Genesis 8 Female example and improvement discussion

Continuing from the male thread, here are examples of the G8F characters and textures that I own. All are rendered under the same light and settings, which are listed on the full-sized images. I hope these might help you decide on future purchases or to give you ideas on kitbashing texture elements to improve upon the textures you already have.

    Did you make a separate scene file for the females, or should I just use the one from the males?

    No problem nonesuch, sorry for the late reply. I've added a few male textures to my wishlist after seeing some of Daventaki and butterflyfish's examples.

    Butterflyfish: No, the only difference in the scenes was the height of the camera. Thanks!

    In the third shot I used a custom made displacement map. This is not included, and you usually don't really need it. However when you have an image that shows the scars from a certain angle it may help to improve the look. This is not so noticable in these frontal mug shots.

    To get the displacement map I used the normal maps and used Quixel to convert them.

    That's an excellent texture Markus and thank you for showing the extra detail you can get with custom maps. Textures can really be improved with a little work, I replaced the eyebrows on Monique 8 for my character, and used the fairly simple texture that came with the Succubus Addon wings as a base in Substance Painter to make new, very high-res and detailed new ones.

    Markus, could you perhaps make an example of Ellithia 8 with no makeup? I have her in my wishlist and just would like to see how much skin detail she has. Thanks as always for your contributions to these threads.

    You're welcome! The renders are subdivision 4. You can actually dial in the HD and the older HD from 0-100%.

    Thanks Daventaki and Markus for those! So you need the Ellithia HD add-on for both the additional detail and the separate Older morph, correct?

    Yep the HD really brings out the details, you can see them some on the base but not as much.  There is no Older morph with just the base.  Fyi I was able to get the HD Addon today for $11.75 with the loyalty discount I recieved.

    with some hd add ons they reallt affect the character and with some really look like a completely different character which can be really good as you kinda get two for one characters. I often have trouble with dark skin characters coming out real dark and losing detail I often have to really brighten up a scene to get/see details which kinda makes it awked when there is alos a light skin in the scene

    Here is Aakash HD for Kala 8.  The render subdivisions were 2, which is the out of the box setting.  The no make up or base mat setting is just the character shape applied to the G8F base.
