Morning. Dawn broke its pink and yellow promise of a sunny day, grey clouds are rolling in like like dead seaweed on a rising tide, iz hard to make out if tiny patches of blue are coming or going *peers* :)

I find that many promises are broken. But life goes on.

Me, neither! I thought it was only that center building. But the write-up says buildings and roads.

ps1borg: is that highway overpass included as well?

Still on the expensive side for me, though. It stays in my wishlist, I guess.

It isn't as large, reworked/kit bashed for three times the space I'm afraid. Original plan and original kinda the same shot:

Blech, right shoe blew out last night, taped up - emergency Walmart run this morning to buy a new pair. Blech, blech, blech.

    :blank:

However, they have a coin changing machine so I can finally exchange my bag of spare change for paper money, and it will help defray the cost of shoes. Plus, there's a nice liquor store nearby so I can get some fancy beer for the weekend and just hole up at home, so that part is good!

Almost time to head out for breakfast.. I hope the taped up shoe holds out or I'm going to be running around in one shoe and one sock for a while... :-S :long:

Yeah - walking home last night, tripped over the sole of my right shoe which had come off from the top! :ahhh: Made it home, taped it up but it was obviously irreparable.. Got a new set of fancy black hiking shoes, super comfy, fits over my ankle brace, etc. etc. - $60 but should last a while.

Home now... bus runs only once every two hours on a Saturday. :blank: Trying to render a swamp but this dang thing is polygon-and-texture heavy so it's taking forever. Maybe go out for a beer after a rest.. sitting at a bus stop for an hour, pacing around, kinda wore me out with the heat and all. :long:

    Need... more... water..

...well tomorrow begins my return to the working world. Odd hours to start 13;30 - 22:00 so no point in a major shopping trip as I'm not about to cook a full meal after 23:00 at night. Only a 30 min lunch break and nothing but an overpriced mini mart within walking distance so looks like packing in a cold sandwich lunch 5 days a week for the next 6 weeks *bleah*.

Will only be able to do home cooked stuff on the weekends.

Unfortunately the "early" training shift begins before the buses start running out in that area.

Hopefully after the training I'll be put on a more "civil" schedule. Not thrilled with the idea of waiting over 25 min for a bus after 22:00 every night pretty much out in the "boonies".

Congrats on starting the new job!

Bleah on the circumstances, though... :long:

    Best of luck!

...thank you. Fortunately the odd hours are only temporary.

However I discovered the commute is far more "involved" than it should be. If I take the trip planner's "suggested" connections, I have to sit around for nearly 50 minutes before I start. As I mentioned there is literally nothing else out there save for a mini mart gas stop. Going home is just as bad if not worse, for, the "suggested" trip involves not only the 25 min wait, but over a mile walk from the last bus I take to home (after 11:00pm), not something I look forward to after putting in a whole day. Ended up having to "cobble together" my own connections myself to get something to work but it involves three buses each way.

Two of the suggestions from the trip planner that involve a shorter wait after work had me going even further east (about two miles) out of my way, then back west to get home (who programmes these things?).

I'm hoping someone in my session who drives goes in my direction and I can carpool home at least. Even if it's relatively close, it will save time and worry about standing around waiting for buses late at night.

Hopefully once I get my regular schedule, it will sync up with better bus connections.

I feel your pain.. there's only one bus that goes past here and it runs every 45 minutes, the one I take from home to/from the bus stop run every hour and ten minutes.. the trip planner here sends me downtown and back out! :bug: Finally used the system map and found my own trip.. geesh.. I guess Tulsa's planner was written by the same guy that did yours! :ahhh:

Maybe they're paid off by the cab companies to make the bus route so bad that folks are willing to pay a little more to take the taxi!

    Dana
...wouldn't surprise me as the city bends over backwards for the cab companies. Taxi rates here are obscene as well, the fare between home and work would be more than a half a day's pay as they aren't just based on distance but time as well. I've seen the meter click off 1.50$ - 2$ just while sitting at a long traffic light.

    :blank: :P

...perched here at the hotspot listening to the tunas they're playing while skating though the forums just for the halibut. Holy mackerel, 76 pages and I'm only on #62! So much catch-up to do, so little taimen anymore.

Nice summery day, as I'm inside all eek, need to catch some rays as well as a few pintadas at the pub.

Guess I'm just bullheaded about enjoying what little personal life I have.

    ...laterz.
