easter candy is out in the grocery store. candyyy ... i meant carrots, healthy easter carrots.

    and easter peeeps

Easter candy already??? They will not give us any rest, will they. Today is Ash Wednesday. There are 40 days of Lent until Easter and they're already selling the candy. :-/ Somehow I completely missed Mardis Gras this year. I usually do something silly, but it sneaked up on me this year, so no silliness.

Peeps are evil. Pure evil. But, OTOH, any excuse to buy chocolate is OK with me. We're still working on Valentine's Day chocolate.

And lest this one sneak up on you, tomorrow is Chinese New Year (Lunar New Year)! :-)

Complaint: Daz Studio is slow. Maybe I should reboot my 6-core computer. Deep shadow maps don't usually take 4 minutes to render. Even the ray-traced shadows take long to render. I did not change any thing in this scene since I loaded it a few weeks ago. Last month, the deep shadow maps only took 1 minute to render.

    edit: clarified situation.

Only two more days, then the weekend. Looks like Misty will be above freezing. Yippee! Here's hoping for a moderate weekend where each of you lives.

The redbud tree on the north side of my house has burst into bloom. The one on the south side always blooms about a week later. Wild verbena has been in bloom for a little over a week. We still have time for a really bad winter hit before the month is over.

Misty, elevate your feet every chance you get. Don't just sit down--Get your feet UP on something. BTW, you've have made tremendous progress with Carrara. I sure haven't.

Dana, I think you should go after that snow with a flamethrower.

Slimer, thanks for the reminder about this being Ash Wednesday. No wonder my Tuesday night TV shows weren't on. Rats! Guess I better get the weekly gifts out to the curb for the garbage truck.

Hasta luego, mis amigos and amigas.

A Meteorologist is the only degreed professional that can be wrong every day of the week and still keep their job.

The Magic 8-ball only gives answers to questions that can be answered Yes or No. Sometimes the answer is indeterminate. It's just like that machine in the Twilight Zone episode with William Shatner in the cafe. There are many magic 8-balls online. Here's one:

I recently saw a local forecast for snow that said the timing of the snow "can not be determined at this time".
If that doesn't sound like it came right off a Magic 8-Ball™ I'll eat my orange hat.

Yes, but you still have to ask a yes/no question to get meaningful answers from the 8-ball. (9 foot tongue planted in cheek).

"Will it snow in the next 4 hours?"
"Best not to tell you at this time."

    "Will it snow tomorrow?"
    "It is decidedly so!"

    "Will this snow ever end?"
    "Answer unclear, ask again later"

I have a rule: Never ask the magic 8-ball more than 3 questions in a row. If you do more, that way leads to madness!
