I wouldn't pay that much attention to the smoke, I read it as a simple animation overlay to make the post more attractive. It has to be something related to the guy, it was in the banner and now there again.

My guess is they simply bought the character model and rigged him.

Since the copy says specifically "a product", probably no... I am thinking Maya bridge.
The consensus seems to be that nothing big is coming tomorrow. And anybody who doesn't have to go to work tomorrow should call their boss and ask if they can come in anyway.
A Maya bridge doesn't sound that exciting. I think maybe we get that guy. They've made too big a deal out of him. Maybe that guy is a top-secret project and will actually show up as a pro pack. I guess we find out in about 7 hours.
Maybe it is just something BIG, as in that is a larger than average (big) male character. Maybe he is 6'8"" and 350 lb. I'll wait before I get excited.

It said #3Dcharacter so I'm guessing that "Big" fat guy with the tattoo that's been in their promos and in that particular promo.
K, so detective hat on. but this image clearly looks like the character from the other thread, however, the pose it is in is a different one, as well as not a pose that there is any similar to on the linked artstation page (whereas the image in the last thread did match) The shirt looks different and the pants fold at the knee in a very Studio un-dforced way
The watch and ring are also different (theres also some clipping on the watch)
No bold claims, but I think this latest image 1) looks like in the other thread 2) was definitely rendered in Studio
I believe he's wearing this watch and maybe this ring, so I would agree that there are some definite Daz Studio assets involved now.
Hey, this thread somehow managed to earworm me with this, so now everyone gets to share!
A completely overhauled version of Daz Studio, utilising AI to no longer require any input from the user. It automatically knows what you want to do, and does it before you could have done it yourself.

Actually, from a character standpoint, he looks both big and cool - after all these pretty boys (even the few older pretty boys), a good, rough, gritty, hard-life character would be refreshing!

Really - so much wishful thinking in this thread that it should merge with the Wishful Thinking thread. If the hint is something "big" and they show a picture of a new big character, then my guess would be that he is the something big. As for the wishes - soft body physics would be good. Google Filament slightly more likely. Please don't let it be G9 though - I'm still stocking up on G8F stuff and also G3M because I don't use G8M.
Well... if it's "Google" anything I'm out... I'm already unhappy about the little "connecting to Facebook" message on the bottom of the browser when I log in... :/
After I left my computer to go exercise, I remembered that the real time PBR renderer Google Filament was in the DS release notes a while back, but didn't actually show up in the beta. The more I thought about it, it makes more sense as the "something big", since they were obviously close to releasing earlier, but for some reason they delayed the release. For me, that would be pretty big news. I love Eevee in Blender, having something similar in DS would be awesome!!
