Guess I'll throw my hat into this ring with a quick test of my own. I experimented with her skin. I don't like how toony flat her ear textures are so altered them. And of course I got rid of the scar.
Oh this is such a pretty portrait
I don't know how to remove the scar, so I tried a bunch of assorted redheads skins while watching Youtube videos.
I used GIMP as I don't have PS. I loaded up the face texture, then a 2nd layer of the face texture. Flip one of the layers, and use a combo of the clone and heal tools to blend the flipped layer into the first. I did not want it to be perfectly mirrored, so I altered it a bit further. You could also just use a part of the face nearby the scar, there are lots of ways to do it.
You will need to do this for all the face textures, there are 4 in total. The scar is present on them all. If you leave the bump and normal maps alone the face will still have the topography of the scar there.
I don't have an issue with the scar which is part of the morph, and changing the bump and normal won't get rid of it entirely as you can see in the images I just posted. And even the wound isn't all that grotesque. I'd just wish there had been a version without the wound, because the skin is quite nice otherwise.
Looking over her normal maps and HD shape, Tara's normal maps essentially mirror her HD shape to a T. If you turn the mesh down to subd 2 and use the edited normal for the HD look there will be no scar. IMO, her normals and HD are kind of redundant to be used at the same time since they are the same. You only need one or the other, not both. It is nice to have the option.
I didn't say it was gross, but it is over the top. It would look strange on most other situations, like if somebody didn't want to use in fantasy. Just a girl in an office or something.
I love it when you do comparisons like this Sevrin ;-)
That's what I did on my Daisy skin render with Tara morph, just turn down the Sub-D and the scar almost entirely disappears
If it's a dry day you probably won't see a breath plume; https://www.loc.gov/everyday-mysteries/item/why-do-i-see-my-breath-when-its-cold-outside/
And it's a great render for fantasy!
As far as reality, for me, if it was really cold- she would not be baring her thighs and fingers- just imagine how cold that metal thing is she is holding! Maybe her expression is due to her fingers being frozen!
Edit to say she looks wonderful in the Daisy 8 skin- now I have to go get Daisy!
So my intent was not to hide the cut entirely, rather simply to make it look like less of an open wound. On G8F base. I edited only the diffuse and tranlucency layers using frequency separation to edit colour and detail separately.

One more of my Daisy skin and Tara combo ;-)
A tale of two Taras. Guess which one's the real estate broker.
Daisy skin on the left, Lanuola on the right.*
Centaur Queen... young and sweet, only... *AHEM*
All the angst about the scar can be put aside. The version I just downloaded (for the first time after a week of no success, didn't try the first couple of days) has scar ON/OFF material settings. Don't know when it was updated, but no one else has mentioned it so far, probably because it was stuck in limbo.
Sweet. It wasn't a huge thing, but it was a thing. Downloaded some other updates this morning, and this one now.
I haven't been able to download it for three days, I put in a ticket last night and they emailed me this morning saying it was fixed and I was able to download it. Maybe it was in the update from today then.
Well, looking at the dates inside the package, it was updated on Aug 24th, five days after it was initially released. I suspect it got stuck in the system because no one was able to download it for the last 8 or 9 days, and no one seems to have noticed an update until now.
