1 in the pm already. havent even opened my door to greet the day yet.
cabbage really is king of stink tee hee
Well doesn't look like I need to cache then export and re-import a Smoke/Fire sim for Redshift to be able to render it, unsure if there's any benefits to going that route as opposed to just smacking a Volume shader onto the ExplosiaFX object, unless the Redshift Volume Object can serve as a replacement for the Solver (Which is still set to adaptive here, don't know what the big glow is though)
Still working out things since my first time using this, did have to set the coefficient values down real low for the color and stuff, not sure if I'm doing any of this right so just taking random stabs until stuff looks interesting.
Also, why the Animated Gifs no work? Am I supposed to upload them somewhere instead of here? I tried to link to a Google Drive upload of it but it just showed up as a big red <X> in the preview :/
bugs me the way it ended for the hound in GOT, he deserved better
The last season did basically every character dirty, and ignored the motivations and character growth that characters had spent the entire run of the show developing.
Why did I start playing Pokémon go again? I rarely leave the home due to COVID!
I used Cycles 4D rather than Redshift, but even using C4D's default renderer, the material included with X-Particles allows rendering. I've never had to export and re-import a sim to render it.
The forum software really doesn't like animated gifs. On the few occasions I've posted them here, I had to host them on Imgur. I've also had no luck hotlinking images from OneDrive, and I can imagine Google Drive has the same problem.
the second they showed Jamie and Bran meeting again, didnt think Jamie's redemption was gonna stick.
Oh yeah I used Cycles4D for a long while when I first subbed to R23, since I didn't feel like adding Vray to my monthly costs. I'd used that for years with R13 Visualize, but seeing the modern Vray's gone Subscription-Only and at $80 (on top of Cinema's cost + my GSG-U sub) I went to look for an alternative. Redshift seemed like the nigh-universally adopted one with Octane being the other, and Redshift's included in one of the C4D subs so went with that. I still use Cycles here and there though at times.
I was following along with one of GSG's tutorials making some rain splashes, and they use one of the native XP mats for the drops, but Redshift can't render those it seems, and no kinds of materials I've tried using seem to have an effect. Looks like they're Trail objects though, haven't gotten around to learning about those just yet.
Yeah I'm not sure why all these tutorials - except for PixelLab's - all went with "Export cache then Re-Import it" for their XP-Redshift processes :o
Complaint tho: Desktop had a "Crash but not a crash" again, third one this weekend, and this time it corrupted a project file. I'd be working with a project and while moving through the timeline, my desktop 'partially' shuts down.
This is what happens:
-Usually, I'm moving through the timeline
-In every case, X-Particles objects are present in the scene in some way (From what I can remember, uncached sims are present)
-Monitor and Keyboard both power down
-The GPU is also powered down (The lights on it are off)
-The *rest of my desktop* is 'powered on'. The lights, the Power: ON switch, etc
-Pressing and pressing/holding the Power button does nothing.
-Flipping the I/O switch on the back does nothing.
-Only unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in lets it launch again
Only when X-Particles objects are present, and far as I can remember, only when a sim isn't cached or fully cached and scrubbing through the timeline. I've checked, and my Nvidia driver is up to date hnm...
Update: Managed to partially recover the scene, but more than half of it is missing. Most of the objects are gone, the cameras and lights are gone, but the particle cache is still there and the materials are all still there.
Well at least some of it is there :/
I just got a pop up asking if I want to join the Daz community. I'm still trying to decide if I do want to or not, I guess?
I think I won't decide until 2024 as it takes me 20 years to decide? Now trying to put emoji in right spot!![devil devil](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/devil_smile.png)
I love Cinema 4D. But I could buy a new computer for the amount that it costs... Oh heck... That's just a "dream" amount of money to me anyway.
Yet again, I find myself considering going back to drawing. I've lost a lot of confidence over the years (thanks to a troll on an art site), and Daz has filled that void. But there are some things that you can do on paper, that you can't do on a computer. Plus, I've spent most of my time looking over Etsy in the past few months. I'd love to create acrylic charms (but, yet again, it's chalked down as being another dream).
Wow... I forgot how rendering hair in 3Delight was such a pain in the a... Even with PW Toon, it's still amazingly slow. I thought it'd be faster with upgraded RAM (old) and an SSD. The SSD has helped with Iray loading times, but it's totally opposite with 3Delight and hair.
I know how that feels, on both notes .__.
There's a lot of things I'd draw that are tough to replicate in 3D haha~
I wanted a computer that costs about 2 thousand but I had to cut that in half due to bank limitations.
just saw an ad for the new suicide squad movie, whos gonna sit in a movie theatre with that new strain goin round ?
am parched.
need a cold old fashioned rootbeer like at the grandma diner on 8th.
ooo make that a rootbeer float.![kiss kiss](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/kiss.png)
I might have, if the movie was better, I could be sure of not getting eight ideological messages, and they were serving chili dogs with the popcorn and beer.
I've been vacinated, so I refuse to be afraid. Sure, I'm careful, and I mask up if the business I'm going into asks for it.
But I'm more fearful that we're all losing our humanity and abiltiy to relate and love each other. Because as amazing as the human race seems to be, our real super power; the real strength in us, is in our societies. We were not made to be completely devoid of real, physical human interaction. When humans avoid each other in large numbers, it stunts our growth and limits our ingenuity. Even with computers, even with skype meetings.
i'd prolly go for deadpool3. worth it for the big screen.
mmm tortelinni brodo. sluuurrrrpppp, light broth hits the spot. yumm ahhh!
...the other nice part, you don't need to be concerned with the tech curve, as well as you don't need ot worry about details like lumens and ISO and secularity and SSS and optimising and all that other stuff 3D art requires.
Yeah you may have to buy more paper , pencils inks & such when you run, or if you paint, canvas or watercolour paper and paints as well as brushes when one wears out. but that is it.
Complaint: I lied yesterday about my baby-bear computer. I said that I'd installed the 4-port USB3.0 card. I haven't
I thought surely by the end of the day the package would arrive, it was scheduled to arrive, the other product from Amazon (the cooler) had arrived that day. But at the end of the day, no USB3 card. Nothing except an email saying "Something happened!" to my package on it's last leg from the local distribution point 5 miles away.** Checking my Amazon "Orders" page it says that the "Driveway was not available" and "USPS will try again."
"Driveway not available"? WTF, he never uses the driveway anyway, just parks at the neighbors and walks across the lawn to my side porch, it's the fastest way to get to my porch. Besides, the driveway is deep rutted and covered with rocks. IDU![indecision indecision](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/whatchutalkingabout_smile.png)
** This is the 2nd time "Something happened", to one of my computer parts packages after having reached the local distribution point 5 miles away.![frown frown](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/confused_smile.png)
Non-Complaint: I may not be able to afford it but I love browsing auction catalogs for things I collect, just to become aware of the beautiful things that exist. Just found this unique carving of a Rhinosaurus out of white/gray Hetian Jade.
I'm in love! ![heart heart](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/heart.png)

Where did I put my aquarium siphon? I want to do a water change!
Did you check your sock drawer?... They both start with "s" so maybe...?
I'm assuming you checked the siphon cabinet or wherever you keep your other siphons... also check the top of your head, that where I find my sunglasses every time I look for them... I also find pencils and pens stashed behind my ear hours after I've given up looking for them.
Pehaps one of your roommates thought it was a fun looking straw and borrowed it to drink their pork chop smoothie with?
This probably isn't helpful, you'll never find it where you think you will, it will always be in the least expected spot imaginable.
Maybe start there and work backwards alphabetically.
One working trick is, instead of the siphon, start looking for something completely different.
I'm purely digital with my art, Photoshop CS5 that I've had for an eternity and a Wacom tablet :) Only needed to replace a cable once, it's otherwise been my setup since forever now.
I hate being on hold.
i been trying to call ssa to make an appt about disability. it puts me on hold a long time then hangs up. is one way to cut down on claims.
Complaint: Some loser clipped my bumper and took off while I was waiting at a light... I was stopped for a while and dipsh*t must been moving fast because the screeching of his tires was not a quick thing.
Luckily I just took off the hitch mounted carrier rack, which I've been using for the past week... his crappy Jeep probably would have snagged it and caused real damage.
Theres no real damage, just a large deep scuff in the paint, but still if I were to take it to a shop that's at least $600 minimum... also I'm lucky I was further over to the right or it would have been full contact, not a glancing blow...
Not only did he hit my car, the little wiener blew the red light fleeing.
I'm kinda pissed off still, this was an hour ago, but I'm annoyed I didn't even get his plate number as he never actually slowed down and just took off... that and my daughter (who was with me) wouldn't let me look for him, because she didn't believe I just wanted to have a friendly chat about proper driving etiquette... and also she ratted me out for looking for the peckerhead, to my wife who has banned me from "inappropriate displays of malicious intent"...
Grrr...
Wife and I started watching Kill la Kill last night, and I can't recommend it enough. It feels like the writing process consisted entirely of asking "what's the craziest thing that could possibly happen here?". It is the absolute most, all the time.
I don't understand how to set up Team Render for Cinema, so I can have my laptop pitch in whenever I end up with an animation that's more than 150 frames long. There's my 'plaint for now. <Scurries off back to work now that lunch break is over>
It took me a bit of fiddling (and at least one video tutorial), but I was able to make it do SOMETHING, at least. I'll see if I can hunt down the tutorial I used, but it was probably the first or second result when you Google "C4D team render". Also, if you're using anything other than default or physical renderer, you'll need to have a license for the additional computer(s) as well, and I'm not sure if your subscription includes that.
