That's sad news indeed. I liked the HiveWire horse very much. That's the reason I created the centaur morphs for it...
I was very upset to see that HiveWire was closing. I actually just received the bad news. It hits me just as hard as when ContentParadise folded up. I know in both instances of HW and CP closings - store merchandise and content creators were/are given the chance to transfer their items to other locations (CP to DAZ and HW to Rendo), but that's when a lot of the old 3D content that we cherish vanishes forever. Not every content creator chooses to have their items moved, and some end up with their older products being permanently retired (or they retire). It's such a shame.
Guess we'll be down to two major 3D companies soon. I don't count TurboSquid, because much of their 3D content is un rigged and way too high priced for me, or much is not in a DAZ or Poser compatible format.

So happy he will have his birds somewhere, I was waiting to hear where he would sell them going forward. I don't shop alot at Rendo but looks like I will in the future as more and more of my favorite artists seem to be moving there.
It was RDNA that offered a move to Daz (and PoserPros before that). CP was either wherever they wanted or to Renderosity, as I recall.
I will be continuing my "transfer" policy of offering free updates to all purchasers of my products (no matter where you bought it) through and after my move. Hoping by the end of next year, I'll have all the bird sets updated, I'm about 2/3 done with the process (1,200+ birds is a lot of work to update).

They have the "Songbird Remix" series there, don't they? I bought some of those when they sold here.
I just realized mine may have updates. Haven't used them hardly since I bought them... always just planning to. Life got in the way and all that.

I love those birds. Just haven't had time, nor sufficient machine, to do the sorts of images I've wanted to do.
Looking forward to seeing what's new in your product line, as well. I'm slowly building a new machine... gonna need birds!!

Just spent a bomb over at HiveWire. My Christmas present to myself. So sad...sign o' the times.
Well, that's a shame, but not unsurprising either. HW3D should've leaned more heavily into their animals: that was the thing that set them apart from everyone else, IMHO. Dawn and Dusk left a lot to be desired as far as human figures go (not as versatile as Genesis, barely any vendor support outside of 2-3 people, and admittedly... pretty darn ugly looking compared to the Genesis line and LaFemme/Homme), but their animals and the variety they offered filled a pretty huge void that's over here in the Daz store.
That said, it's truly unfortunate when there's one less competition around. Competition makes for healthy markets and innovation, imho. I wish them all the best.
....I agree, their emphasis on animals and birds were their best offerings. Introducing another human figure was probably not the best move considering how Daz3D and Poser pretty much had that end sewn up. I remember there was another figure years ago named Apollo Maximus which was free, but even then, didn't go much of anywhere because of lack of support. (I think I still have him on backup media somewhere).
I pretty much purchased what I needed form their store a while back (mostly Lisa B's plants and some of Ken's birds). Only have the Cat because they offered it for free.(still waiting on Cat 8 though doubt it will use LAMH for the fur). May end up picking up a few of the cat breeds for which there are LAMH presets available.
Well, personally I think Dawn and Dusk are better looking than La Femme and L'Homme ... personal preferences.
Aaaand I like that they are working in DazStudio and Poser, because I like and use both (PP2014 non GameDev).
But yes, their animals are great.

So glad I purchased the Hivewire horse years ago even though I have DAZ Horse2. I recently bought some of the deer morphs and they are superb, especially when LAMH is added. Highly recommended
Purchasing the various birds and animals from Hivewire was one of those things that was always on my wishlist of things to do... I just never got around to it and assumed they'd alweys be there.
I knew the models were high quality, but just couldn't justify it because I didn't do that many outdoor renders. That changed in the past couple of months with the abundance of quality outdoor models here as well as the investment in better hardware that allowed the rendering of such.
Having a bit of extra discretionary cash also played into things...
In any case, I thought I would share a few of the birds, the big dog, Ultrascenery, and Skies of Economy.
Made a big purchase yesterday, and here's my first render with...possibly any HiveWire assets, come to think of it. Songbird Remix definitely wasn't meant to be rendered THIS close up.
