wancow's (rather common) misspelling of "canon" reminds me... has anyone ever modeled the laser cannon from The Cage?

(somewhat-snarky screenshot attached ... but I'm sure folks can use it in discussions on what is and isn't canon)

I could have sworn I saw it somewhere. But it's not on the freebie list.

    XCalPro has "The Cage" cannon.

BTW, that 'Here's your Star Trek cannon/canon" image is something I slapped together to "deflate" overly "enthusiastic debates" at the TrekBBS.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Nice seeing my freebie being put to good use, Wancow. :)

I love the whole premis of the ISC. They're sortof like the Federation, except their idea of a Prime Directive is for everyone to live in peace under ISC control. That little pistol you made, which I've had for a while, just seemed to fit. Though the Thorge are supposed to have three fingers :( Dunno how to make that happen.

Hopefully, SOMEDAY, I'll complete the ship sent out to "Pacify" our region of space...

here's where I'm at with her after five false starts:

There's also the fact that in one of the movies- "Wrath of Khan" I think- the Saladin-class was seen on one of the bridge monitors, which would seem to validate the design.

    Not bad at all, wancow.

I've been trying to build some myself, but always seem to be reluctant to finish them, or am just not ready to turn it into a figure.

Just dropping in to say hi. Big storm in area and uploading pics. so it may be a little while before I can add the links.

Yes there are a few missing items from the freebie list as several links were broken between the communications of forum software and programs.

I'm also working on making new mesh for the Engineering set 'cause I'd like one that works with D/S4.7+
Using a little artistic license ... and whether it gets completed or not is another matter too. So far the shell is about 2/3 done.

This is a work in progress, so bare with me...

USS Kalehari, originally part of the pathfinder project at Utopia Planetia, has been refitted to form a test bed for civilian use... at least that's the official story, as a replacement for the obsolete raven class. At a length of 170 meters, she's just a bit larger then the Defiant class and uses the same engines. Ablative hull plating, identical weaponry, fitted with a (federation) cloaking device and modernised after the return of Voyager. Two delta flyer class shuttles and two workbees complete the refit. Aboard is a crew of 48, most attached to Starfleet intelligence and some to starfleet (pilots) or the Maco's.

Under the guise of 'civilian' testing, this ship is equipped to head into the gamma quadrant to map, study and gather intelligence.

There's a very basic shuttle bay in the rear, to allow for shuttle landing renders.

    Still to be added:
    torpedo tubes
    pulse phaser cannons
    Cargo doors

Yeah, got the same problem. Still haven't figured out how to go about the windows... lol. Lots of stuff to learn yet, but at least I am trying.

You made some good progress though.

oh, windows are easy. I use booleans to cut them out then assign a new material group to windows.

Wouldn't it be easier to use texture naps? Then you can put windows wherever you want- as many as you want- and you can use the texture maps to make your light maps- at least in Poser.

Thanks for the TNG lift mdbruffy. Very cool.

Anyone else having issues downloading from Deviantart? It's loading pages pretty slowly too.
