...yeah the drivers are gone, and so are the installers (should have put them on the USB stick as well).
Also reset the DIM as the HDR Yosemite Set is back in the product update section of the ready to DL list (so I wonder if 4.6 was also reset back to that date effectively uninstalling everything I installed after that point?).
Time travelling is like an undo rather than a reset :>)
...yeah after today, I think I qualify for the Bald Wizards Club for real. ;-)
Having to rerun all my system scans again. There goes another hour or so.
In for a long night, and almost out of Potato Wodka.

I will not tell you what happened this week...but I will tell you that it's not over...it's a two-parter at least. You should watch it. Not watching it will not change the outcome, it will only make you miss some good action and drama.

drama always seems to be sad. no sads wanted for Ziva.
today is bubble-bath and vacuum day.
for excitement, thinking of switching it up, shower and scrub the sink day. radical! but if i do that i'll forget which day of the week it is.

Kyoto Kid, let us know how your computer is.
I'm having my own issues that is not related to my hard drvie.
Poser 9 needs (Macromedia) Adobe Flash. looks like i need to download version Flash plugin version 11.
I got over that one by rolling My Flash version back to 11.7.700.232 as it seemed to be the update that came after than one that caused this problem, couple with an Adobe Air update, but I don't use Air,
i just noticed that my computer has Flash Version 7. wow. Ok, I'll go look for Flash 11.7.700.232.

...so far so good. running what I hope is the test render of the scene I've been working on. Learned a lot of things about this new fangled UberLighting and how to bring out my subjects better Lots of kitbashing in this one. Lot's of freebies too, enough to qualify it for the freebie challenge if it met this month's theme.
I want to thank everyone who pitched in to help. This was definitely a case tech support on a national if not global level. Now I know what to watch for (and what to do if I need to run a restore).
...and I have a few more security tools at my disposal.
Yeah when I installed Poser 8 and pro 2010 on my old machine, I ran into the same issue. For me Flash is one of those scary plugins as I often heard it mentioned as being a doorway for infection due to it's seemingly ongoing instability.
...and it's made by the same people who bring us Photoshop who want new users to work in the clouds. Over on another forum I have been hearing that some are bailing and either sticking with the version they already have or even switching to GIMP.
time for a lunch break and a movie?
deciding tween watching brave again or underdog, or both, why not
my buppy has beautiful eyelashes. and adorable whiskies.
another day with no luv in my w/l. no luv, no joy.

uh oh nanas turning brown. haz to hurry and make a dbl split banana peanutbutter sundae.
ha, i came back from my lunch break. i followed chohole's suggestions and installed 11.7.700.232 for Internet Explorer twice. grr. Flash runs slow on my computer in Firefox but not in Google Chrome.
oh well. now i will need to map my Daz Studio directories to Poser 9. best $29.99 I spent since I bought Cararra 7 Express a while ago.
oh yeah, and plus I need to download the DSON stuff for Genesis. ok, if I have any problems I will create another thread. later

...nice pic.
Here it rained in buckets most of the afternoon and evening (had to run an errand and felt I needed a canoe to get to the market).

Even though I had the Wisconsin (#23)* - Ohio State (#4)* Game on ESPN.com, I paid little attention to it due to slightly more pressing issues. Looked back at the final wrap up afterwards and even though the Badgers lost (which I kind of expected would happen) they hung around all game only down by one touchdown at the end to a team which put 76 points on the board last weekend (against some "cupcake" college). Were it not for the one turnover Wisconsin committed in the third quarter, they would have been right there. Actually quite proud of the way my boys played considering the match was in the "Horseshoe" (OSU's home stadium) which is an extremely hostile environment for any visiting team, as well as being amidst all the hype about OSU's star quarterback returning after being out for the last two weeks with an injury.
I guess they expected us to be another "pushover". Surprise!
* rankings in the national polls.
You're more than welcome!

Without Flash Player, a lot of web sites won't work...including the Comcast home pages. It's not that scary, as long as you keep it updated. And don't visit sites that are unknown or untrusted. I have Poser Pro 2010. I only used it once so far. I don't remember if it needed Flash Player or not. I did find it easier to work with than I thought it would be.
I am still using Photoshop CS2. Not because of fears of update, because of no money for them. However, I'm not sure how this cloud thing works for it. So what if, for example, the cloud service has too many connections, or servers go down? Does that mean I can't do any Photoshop work? I don't like that idea at all. We here all know how cloud services can cause headaches (cough *ClodFlare* cough). And so reliable! :-/ It seems like these big companies are going way off course in deciding how we want to work. Like Microsoft thinking we all want our computers' interfaces to look like smart phones! Or that we want to do work on tablets. Survey says...not so much. Almost all tablet users use them for fun, social media, and emails...not for work.

...yeah were I not so broke, I would have got it too. Hate missing out on deals like this. Also could have picked up PSPX5 (which would have let me directly load .abr brushes and effects)just before the release of X6 for 39$ but again, just didn't have the Zlotys to spare.
Yeah, Flash and FF don't seem to have the greatest relationship. I had to DL it using IE6 on my old system (scary as back then a sieve offered better protection than IE). for it refused to install correctly in Poser8 using FF.

...indeed.
Tablets could be useful in the workplace (which is what I hoped would happen) as they could make great "electronic clipboards" in places like labs, hospitals, factories, warehouses, etc, tied into to the facility's central intranet hub through their built in wireless (kind of like the "Data Pads" in Star Trek). Unfortunately, the manufacturers seem more fit to market them as nothing more than expensive "playtoys".

I thought about it for a moment. But since I have PP 2010, I decided I'd wait for a deal for the Pro version (2012) or until I have the money to fully upgrade to Poser Pro 2014. Maybe some time in 2014 I might actually have the money for it. Maybe.

Until now. I just read an article that says MS is now marketing it's version 2 of Surface tablets as competition for desktop computers. They are abandoning even trying to compete with other tablets. Perhaps because they can't. People have been buying iPads and Android tablets in droves and ignoring Surface. For the very reason I stated...because they want to have fun with them. They prefer desktops or laptops for work.
The idea of using them like the Star Trek data pads is a great one. But not in place of a desktop for things like word processing or spreadsheets...or programming! And there is something that not many are thinking about...repetitive motion injuries. Tapping out full sentences and such on a flat, hard surface is going to wreak havoc with people's fingertips in time. Plus it puts us right back to the flat keyboard layout, which isn't too good for the wrists, either. I would not like to replace my Microsoft Ergonomic keyboard with one of those. I don't even like typing on my laptop now when I use it. If I had extra money to throw around, I'd buy a half dozen of these to have backups.

ETA: In case anyone is interested, here is the article I was talking about.

In the case of hospitals... there's an unfortunate side-effect to that, that most people don't consider.
When casenotes are in fully electronic form, including lab results, other specialists writeups, opinions, data dumps from diagnostics machines, other cross-referenced disease cases etc that may be relevant, the medical professional has to spend (a lot) more time reading what is on the screen, making sure they don't miss anything in the patent's history (because it might be relevant), rather than actually just _asking_ the patient "yo, what's going down?"... observing the patient... comparing the patient's symptoms with what they've seen before etc etc. With all that extra time required to enter electronic data accurately (not all medical specialists are touch-typists after all), along with extra time required to see what other specialists have written about the patient... it's not leaving much time for the "human touch" in the medical setting.
The technology appears quite spiffy on the surface, of course - having all that data there in one spot, having links to backup information, no more problems with unreadable handwriting, having it backed up and available wherever the patient happens to be... but there's a balance to be struck, that we're not quite there with (afaik).
