...well the bleedin' site software is acting stupid again (what's new?). Found myself suddenly logged out on the store page and every time I sign back in I'm misdirected to the account page. When I switch back to the store tab after signing in, I find I'm logged out again. This has gone far beyond ridiculous.

It's been nearly a year and a half. You would think by now with all the tickets and complaints they have received from the community on issues like this, that it would have been fixed by now.

Clearing cache and cookies doesn't fix it either.

They need to bring a group of professionals, sit down with them tell them everything they want this bleedin software to do, and let the experts take care of matters and get this site working right once and for all.

I have a feeling they can't afford to get professionals in here. Even the simplest help desk things are taking days to get done. I am now no longer in the Platinum Club...again. I think they're swamped...if there is a they. Maybe Britney is the only one left. Since it's the weekend, it probably won't be resolved until late Monday.

...well it comes down to either biting the bullet and shelling out some Zlotys for someone who can actually fix this this train wreck, or continue to tinker with it for who knows how long while losing customers who become fed up with the whole mess in the process.

...update on the crash situation. The system hasn't gone bluescreen, but the driver keeps shutting down causing the display to black out momentarily, Really annoying as it kills Daz in the process requiring the application to be shut down and any work not saved up to that point is lost.

    Sent a report to nVidia.

Maybe Daz 5, needs an auto save function.

*hugs* my experience is the latest GPU drivers are not necessarily the best in all circumstances, different makes/models/implementations can be quite pernickety about versions

...yeah, but not sure I want to go back to the random occurring bluescreens again.

Been stable for the last hour or so. Just shut down for the evening so we'll see what happens tomorrow. Noticed I didn't have Java installd (kind of odd) when I tried to do an online diagnostic with nVidia. Went ahead and installed it as FF was acting kind of freaky about the same tome the driver shutdowns were occurring. Finally got a start on my RRRR # 2 submission though.

Tired, heading off to bed. Nite all.

i don't believe it's possible to have a stable machine online. my pc centers around poser, so i turn off the uac.

a nice battery backup surge protection for the main rig and monitors.

a separate less expensive machine for email and downloads. something that won't hurt when you have to reinstall to factory defaults.

i get upset with poser for needing adobe product for the library.

does DS and Carrara library run without adobe? that's a big selling point.

The Studio and Carrara libraries are integrated with the programs. Flash is banished from the Apple world. I use the Air library, 64 bit Poser and having no problems at all with it on Mac OS. Only downside is Carrara won't run on modern Mac OS and Studio only has rudimentary animation capacities so I use Poser to Lightwave, works real well for me but I'm banished from the DSON world by (mostly) UV issues. Can't recall a time where compatibility has been such a drama Sierra Nancy Alpha Foxtrot Uniform :>)

Speaking of Air, I got a little popup message in my tray last night that I might not have the latest version. The thing is, I never had any version to the best of my knowledge. :-S

RRRR=Random Runtime Roulette Renders contest (http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/29000/). I've only submitted one entry to a previous contest but I like the idea and have actually used it to kind of jump start my creativity.

...the new one and it only began a week ago Thursday when I started getting those random bluescreens.

I thought it might have something to do with the GPU drivers (as there was a message in the System and Application logs), so I installed the latest driver. release. The bluescreens stopped however now I've been having the display blackout every so often which crashes any application that is open at the time.

This is really vexing for I have no idea what to do to stop this from occurring.

RRRR is the Random Render Challenge.

What nVidia card do you have and what version of the drivers are you using?

I've seen the GPU reset errors before and it can be caused by any number of things - bad memory on the card, bad fan causing the card to get to hot, driver issues, driver conflicting with some other driver...

If you want to send me what you think is the pertinent lines from the log files I'll see if I can translate them to English for you :).

...homebuilt so none. (one of the pitfalls of trying to save a few Zlotys, besides, most "off the shelf" systems usually have a barely adequate PSU are usually in a cramped case with sub-par ventilation and come bundled with a load of crapware I'd never use).

The issue is it's worked fine until this bluescreen crap started last week.

...GTX 460. Really cannot afford a new one considering my UC benefits have run out and I'm awaiting a letter I'm supposed to receive concerning applying for an extension.

The other thing is the card was new in the box when i got it, not a "reconditioned" one.

Not sure if I can call those logfiles up without having to shut everything down and go into safe mode again.

Am I remembering correctly that your bluescreen errors were caused by an improperly seated memory stick or was that someone else?

Either way if you commonly shut off your machine at night, especially if you do so shortly after completing a render, you might want to try re-seating the video card.

Any time you allow the machine to heat and cool you get expansion/contraction which can cause things to work loose. You might want to double check the seating of other components while you're in there.
