never mind
I realize that.. don't worry.. I won't! I just hope I find some benefits fast or I won't be spending much at DAZ anymore :(
Have fun with it. I just want to say DAZ3D had nothing to do with the free Weasel, it was my way of saying thanks to you, the customers, and DAZ for letting myself and fellow PAs the opportunity to become part of the Platinum Club. Keep looking to the future for more freebies from team DzFire for PC+ members.
And thank you for the freebie. It is wicked cool looking. Can't wait to take it out for a spin.
:-)

Keep in mind the Beta lasts until July 31st after which everyone gets converted back to regular PC. So it's not like you're stuck forever :-)
I'm sure you'll find a way to use your new benefits to get you some awesome discounts.
llolalane, remember that Platinum Plus member save 30% off select stores of Published Artists each week.
Thank you all for your kind words.. I know it's my own fault for not UNDERSTANDING/READING everything first before I clicked the CONVERT button. I'm sorry if I've been a problem. I will get over it. The 1.99 and 50 percent off sales have got me spoiled so 30 percent off isn't a big deal to me... it's the 1.99 PC items that I will miss. Having to pay 1.56 more per item is what's gonna kill my bank account. I will give this new Plus Club a try :) (sighs) Have a great evening everyone... Happy rendering!
I was pretty much the same re the value category. I had no problem with the idea of jacking up some items to $2.99, and it probably would have gone over well if it had simply been presented that way up front. Instead, it was the way in which it was implemented and revealed that caused most of the brou-de-hah. Unfortunately, the old adage about it being easier to ask for forgiveness than permission is simply not true in retail. Give a customer a reason to think you're not playing fair with him once and it's enough to lose a customer for life. Add in the mob mentality of the internet and things can get out of hand really quickly.
The really ironic thing here, however, is that I suspect that the inevitable long term effect of having two unequal but same priced PC plans running simultaneously is that it will probably end up seriously reducing the number of annual memberships. After all, from a consumer's point of view, it's going to make a lot more sense to join the regular PC for a few months, scoop up the new $1.99 items you want, and then to quit the PC and join PC+ for a month or two to pick up some PA items, quit again and repeat. Hey, it doesn't take a genius to figure that one out, right?
Of course, what it also means is that, in addition to losing the greater upfront payments that come with annual memberships, and having most products still go out at whatever the lowest possible price is anyway, DAZ will ALSO get stuck with an ever-changing ratio of PC/PC+ and Non PC members that they have to pitch promotions to. That, in turn, means an increase in the amount of specifically targeted e-mails, flyers and coupons that have to be produced. Store programming will take a bigger hit as well, with the additional data input, and customer service will really get the brunt of it as they have to field the problem of people buying something as a PC + item at one price, then returning it and re-buying it as a PC item as they switch memberships left and right. And all of this will then add up to higher additional operating costs that will have to be accounted for somehow. (Most likely, knowing DAZ, by putting everything that's NOT in the PC on sale for 80% off with an added $5 off with $30 or more purchase.)
And all while the forum mods have to deal with rumbles of revolt, resentment and general rancor in between the usual rambles about rendering. Good times!
I think I may have misread a post somewhere, because I have conflicting info in my memory.
After the beta ends and a final decision about the future of the club is made, will there be a gap during which we are converted back to the regular PC for certain for at least a few days during which we can make any final $1.99 purchases before the price goes up permanently, or is it possible that we will get converted to the new program with no gap and not have that opportunity, and thus must make any $1.99 purchases before trying the beta?
Greetings,
I think I may have misread a post somewhere, because I have conflicting info in my memory.
After the beta ends and a final decision about the future of the club is made, will there be a gap during which we are converted back to the regular PC for certain for at least a few days during which we can make any final $1.99 purchases before the price goes up permanently, or is it possible that we will get converted to the new program with no gap and not have that opportunity, and thus must make any $1.99 purchases before trying the beta?It will convert to the standard PC membership again, for an indeterminate amount of time until they can work out from the numbers what features worked and what didn't, and whether it was worth it for the PA's, DAZ, and the Platinum Club as a whole.
I doubt they'll make large changes until the PC sale in October, and when they do you'll have a significant amount of warning.
They really aren't trying to mess folks over, as far as I can tell.
All this comes from reading carefully, and sometimes between the lines.

