I think shes hot! I think she was probably a video girl for a number of glam rock videos back in the '80s.
From that angle Alabama HD looks like Nicole Kidman.
I've seen it sans the giant eyelashes but it mostly disappeared by the early 80s from my weak memory. The girls in the middle schools in my classes in the mid seventies was the last time I remember regularly seeing such eyeshadow being very popular. Also, when I lived near Orange Blossom Trail near the Orlando International Airport the ladies of the night, or in this case, broad daylight on my walk to 7th grade, had both that style eye shadow, false eye lashes, unitards, fishnet stockings, afro wigs, unitards, absolutely giant platform heels so that was a very grown up style. The ladies looked awesome. Clothing styles have gotten sort of boring and cheap since those days.
You should be doing her promos! She looks wonderful here. I would not have bought her without seeing your renders.
I was playing around (Love what you did with her Laurie) and realized I had not picked up the expression set I thought I did. So back to the store for Sydney Mixable Expressions.
But in the cart it only had 30% off, not 51% as shown on the page. Is that normal for an add-on?
Spit, are you sure you're logged in correctly? Can you try another browser? I just checked it and see the correct discount in the cart.
No. If the sales page shows 51% off, the cart should as well. If you haven't already refreshed the page and seen the price update, try that. Sometimes the cart gets confused…
Ultimately, though, if you can't get the cart and the page to match, give a shout out to the mods. You can also take a screenshot of the sales page with the correct price on it, and the cart with the incorrect price, checkout, and then file a trouble ticket. (I prefer to wait it out.) New releases are always 30% off, (if not more,) and your member discount is 30%. Those stack to make the 51% you're seeing on the page.
The price in the cart can be lower than the sales page, with promos, coupons, and the (now) occasional stacking discount, but it should never be higher than the advertised price.
Has anyone noticed that Sydney renders easier/faster than usual or is it just me imagining things?
I downloded her minutes ago manually, unzip and had a look in the Runtime: The tattoos are in the textures. And I installed her and the tattoos work for me. Found them in Content Library- ....- Sydney 8 - Materials - Iray
It's working okay now. I didn't log out just toodled around for a bit. Put other stuff in the cart and it worked.
Best skin I ´ve seen for the older women, it is so real. Not so nice makeup as they are sometimes in real life and that's why I like Sydney. Skin is maybe scanning from the real person, it so good. Neck, knees and so on... very fine details. Sydney is a woman who is in good shape, sporty but not too much....spending time in the sun or solarium and thas why skin is what it is. I know this kind of women.
I don't believe anyone addressed this definitively yet, so I brought both Sydney and Sydney HD into DS and dialed out just the body morph on each. The wrinkle crease below the breasts is only there when you remove the body morph, but leave the HD body morph.
I won't return her because of it, but it's a shame the wrinkle crease is there. I've been known to use a different body on a figure while still using the HD morph. However, with clothing covering the chest, it might not cause an issue. On the other hand, the added detail around the base of her large breasts adds realism to the skin. After half a century, the skin that's pulled by the weight of the mammary glands has it's own set of lines and wrinkles, something I've not seen in a 3D figure before.
I didn't do any rendering as it's well past my bedtime, but I wanted to reassure anyone wondering about this issue, that it isn't a problem with the base morph.
Edited to clarify the wrinkle we've been discussing is a crease in the mesh.
the poses for the heavy motorcycle road cruiser in the Carefree Poses and Expressions for Sydney 8 and Genesis 8 Female(s) don't work
Don't install, give an error, don't change the figure at all, or don't fit the target item? It's possible that something needs parenting first if it's the last of those.
Thank you, @L'Adair, for following up. I am now scrambling under the cushions of my couch for more coins. It is much too early in the year to bust my Daz budget, but...
Hmmm, I wonder who is responsible for the makeup in the female pro bundles for Genesis 8. It looks scary and not nice. I always have to use another character's skin.
all the other poses work just not the bike ones
an error occured while reading file
think this is it in log file 2019-01-17 00:34:51.992 Invalid hierarchy for selected node(s) and "preset_hierarchical_pose" type; no root(s) found.
Wasn't there a similar situation with Christian 8 and Bad Boy Poses? He has to be parented to the motorcycle for the Road Cruiser hierarchical poses to work. Same thing here?
I'll point out that HD morphs are VERY likely to have weirdness when applied to a different base figure. HD is basically a high resolution modification of a specific base.
Imagine you are making elven ears, long and narrow, which come to very sharp curled points. The curled points are unlikely to look right with just a base mesh, so you add HD details to get them nice and perfect.
But someone now attempts to apply those HD details to regular human ears. That's going to look broken/weird, most likely.
Just want to give some perspective on why this happens, and that it's not an error on the part of the creator. Mind you, sometimes HD details DON'T have this problem, when the base is reasonably similar to other figures or where the detail added is very small scale (like pores), although even then changes to base figure could distort these details.
Thanks for this. Also thanks to whoever compared Alabama with Sydney and Albama without Sydney. Any chance of someone comparing Rumer and Melinda with and without Sydney? I'm trying to keep the cost down, but I really like Rumer and Alabama.
I'd like to mention that the pose Sydney is using is from the Carefree Poses and Expressions for Sydney 8 and Genesis 8 Female pose set which is in both the Pro and Starter bundles kinda got a bad feeling my render is going to get deleted from my gallery with a threatening letter even though this pose is in this pose set and in the bundles as I've lost others for far less like Aiko jumping in the air and her skirt up a little - yes she was fully clothed nothing revealing just could see her underwear anyways here is my first render of the girls from the Sydney 8 Pro oh and Sydney with her hd morph

Melinda, Sydney And Alabama
First I thought 'Oh no, please Daz - not another white female'! But then I watched the promos closer. Really, this woman got something... I like her!
As NorthOf45 says, you need a specific hierarchy for Hierarchcial poses - everything has to be parented to the right base figure, in this case apparently the bike.
ok now that just does not make sense and is weird you gotta do that but damn I tried it and every one of the poses worked you were right thank you
someone else suggested I parent Sydney or any other to the bike first which is weird cause never had to do that before but it worked and all the poses work now
we cross posted didn't see your reply but done that and everything fine now thank you just think weird since other poses used on bikes extra never had to do that and never heard of having to do that before so that's another new thing I've learned
Got a purple banner, confirming that these are split out by whether you've bought a female or a male G8 bundle in the past. I bought the bundle on Alexandra, just the base character on Edward, and ever since have occasionally gotten purple banners on G8F bundles, but never on G8M bundles.
I don't like much of the clothing in this bundle, which made picking out 4 addons to max out the discount difficult to do, but the actual offer (bundle at ~$52 with purple banner and 4 addons, freebie vehicles, 20% off giftcard, and $20-$40 off daz originals, enhanced discount on associated PAs) is generous. It's really just a matter of whether I can justify dropping ~$200 for a discounted giftcard, a couple motorcycles, some useful hairstyles and poses, three G3F compatible characters from the PAs' catalogs, a smattering of cool clothes most of which the RSSY scripts will need to backconvert for me, and a whopping FOUR G8F characters (including Rumer) that I genuinely like but would need to backconvert. A good deal, just with that "spending money to save money" caveat.
Normal maps can also add such detail; not got the character so cant check.
That's the problem with all of the flagship characters, it's as though the makeup has been done by a male nerd, it looks like makeup from a night of watching tear-jerkers and romantic comedies!
I like Melinda for Sydney 8, https://www.daz3d.com/melinda-hd-for-sydney-8 . Shes totally Vampy (the teeth came from a different character).
