Eighty-five minutes, eesh xD
Hoping that we don't spark an AV security war but I agree, Norton support has always been very helpful and always fixed my problem that had seemed to me to be fatal until I gave in and contacted them.
Personally I like some of Norton's security products and distrust some other brands. But security software is like mail applications and browser software, it's a religious issue driven by zealots, marketing, anecdotal evidence and pseudo science. I gave up trying to convert people away from their church of choice.
I don't know if one can even talk to Norton on the phone anymore but I prefer chat lines anyway. I prepare a good descriptive paragraph of my situation ahead of time and then make a cup of coffee put TV video on my secondary monitor, initiate the chat session, cut & paste the paragraph into the first dialog, lean back in my office chair and wait. Yeah, chatting takes a little while and yeah you have to know how to type but if you can't type you shouldn't be anywhere near a computer. Chat sessions leave little room for misunderstanding or "I said, he said" battles. And I am always very polite and write in full and complete sentences except when simple one word replies are expected. I don't get angry, the technician doesn't get angry, we don't have accent problems, and the job gets done. Norton, for me, has always solved my issue. I can however understand the frustration that the technicians must have when they have to deal with total noobs with broken "cup holders", missing "any keys", or massive chips on their shoulders :-S
And for those who think that based on my history in these forums that I have a massive chip on my shoulder, it ain't true! >:-( I admit that I carry a pointed stick and poke the beast du-jour now and then but only to wake it up or get it moving a little faster. :vampire:
achio Spring!
totally different from what i thought she was singing:
A clouded dream on an earthly night
Hangs upon the crescent moon
A voiceless song in an ageless light
Sings at the coming dawn
Birds in flight are calling there
Where the heart moves the stones
It's there that my heart is longing for
All for the love of you
A painting hangs on an ivy wall
Nestled in the emerald moss
The eyes declare a truce of trust
And then it draws me far away
Where deep in the desert twilight
Sand melts in pools of the sky
When darkness lays her crimson cloak
Your lamps will call, call me home.
And so it's there my homage's due
Clutched by the still of the night
And now I feel, feel you move
Every breath is full
So it's there my homage's due
Clutched by the still of the night
Even the distance feels so near
All for the love of you.
A clouded dream on an earthly night
Hangs upon the crescent moon
A voiceless song in an ageless light
Sings at the coming dawn
Birds in flight are calling there
Where the heart moves the stones
It's there that my heart is longing for
All for the love of you.

You could look forward to more of my stories about the manure factory!

I've considered that it might be a good setting for an opening of the TV show "Bones". Picture it. The big stainless steel tanker truck is slurping its fetid load into the tank when the flow slows to a trickle. Messy efforts to dislodge the obstruction in the pipe result in a partially fleshed mucky arm emerging from the pipe. The forensic team is called in and their efforts to get the arm out are followed by other pieces of chunky effluent and a rush of gallons and gallons of juice spraying onto the forensic team. Leading to the necessity to drain the entire pond and filter it and tromp around in the remaining goo looking for body parts.
Perhaps I should send the writers a note.
Crikey, I'm behind again.
A body was found mixed in with the recyclables at the Travis Co Recycling Center a few days ago. Not mine.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :ahhh:
Obviously...unless you're one of those talking heads in a bottle, like on Futurama!
And thankfully.

Tedious day today. :blank: Hunting for a sneaky bug in a pile of real-time code is painful. especially when if you set a breakpoint at a bad place the power chips on the board start to smoke. :ahhh:
Still, a nice V8 and my raptor mug full of coffee help lift my spirits. :)
Maybe I'll have a salad or gyro for lunch.. yum! :cheese:
Bought the Humble Bundle last night, will install it all tonight. Fun... :-S

...same here for me. They've always been very helpful. I use chat as well. I also complete any post session surveys, giving good marks to the technician who helped me solve the issue. Having worked for a while in a call centre, I understand the pressure cooker these people are in.
I also like the idea of writing up the issue beforehand. Will have to adopt that for all future CS chat sessions.
However, on the other hand, there's Comcast/XFinity, sheesh, does anyone in their CS department speak/write in English as a first language? Do they even have customer service centres here in the US anymore?
...well, feeling a bit better today. Voice is back. Still have a nagging cough. The catch is I have to renew my state medical plan, however the office is a fair bike ride away (involving a few minor hills) and not sure I should exert myself that much yet.
That ginger beer (non alcoholic BTW) really did help clear the throat quite well. Need to get more of it.
Supposed to hit 72° today 80° by the weekend/early next week. Too broke though to go to the pub and sit outside in the sun Odd that a pint of "so-so" beer costs less than a 16 oz cup of coffee these days. Crikey, Frappuccinos are something like 5$ now, one of those and a pastry, and I'm out 7 - 8$! :ohh:
At one of the pubs I frequent (which has outside seating), I can get 3 pints of beer for that and leave a tip.
...saw this in the store. Finally Leela can have freckles again.

Wishlisted for now.

I've always had a native English speaker on any of my calls to the Comcast/XFinity customer service line. And in recent years they've been a lot more helpful than in previous decades. Maybe it's just your local. Speaking of them, I have to call and find out where the nearest physical location is. My remote is bugging out quickly. More and more buttons are becoming unresponsive until I press several times. It gets to be a pain. There used to be one downtown, but it's gone. I don't know if they moved elsewhere in town or have totally abandoned the city. I know that I can go to any one of them, and I pass one by when I'm out out town for a doctor or dentist appointment, but I always forget to take it with me.

Keep getting better!
6.2% Rolling Rock here is $4, so with tip call it $5. Add a shot of Tito's to that and you're at $10 with top, which isn't cheap but is acceptable - and beats the $1.50 "Bud Light" during happy hour  .
75F here right now.. but I barely have any beer money left! The Cimmaron has an outdoor patio, I should hit it on the way home since it's supposed to rain from tomorrow morning until Sunday afternoon. :long:
Cute! Wishlisted. :)

I want that but it has to go to my wishlist too.

...I use chat instead. Easier for me as I can have my account information pulled up on one system while chatting on the other (and it doesn't cost minutes on my phone plan, really annoying when you get put on hold) Most likely this is why I get the offshore techs. The physical centre used to be a "reasonable" walk or short bike ride away. Since they relocated, it is now a 5$+ three bus connection round trip on our transit system, very inconvenient.
Just got the employee handbook on my tablet. Found out that I am supposed to have one set of earrings which I am not sure what that means. I consider one set meaning all holes in the ears has matching earrings. Not going to ask to clarify as that might cause troubles for me. Last November or December when I started my job I got two new holes in my ear and I do not want them to close forcing me to redo them. Actually one was new the other was redoing of one that closed due to me taking a break from earrings. I have four lower holes and an upper hole in each ear.
Lest ye think I be kidding about the manure factory.
good to know you safe and sound!
band on the run ... BAND on the RUN ... on the run since the 70s
all the bands and singers i liked in the mid 70s are like 40 years older now

Eeeeehheeee! Look what just came in the mail for me today <3

Including Import Fees and Shipping&Handling;, it came to $155 for these four, but I think it was worth it. They're so cute and plushy and soft and cute <3
