You don't have to use it. Just go to the Desktop.

    Nice wallpaper!

Does it multi-task? I read something that implied that it actually only does one thing at a time. Maybe that's if you're using the Metro UI, though. This was a technical review, too. They said that it should actually be called Window.

    Dana

It multitasks just fine and you can Alt-Tab through programs just like you've been able to since the old Win3.1 days. Anything you can do in XP you can do in 8.

Even in the Metro UI you multitask it just runs Metro Apps full screen so it looks like you're only running one app at a time.

Didn't know you had an option. Every time I've ever seen it it is using the other UI

And the critter I was trying to design earlier ^^

Good job! Oh, you didn't actually finish that, did you? That's just a concept sketch? Or is that it? Then...good job!

    Dana

It's actually just a cropped section of it ^^

What I want to get done is a side and front view of the head in, and another dynamic/action pose. Maybe running or climbing.
Maybe a part on the feet/legs too, since they're supposed to be good runners and jumpers (And thus padded feets to absorb the impacts when landing)

What I'm most concerned with is if the anatomy "works" here - especially the arms and legs D:
The skull a little bit... Based the general shape off a spinosaur, and the rest of the functionality off an anaconda + gulper eel :P

Is this just for drawing, or do you plan to model it in 3D? Cool either way!

    Dana

It's kind of out of my league in terms of modeling, but one never knows. For now just for drawing :)

    And thanks ^^

ZBrush would work really good for that

Note to tjohn, I addressed your MetaData issues. Let me know if it helps.

Note to others, Frank designed the Monster I'm sitting at right now. He builds get monster designs.

Note to Rez, Nice Dragon you got going there.

EDIT: Opps forgot to mention this. I dreamed Wooly came back. Was a good dream if dreaming about posting on a forum can be called a good dream.

Check the GPU card specs Frank, that might need a deeper box, this one did. the GPU is HUGE!

But have you really proven that? I heard that progress stops when it goes to the background. It's like the old refrigerators...how do you know the light really goes out when you shut the door? Well, it was a good question to posit to someone easily distracted.

Well, I'm running an i7 quad core so i think it does true multitasking.

I appreciate that, Jade, but I mentioned that something (I'm looking at you, Norton!) is preventing CMS and DS from communicating at DS startup.

I got rid of Norton about 6 years ago because it kept interfering with programs. I don't know if they've improved it any but it don't sound like it

First time it's given me any problems with Daz stuff. If it is something they caused they'll fix it soon, there are new updates from them several times every day. They make it very difficult to get rid of Norton, but I've considered it. The Windows Security package that comes with Win 8 is supposed to work very well, according some Techs I've spoken to about it.

Wow, I still find it hard to believe there are people out there still using XP. There's been what, 3 more OP since. Vista, Win7 and Win 8. Yep 3

The house compy is six years old and still running XP, won't be changing anything until it breaks down completely. Got a workstation running Vista SP1, never update a workstation unless the applications it runs need an upgrade :>)

hehe sleepy draggy has the right idea, is far too cold to be anywhere except under a doona XD

Here, too. But I went outside for a couple of hours anyway, to mow the lawn. And suck up the fallen leaves. With the mower, I'm not dumb enough to fall for that leaf blower thing anymore. I use the mower and get two jobs done at one time.

Years ago I ended up having to cut a chunk out of the hard drive bays with a hacksaw because I'd bought a graphics card that turned out to be unexpectedly massive. Metal filings all over PC interior...

it's chilly here, but iz never too chilly for cookies n cream ice scream?

don't let zombies near the ice scream, they drip eyeballs in it.

the sassy 2.o hair kinda looks like the 11th doctor's hairstyle.

twizzlers make a yummy ice scream topping, but not so much with cookies n cream.
