Perhaps because it's (quite possibly) the game that KyotoKid's always talking about

Dragonfall bah, for ten years I've been musing about having a story with that name. Always thought I was so clever for thinking about it, and now I can't even use it becuase someone else did :<

Yes and no. KK is referencing the now about 25-year-old tabletop RPG that was the inspiration for the computer games. I played some 1st and 2nd edition Shadowrun, but nothing in the last decade or so. Didn't like the way third was going, and I'm not really a fan of dystopian RPGs myself, so I went back to 3.5 D&D, Pathfinder, and old-school Star Wars (WEG d6).

Why does construction have to be so loud?

It is what it is. But I wish they wouldn't start at 8:00 am. They're building a garage add-on a few houses away. I didn't get to bed until around 4:00, and didn't really get to sleep until probably 5:15 or later. 8:00 came and they were out there banging away. :shut:

Does Fallout 1/2/Tactics/3 count as 'Dystopian'? :)

Never cared much for New Vegas. Just wasn't as attractive as Fallout 3 for some reason. Sure the "You can't be friends with EVERY FACTION" thing was nice, but the problem for me was I just didn't like any of the factions
Well, two of 'em were 'okay' but they just didn't have the same charm as 2 and 3.

I guess overall I'm just not too big on RPG's. Never really got into the 'traditional' ones or their cRPG counterparts, and many current RPG's either just don't interest me or don't hold my attention for long.

Mm though one of my close friends plays 3.5D&D with customized 'house rules' with a bit of Pathfinder blended in. Mostly plays small short-and-quick scenarios with his feymire alligator companion, enemies generally consist of goblinz, skeletons, and other 'minor' non-dragon things... Has a lot of almost-innocent fun, actually kinda made me interested
(Might help a little bit that we're both very fond of the 'Swallow Whole' ability hah. I think he prefers the old method for calculating damage as opposed to Pathfinder's simpler calculations with that ability, IIRC it went from [Variable physical dmaage] + [Fixed Acid damage] to just simply doing some variable Acid. Regardless, it suits both of our 'interests' ;P )

I've never liked "Deep" RPGs either. The ones that have thousands of potential decisions and many morally questionable choices to make, like Avernum and some of Fallout, Baldur's Gate? Not really my thing. I appreciate it from a storwritting standpoint, but I always end up feeling.... Uneasy I guess... When actually playing it. Often never end up finishing them, and never pick them back up again once I do. I never can play a 'bad character' in Fallout because I always start feeling terrible XD
Each and every one of my characters always ends up as Good/PureGood (Sometimes Neutral, but with quests and responses I've almost always went the 'good' route because the 'evil' route always, well... Gets to me ^^; )

I'm sure that if I had bought CivilizationIV on Steam it'd be on the top of the Most Played list instead

I've already got it on Amazon so I don't see any need to re-buy it.

I checked out my friend (Spikeheila)'s page a few months back, and she had 820+ hours clocked for Dino D-Day o.o
Given that an average round in that only lasts a few minutes (7 ~ 10 minutes at most, and generally only on the larger maps) that's a lot of playtime XD
It's probably gone to like 900 now.

She was volunteering as a beta-tester at one point too, and was given the opportunity to assist with the (Currently unreleased) DLC for it. Her buddy (Xane) is helping with the German localization. I kinda envy them sometimes, always get to work on such interesting things :)
(Spike also assisted with beta-testing Primal Carnage before it was released. Though it didn't live up to expectations, she got to meet the guy who animated the dinosaurs and became friends with him :) )

Must be morning. I've been up for an hour. Late to bed, early to rise--makes for a very looongg day.

I wonder how many here in the US got this reference?
Need to search online for albums. Havn't been able to find any of DeBurgh's stuff stores in the US since Into the Light.

Everything in the sale is working today giving me nothing to complain about. That's not fair, now what am I supposed to do?
