Maybe use the high backed version of the captain's chair to differentiate it from the other two chairs.

    good idea!

In the Main Trek Universe, those were added with later upgrades and refits. Those were in Movie 5, remember. I'm only working with material based on Movie 2. By the time I get the planters done and the furniture in place, I think you'll agree there's no room for them.

Another update. I'm going to do the planters next, then the furniture. This set shows the completed ceiling and lighting. It also has Pateience55's top that she made for me. Looks alot better.

Okay, the planters are done. I may go back and add some smaller bushes, but for the most part, they're done. Now, there's just the furniture and the doors.

Thank you. Patience55 is working on the chairs and couch, and I'm doing the doors. So it should be finished by Monday I would think- unless some RL issues come up.

If I'm not mistaken, the one in the TWOK Enterprise has an old sailing ship's wheel in front oft he viewing port, was there one in the TOS version as well? I don't recall if one was, but you might try one here.

In the episode with the "M-5" computer, Commodore Wesley on the USS Lexington had a high-backed version the captain's chair.

As I told Bluto, That wheel didn't show up till ST5: Final Frontier- and by then, they had completely redesigned the lounge. This is what I'm working from:

Head's Up!! NFXStudios has released an awesome engine room set at Rendo:

I also have a full Sickbay, Transporter Room, a custom-designed Armory with weapons locker and target range, corridor section, crew quarters, the room that was used for the briefing room, galley, etc, a full bridge, and a full set of hand props -- phaser 1 and 2, articulated tricorder and communicator, medical equipment, a TOS-style PADD with stylus, the phaser rifle from Where No Man Has Gone Before, and the laser pistols from The Cage.

Planning to release these as I'm able to work the Poser conversions into my schedule and, of course, dependent on how well they do sales-wise. There is also a full exterior ship of my own design based a bit on the fan-designed Paladin class that I should be able to release, and a full TOS era Constitution class ship that I can't.

I made up all this stuff while I was working on a Star Trek based web comic series that never came to pass and it's been sitting on my hard drive for over a year. I might even still have some Andorian antennae for Genesis on there somewhere.

I swapped the captain's chair for the tall back and made the command area one step up - so their is a clear view of the screen.

I suspect someone has speculated it before, but you are the first person I've "encountered" to actually put a "Next Gen'" aesthetic spin upon the TOS engine room layout (2nd season onwards). That is wild!

Maybe seeing this will motivate Ptrope to finally complete his "4th season" upgraded engine room set. ;-)

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Thought I would throw out a render of the Bridge that goes with my Engineering set. Needs a bit of touch-up before it would be ready for release, mostly with materials, but a little bit of modeling needs to be retouched as well.

    What do you all think?

A Nit Pic: Shouldn't the frames around the upper viewscreens have rounded inside corners?

    Spoken like a true Trekkie!

    At least I didn't destroy anyone's childhood like J. J. Abrams.

In seriousness, though, you're correct. One of the things that needs to be fixed before it's ready for release. Some parts of the ship you can get away with little inconsistencies, but the Enterprise bridge is a set that pretty much every fan on earth knows every square inch of.

    Like who?

That's only because they spent more time filming it than any other set. During those three seasons, we saw damn near every angle of it- not like Sickbay or Engineering which kept changing from season to season.

One last update before I call it a night. This set has Patience55's seats in place and I thank her for them.
