Anyone remember or know what Dr.Crusher's rank was at the end of Next Gen's TV run? Was it Lt.Commander or full Commander?

Memory alpha lists her as Commander

Commander Beverly Cheryl Crusher, MD, (née Howard) was the chief medical officer aboard the USS Enterprise-D and its successor, the USS Enterprise-E, both under the command of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. She briefly left her post as CMO of the Enterprise-D to become head of Starfleet Medical, only to return shortly after. She was a Fellow of the Academy of Starfleet Surgeons. (Sol Chapter). (TNG: "Encounter at Farpoint", "Attached", "The Child", "Evolution"; TNG-R: "Conundrum"; Star Trek: First Contact)

Okay. That's what I wanted to know. Although I always found it strange that a mere commander would be placed in charge of Starfleet Medical. That sounds more like an Admiral's job.

Under the heading, "Umm, yeah, so?" I have finally gotten around to posting my triangular doorway model at ShareCG:

    http://www.sharecg.com/v/79996/view/11/Poser/TriBulkhead

Warning - it's a really tight fit; the outer edges of the doorway trim are pretty much right up against any adjacent wall.

    lolz

I get the feeling nobody is interested in my phaser prop, nor willing to give me a hand in finalising it... I'll just shelf it then until my new PC is up and running.

Well, I could say I was interested but couldn't find a reference image for how it might be textured. Also, many are busy trying to fanthom the new D/S4.8 beta with its new render engine [which looks really good IF one can get it working lol ...]

Are you trying this for Poser, if so, I might be able to help out.

Cath, the image posted by Rschulte is the dustbuster.

R(ob?), not just for poser, unless you give it mtl6 material files which DS can read too these days. I think I may just opt to create some more mat zones and throw in some shaders... smartprops would have been nice, but then I'd need them for Gen5/Gen6 too.

This was my own design, with attached flashlight:

unfortunately I only have Poser, but I can give it a shot for M4 and V4. In left hand, right hand, and carried on left hip.

Here the NVent3d trailblazer for M4 (Poser). V4 is not available yet, but I hope to give it the same treatment..

I'm created mat files for ST:Cage, ST:TOS, and ST:JJA. For these, I'll use the default rankpins and combadges for the Trailblazer.

(looks I got a little work on the sleeves for JJA uniforms)

Great! To show off the flexibility of the trailblazer m4 mesh, I'm going to want to also add the texture for the kelvin uniforms with this.. To part from my normal non-canon "battle bodysuits" that I like to create, I'm going to try and stay only with the star trek canon designs for these nvend3d uniforms.

As I don't have the trailblazer expansion set for poser, I'm not sure how it will effect the texture maps yet. I not a real big fan of the ranking system on the uniform sleeves so this wont bother me personally, but I'm certain there are a lot of people who would want it. So if anyone here has the expansion set for genesis, please let me know if this is different, if so, I can hold off with these set until after the expansion set is released.

Any installation suggestions for the G2 versions of the Trailblazer outfits? I bought the bundle and, not being a normal D|S user, I don't know much about troubleshooting it, but they don't show up in my library (gotta say, to me, the metadata make D|S harder to use the way I want to); frankly, if I'd know the M4 and V4 versions were coming, I'd have waited ;).

Ptrope here is the basics, keep in mind I dont use poser so I make the support files blind and because of that it can be hit and miss to get them to work.

Unzip the Ds files into the directory that houses your "runtime" folder.
Then unzip the PCf or dson support files into your runtime folder.
Then try to troubleshoot using this:
    http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dson_importer/poser/userguide/dson_importer_usage/tutorials/using_dson_importer/start

basically after I make a DS Genesis 2 outfit I have two people with DS and Poser test both versions, but that is the limit of how I can test them.

If you want feel free to IM me, or email me at nvent3d@gmail.com I can try to walk you through it as much as I can.