There will be a gap.. how long I am not sure.
Well, I took the plunge. Another PC coupon, plus one good for PA items (including the already discounted ones!). Might finally be able to reduce my wishlist. Not likely, though.
I did it as well. There was obviously a good deal of thought behind the proposed change to the Platinum Club and I figured I would give it an honest trial. It's not too horrible a change although it WILL impact my shopping habits with DAZ3D. Simply put, the discretionary funds I put aside for this hobby will just not go as far.
The thing is, DAZ3D is a business and as such they have a responsibility to make enough of a profit to pay their employees and keep the lights on.
Err.. am I understanding this right? Did you end up with 3 PC coupons for June? The regular one we had at the beginning of the month, the new PC+ PA coupon, and a second regular June coupon for joining PC+?
Yes... I just signed up for the Beta, and though I already used my PC coupon, I got two new ones.
I guess it's DAZ "Thank you" for participating in the Beta? :-)
Its not much but PC+ I feel penalized for being a member, in the V4 and M4 sale non pc members are getting a better discount than those that are paying I think this is wrong and should be reversed. its like you give the $6 of $18 but really your not getting anything off because of the extra your paying.

Yes, that's right!
This is giving me a headache.
The $6 DO code we now have has changed so we can use it on PC items, but no new releases of PC ITEMS. (that was post 186) Good deal.
The new $6 code is on anything except new releases, gift cards, memberships. That includes Published Artist stores, and PC items (again, excluding new releases.) There is an $18 minimum. Good deal.
Prices on PC items go up. Bad deal. BUT...
I probably just missed it, but has anyone pointed out- "Well, even if the price goes up on the PC items, once they aren't new, I have a SECOND $6 code to use and I can wait and get $18 worth of those PC items (discounted to at least 70%) and just buy them all at once, and get $6 more off?" That would probably put them back at the price they are now, or really close to it. So you may be in the same boat as before, but with the additional oar that your first $6 code CAN be used on DO club items (but not new ones.)
Using that logic, people are going to sit and wait for the PC items not to be new- which domino effects into the beta testing time isn't long enough. I personally wouldn't buy any PC items until they were off of new status. So how does this help the PA's? (Or am I an idiot, way off base here?)
Just to add a pic of what I am talking about.
Um on the issue of the v4/m4 sale, you might want to check your math. I logged out and refreshed the page and querying a v4 skin I saw a discount of 80% . Then I logged in to the site and queried the same item and got a discount of 86%.
Yes, that's right!
Nice!
Do I need to use my regular one before joining PC+ or will I end up with all 3 active at once if I test this sucker out?
I see the train wreck coming!
Just to add a pic of what I am talking about.
I see what you mean Sal UK.. those were $1.99 PC items for me this morning too...BEFORE I joined +club :(
Enough said.. I'm shutting up.. I made my bed... Now I've gotta sleep in it. Happy rendering everyone!

I don't need to check anything the screens say it all. why do you think I pointed out the ones I did...

No, I get the same result as Sal UK. The discount for Non-PC members is actually 88%, when the ad says it should be 80%.
It might be worth reporting this to DAZ. My bet is on another shop software whackadoodle.
EDIT: Put in a ticket for this... let's see if there's a reaction from technical support....
I kinda like this PC+ thing. I manged to get Stonemason's SciFi Bedroom for $12 and some change. This was with the 30% off and the $6 coupon for PAs. On the flipside, I do see the increase in the PC items. So I guess there is a trade off. Discount on the PAs or the $1.99 PC items? Yes the PC items are a little more expensive (but still with a great discount) but I really like being able to grab a PA item with a discount and a coupon. Will have to ponder that and decide.
Decisions, decisions.......
You definitely have to use the June (regular Plat Club) before you join Beta. (That was already mentioned waaaaay back in the posts.) :)

Gotchya. Thanks!
While you can use the second coupon on PC product, we offered it because one of the biggest complaints from members was that they could not use their coupon on PA product, now you can.
This is how we imaged it would work, and also why we have the PC+ as a beta ;-). We hope that it will offer members more choices.
Holy smoly. Curious, I added 35 things to my cart that I don't have, the total is 462.25. With the current PC discount, it's
462.25 - 393.93 = 68.32
With the new Beta, 70% of 462.25 is 323.58
462.25 - 323.58 = 138.67
So current PC is 68.32, new would be 138.67.
Yikes.
But in fairness to the vendors, this includes a lot of the West Park or Parkside Pointsets, which are $16.95, and it's amazing they were offered at $1.99 to begin with. I figured I'd go ahead and stock up on things I don't have/don't particularly need, and just put the things I don't have in my cart (then I will start eliminating what I won't actually use.)
