As a club member I don't think it's fair to raise prices on us without negotiation. This is what we're engaged in now. But switching from flat pricing (tiered or not) to a percentage changes that equation because our costs can go up without notice.

We're not - we offered an opt-in to something which we are testing out. It is up to each member to decide if they want to take part, and the forum is here to answer any queries they may have either prior or after that opt-in.

Any permanent changes to the original membership, which you can't 'opt into' will be dealt with completely separately. How that will happen I don't know, we've not got that far yet. The only thing which is fixed is the fact that this beta will run until July, and then everyone will go back to being a regular PC member.

Huh? The first paragraph of the first page:

In response to feedback from user surveys and community discussions about which features Platinum Club members would like to get out of their membership, we have created Platinum Club Plus [Beta]. This Beta program introduces the benefits you’ve been asking for, while adjusting those you are less interested in, to create a more valuable club designed to give you savings on the products you are most interested in.

I wasn't talking about the current price on PC items for people who opted in. This is a beta program to test and discuss features and shortcomings. It doesn't matter whether it's for an additional PC club or possible changes to the old club, the issue is the same. Percentage off pricing via hiking list price raises cost to club members without negotiation. I sincerely doubt that will happen during a beta.

*Pops up and looks around uttering her famous line.* let's keep it civil please. Jack, Laurie and everyone at DAZ has been really good at answering the questions and trying to help. And keeping this thread open for your ideas, suggestions and concerns about the Platinum Club Plus beta.

    Thanks Jack!!

Is DAZ taking suggestions on the webpage design/functions? If they are where can we submit ideas/suggestions? It would be great to have a checkbox to select multiple items for removal and move to cart!!

Why not set everything in the PC Club at 75% easy to figure and the price of the item fluctuates with it's base cost.

Isn't that exactly what we've done, except it's 70% off? People who pick stuff up while it's on intro discount, get an additional 30% off.. so the same as the rest of store.

Jack I think you have just highlighted one of the biggest problems with this scheme - a lot of people don't know anymore, most people seem very confused about what the prices are going to be or should be.

I don't know how we can make it any clearer, there's an FAQ on the PC+ page, as well the first few posts of this thread.

How through... consistency and conditioning. People assume the Beta program will be a wonderful benefit to them, because they have not been "burned" by a DAZ offering so far - so they tool the plunge uninformed. People are like Pavlov pets and behaviors are the effect of expectations. Peeps come to expect a whopping sale at the beginning of next month and that the PC will offer the best deals. Routine behavior, its a powerful force once conditioned.

Well I for one took the plunge completely informed to give it a shot. It's not my cup of tea and I will send in my suggestions as I wait for the end of the beta. As much as I dislike having to try this and that to see what I can get I do come in everyday and look around Just so I can give it my full opinion by the end of the Beta I may find I like it or I may not right now I do not like it however we shall see what the next few weeks hold.

I've also made the change fully informed.

Do I like paying more? Of course not. Am I upset or angry about it? No. The PC will get no more actuall dollars from me than they have in the past. I will just get less for that money.

This week, buying everything released durring the intro two weeks is an increase of... less than 65 cents per item. A total of $2.50. Yes, that's more than another PC item under the normal pricing structure. But it is not so much that this week's releases are pushed out of my budget.

We'll have to see how the releases go for the rest of the beta, and then I'll have enough data to determine if the switch to 70% off will be too much of an increase to work for me in long term.

Here's what I'm talking about: Stonemason's Village Courtyard is a "Flashback Favourite" at 60% off, but Stonemason is one of this week's PC+ 30% off PAs. So a non-PC+ member gets a better deal without being in the PC ... Not to mention that the 60% doesn't appear when adding to cart anyway.

    I mean ... COME ON !!!!

I have not yet opted in. I do mean to, I just haven't pushed the button yet, but then again I haven't purchased anything this week yet either. I am one of those who may not benefit as much from the PA additions, but I will benefit a bit. I also don't like paying more, but it has been stated for a long time now that the PC items are not profitable as is and that pricing increases were being considered, so I am not upset by it either. Do I prefer flat rate or the percentage? I think, that even if the percentage may end up costing us a little more, what we get in return may be worth it rather than having either a single flat rate or a tiered fixed price. The amount I spend at DAZ won't change. I tend to buy small gift cards on a semi-regular basis so that I can keep my allotted funds for DAZ, and that is how I will generally continue.

No, No No, you are wrong.

First, the deal does stack with stonemason's 30% off for PC+ members. So PC+ members actually get 71% off. Second it requires the coupon code FLASH-FAV You will see the discount apply in the cart once you use the coupon.

Where the hell is that esoteric coupon code mentioned? No, never mind, I've seen enough of this bs. Off to cancel my PC renewal.

    Hey Jared,
First off, thanks for hanging in there. :)

Second, I tried the coupon code on Urban Sprawl but it said it was invalid. Urban Sprawl and the Courtyard are only showing 30 percent off for me and that coupon didn't work......

    Thanks.

It does work, but I too would like to know where that coupon is mentioned elsewhere. I stuck one of those items in the cart from the rotating banner ad (which did not mention a coupon) and it sat there at 30% off. I shrugged and removed it.

I don't see that as a PC+ problem, but it is a problem. Perhaps someone should mention it to the powers that be? You folks are making really difficult to shop. Again.

I'm sorry but if you have posted the code and the need for it somewhere its not apparently obvious, for example I would expect it to be on the advertising banner, its not.
I've just taken a look and cannot see it anywhere.

Ahh, ok. I can't try it on Courtyard as I already own. Wasn't sure if the coupon was supposed to work on Urban Sprawl.

I too am having that same problem. Thought it would be a really good deal if it did but it kept on coming up coupon invalid when I went to apply the code given.

The FLASH-FAV code doesn't work on the Urban Spral, it says "Code not VAlid"... It works fine on the Courtyard, though, at $11 bucks for PC+

They're in there, but as others above have states, it's not currently working on Urban Sprawl like it's supposed to.

Also it is supposed to be Urban Sprawl 2 The Big City, not Urban Sprawl that the coupon code works on.

Really? I really hope that code has more than a single use. >.< I already used it on the courtyard before you wrote this.

Yes, it worked a 2nd time.
