In Ruttsville, something is always happening! Here, the seniors at UAT (University of Arcanum and Technology) pull a prank on the town! It's not a REAL dragon, of course! Illusions 401 is a great class, everyone loves it!

Fun fact: the UAT football team is called the Armadillos because the players polymorph into armadillos for the game. GO ARMADILLOS! :cheese:

That is a great looking texture on the draggy it looks electric like a Terminator time travel effect :)

That's what caught my eye when I saw it - the textures are pretty "magic-looking". Very useful for my needs.

Yes is a neat effect :)

"In which language is Linux written?"
    (C, C++ ?)

"What does the Language have to do with the success of Linux?"
(Far as I can think of and write down, it was... Something to do with C and C++ being able to be used on multiple machines, and something...)

I can see the answers in my mind - up until I try and write them then they just poof. >_<</p>

Yes that's right, code can be compiled against appropriate hardware specific libraries, makes code very portable

BAH! I don't knoooow ;3; No matter how many times I read those sections of the chapter, it just doesn't get any clearer for me DX

Urgh. Just so tired. Making me not be able to think straight. I *think* I got it, and start to type it down and then I lose track and go "durrr what does I type?" and then boom I forget what I was trying to think of... I bet I could handle this a bit better if I had proper rest (20 hours awake, one hour of sleep = not good learning and memorizing conditions.) but... Urgh. I don't know. At least I've got this week free on my web design class - actual homework for htat doesn't start until next week.

IIRC, multi-user systems can have more than one person using the computer at once. Multi-tasking means the computer can do multiple things at the same time. So, Windows is multi-tasking but not normally multi-user, while a *nix system is multi-user AND multi-tasking, typically.

    Goodluck with your class!

@Kyoto: Best of luck with your next interview! :cheese:

Unix/Linux is written almost entirely in C. The C language has been implemented on almost every computer known to Man, thus making Unix/Linux extremely portable as very little machine-specific code is required in most cases.

C is also a very concise language and produces compact, optimized code - C++ typically generates larger code
AND the language "does things for you" under the hood, removing control of everything from the programmer.

I code in C 80% of the time, then it's C++ and C#, a touch of Java, and yes - low level assembly language (VERY machine-specific).

    Lecture over... :red:

Have you ever seen an armadillo race? It's hard to keep them going toward the finish line. I'd love to see a UTA football game.

I intend to render some stills, since I have the armadillo.. just need to decide what animal to use for their first opponent team (lol)! WAIT, I NEED THE ALLIGATOR! :bug: :bug:

UAT ARMADILLOS VS TCN GATORS! TCN is the Trinity College of Necromancy... :vampire:

Strangely, I have mapped in my head a great deal of Vickys world.. magic, technology, and non-human inhabitants.. been done before, I know, but I have my own spin on it (heh heh heh)!

Humans and Dragons need sleep so they can use (or multi use) a web server simultaneously tomorrow. Machines don't sleep so they can execute a lot of tasks at once.

Hey only 11 sleeps until spring *happydance*

    Great example, Borg.

    Neat.
What model does that city come from? Also, the dragon, is that Dragon 3?

The city is City Block Eight by Dreamland models at Rendo. The dragon is the Ocean Queen Dragon from RDNA.

Both are fun to work with, but the City Block is HUGE! :bug:

I imagine Urban Sprawl 2 is even larger, judging by the promo pics. I have it, but...as you can guess...never used it yet. :red: I have a few of the City Block items, too. They have some low poly versions, too.

    Dana

U2 is split into quarters so is not so hard to manage as the whole thing :)

U2? where the streets have no name :)

trying to see the ocean queen draggie, rdna esstreemly slow

RDNA wouldn't even load for me. I took a peek at Rendo for the city blocks but I may need to wait for next payday. But I was actually able to get into my account at Rendo, which was a big surprise. The old email that it was tied too is gone the way of the dodo and I had forgotten to change it to my new email before I closed the old, so I thought I'd never recover Rendo. I didn't have a lot there, but it's nice to know that what I do have is still available.

a bunch of stuff i bought there is no longer in their store. it's sad kinda.

They'll probably bury me with my cane.. sigh.

Lunch time is bank run time, so will be on the bus in near 100f hea. :smirk: Gonna be baked Trout for lunch. :ahhh:

the golden thong makes me think of the golden helmet of mambrino

    DON QUIXOTE
    Hand over that golden helmet!

    BARBER
But this is a shaving basin!

    DON QUIXOTE
Shaving basin! Know thou not what this really is?
    The Golden Helmet of Mambrino!
When worn by one of noble heart, it renders
    him invulnerable to all wounds!

man of lamancha is public domain by now? i'm allowed to do a loose interpretation.
tee hee. something like men in tights, but to the man of lamancha, oh golden thong of mambrino. hmm can't imagine what a thong would have to do with barbers though.
casting Chris Hemsworth as Don quixote.

Fiancé is driving down to McAllen today, so all alone for lunch. We made sure I have a lunch since there not a restaurant within walking distance, and I'd melt before I got anywhere close to a bus stop. He's got to service two offices there so it'll be close to 6 before he can start back to Corpus, so it'll be late before he gets home. Blah...

I got a cane several years ago when my back went out. Even though I don't use it any more, I do still threaten my grandchildren (and children) with it. Plus, being lazy, if the cane is close, I can drag items to me without getting up and walking 2-3 feet.

Lunch - grilled chicken and greens salad, totally inoffensive but pretty tasty. Also nice that it's cold, it's too darn hot outside!

I need a contract in Alaska next Summer... :smirk:
