Well this was an interesting find :D

Free-to-use "kitbash" models ranging from sci-fi optical elements to cables to armor pieces to hydraulic elements and all the things. Much fun :)
Pretty detailed too (Tho might need texturing / UV'ing - but 'parametric materials or shaders can work as well)

There is a LW modeller plugin that makes nurnies, called quad panels I think :)

Hello! It's 21F here right now, at 11:31 am. Feels like 7F. Weather.com says the low tonight will be -5F. That's the temperature, not the wind chill! Still snowing. My picket fence is nearly buried. One corner is buried. It's going to be a long shoveling day tomorrow!

It doesn't look so good, either. And here it is 9:08 pm and the wind is still roaring every now and then.

The oddest thing...with all that deep snow, I can see the pavement right in front of the front gate. Two feet away, I won't see the grass until April! Snow drifts are funny things.

Well, it's 12:30 am...and the temperature here is...0F, feels like -20F! I had to go out just about a half hour ago, to check on the vents for the heating system. I shoveled a little to be sure it wouldn't drift up to them. Of course, there's no guarantee of that...it's really windy out there, still. I am not looking forward to shoveling tomorrow. And guess what? Tuesday morning it will be snowing...again! Another 3 to 6 inches. And at the end of the 7 day forecast I saw more snow on Sunday! I would raise the white flag...but I don't think anyone would see it because of all the snow!

695 ooh. Pity the offer is only valid for the next six days haha, dunno if they'd accept an outdated Cinema 4D version anyway ^^

It prolly would. Think a copy of Studio or Photoshop would get you there as well :)

*Edit* Checked and I have enough to get it - barely - but ultimately I feel I'll have to pass. The odds I'll actually do anything with it or even spend the effort to learn it are terribly low - and that's being hopeful about it.

Well I'm a few hundred short right now anyway so

LW is still on my wishlist though, not that I really got the motivation and focus to dedicate myself to learning two big programs at once eee..
Studio? Ee, I don't have anything with Studio in it's name :o
    Do have Zbrush tho.

feh to the $ shortness ! The x grade seems to come around a couple of times a year so far. So maybe next time. You don't so much "learn" LW, the animation stuff just works, on the whole, without too much setup. Modeller can be a complicated as you want it to be. You make your own GUIs, there are next to no presets, just a bunch of animated scene setups to see what stuff does.

    See my edited post :)

I've got just enough to get it - assuming they accept the programs I do have (CS5 Extended Photoshop (Upgrade), Zbrush R4, C4D Visualize 13) - however, given my current track record with "learning" programs after buying them.... I'm almost positive it'd be better to pass on it.

5:30AM.. and there's FROZEN WATER FROM THE SKY covering everything!!

Looks like about 2 inches.. weather forecast says 3-7, with some sleet.. I'm think today is going to be a SNOW DAY. :bug:

Thankfully, I have leftover soups, pizza, land plenty of deit soda so I can just hole up and wait until tomorrow. High today of only 32F, but tomorrow it'll hit 41F and all this will melt off.

I'll spend the day working on music and art, while seeing if we hit 7 inches of snow.. that's supposed to happen a bit further North of me.

I bet I couldn't get a cab in this stuff, anyway... :blank:

That is true, even in the smallest of gardens (yards) This was taken in Jan 2010 when we had loads of snow, and Fred seems to be trying to work out what happened to the steps up to the next level, which are buried in the snow drift.. :coolsmirk: You can see where he climbed up the first set of steps to get where he is shown.

@Dana: You have probably finished off your birthday pie by now so here's a belated birthday cake. I sincerely hope the 14th was a wonderful birthday for you in spite of all the snow. Take it easy on the shoveling.

@ps1borg: Sorry about the fire danger alerts. I don't like fires since I lost my uncle to a pasture fire in the 1970s. Too unpredictable and dangerous.

Had stopped snowing, but it fired up again with a vengeance. Definitely a SNOW DAY! :ahhh:

Sipping coffee and egg drop soup, will have to go out to pay rent but that's all of about 30 yards, whew! :gulp:

Watching cars spin out in the parking lot.. and the cab service told me they only had 7 drivers out for the whole city.. good thing I loaded up on food! I even found a can of chili so that's going to be lunch!! :cheese:

I wonder if I should go pay rent now, before the show gets any worse.. urgh..

Paid rent, now have hot fresh coffee! :cheese:

3-1/2/ inches of snow on the stairs I had to kick off to get down, and then clear a wider path coming back up. This is a family-run place and they're all getting up there, so snow clearing isn't likely to happen until it thaws. :blank: But there's a path for ME if I have to go 0ut again, so there!

Tomorrow should be better as it should stop having FROZEN WATER FROM THE SKY :ahhh: before evening rolls around.

Nice day to sit, sip, compose, and continue to download all my darn content! :blank:

ps. Did I mention I hate snow with a fiery vengeance? :snake:

I forgot to mention, the official total for yesterday's snow in Taunton was 14.9 inches. We may have gotten a little mroe than that here, the National Weather Bureau is in the other side of Taunton, we're in East Taunton. Taunton is pretty big, area-wise. Twenty minutes east/southeast of us a town got 22.5 inches. It takes me about fifteen or twenty minutes to get to where the NWB is. So we're a little less than half way to that higher total area.
