There never was a Commercial 3D Print Add-On License as such - anyone wishing to make commercial prints had to contact sales directly - so there was nothing real to be removed there.
As far as I know the old Game Developer Licenses remain fully active (indeed, I would think they must) though of course they no longer have product pages.
Thank you for explaining
Thanks for looking into this for us, Richard.
Earlier this week (tuesday July 26th), we had one of these "complete your bundle collection" promotions, and I grabbed a couple of bundles I had completed, and even some I had nearly completed.
Some of the parts of these bundles I bought, I already purchased a while ago, like, the X-Bit Pilot Star from the Space Explorers Bundle. However, the purchase of the Space Explorers Bundle seems to have reset my purchase date for the X-Bit Pilot Star, so I can't get a free license for that seperate part either. The same thing happened with basically every bundle I completed this way: all components that I bought previously had their purchase date reset to the purchase date of the bundle they were in.
Another odd thing: the Bank Heist Bundle doesn't seem to have a 3D printing license attached to it at all. It's seperate components do, though.
I would open a support ticket on this.
Searched "bundle" in my product library and added licenses for all the DOs to my cart, so I'm about to make my biggest purchase ever in terms of items (203) and spend nothing. Was it worth the time and effort? Eh. I may start printing some day, so why not.
+1...
It's really nice to give the print licenses to people who already got the models, but OMG this really should be automated or it will probably be to most counterproductive giveaway I have ever seen ^^
I would love to have the print licenses, would be great for game dev in the sense of merch options...
Edit: I added 37 licenses so far and I have to stop since my hand already hurts lol... Please have mercy...
I don't think there is any limit to the number of prints; but if there is you can't purchase additional licenses. Once you have purchased a license that option is grayed out on the product page
Going forward, will I have to go through my orders or search the store to find out which print licenses I own? Like in 6 months or a year, when I can't remember any more, how can I tell?
OK, and I just saw that each license is for 20 3D prints. So at the price they are charging it makes much more sense just to wait and see if I even have a game that anyone would actually want to 3D print any of the characters and/or scene out of. That some of the key PA vendors that I would most like use in games don't have this 3D print license listed also plays a role.
There is no such limitation in the EULA
processing the orders will be a nightmare too unless they automate it, they have a weekend to think this through and put out the fires in inventory
So I need these licenses if I want to make any 3d prints of my characters? For myself and to use in tabletop gaming or to give to someone a 3d print of their character as a gift?
I've been searching Pro Bundle and right clicking to open in different tab on the bundle and then doing the same for everything in that bundle, then clicking on the License for each item I own and when done with that Pro-Bundle, I check out then start the process over again on the next bundle. The only thing I can think of. I've been a DAZ member since like 2004....it will probably take me a year to gather these licenses on all the products I have. I guess we need the license to get the addon for 3d printing to do its thing on the model I'm using? I bought a machine last Dec and back then my research was like it was next to impossible to take a DAZ figure and get the STL ready to print, needs all kinds of tweeks and pokes. Does this bridge help with that?
I thought the Game Print was a bridge thing for us to use when making STL files to print on the 3d printers, but it's something dealing with a 3rd party business who will make your character figure and paint it. Well, I'm a bit bummed out now about this.
These licenses are only if you want to sell your 3D prints; they allow you to sell 20 copies, if you want to sell more after those 20 you have to contact DAZ about another license (which I guess they'd base it on how many more prints you want to sell).

This is cool for the folks that have been wanting to make figures for others. I know there's a few folks on Instagram that have been asked about 3D printed figures. I thought about going through and getting the licenses for the products I own, but I'm sure that'll take more than one evening to accomplish.
Where is that stated on the EULA?
Good day everyone,
I too hate the idea of having to go through thousands of pages of individual clicking to add each item to a cart ... especially since I do not think I will do 3D printing.
HOWEVER, I thought I would at least try to go through the Daz Original Bundles I own so that the most expensive stuff is available should I so choose. Here are my observations:
) If you get the license for a Pro Bundle ... it seems most of the time the Startle Bundle needs to be purchased separately ( which is redundant )
) After purchasing a license, when viewing a shop page, there are no icons to let you see which items you have already purchased the license for ( since I started with a high to low search, this means each time the sales discounts change (almost daily) the placement on the lists will change - and it will get confusing quickly which have and have not been done yet ).
) It really is horribly time consuming as there are far more bundles out there than you might at first guess ... and I am not even looking for individual products and all of my platinum club items.
I greatly appreciate that Daz is allowing the free addition to already puchased products. THANK YOU! But I must agree, that the execution of this project should be re-considered and somehow automated.
Practically, I can't see how that could be the case, since pro bundles contain all the items in a starter bundle, and the individual items are what need a license, not the bundle.
When I look at the page for a product for which I've "purchased" the license, the checkbox to add a license is checked and greyed out.
No argument here.
1 The EULA does not mention being limited to 20 prints
2 Daz is going to be looking at enabling batch purchases of print licenses next week - that doesn't guarantee they will be able to enable it, but it does mean it is an issue under consideration (and there is no urgency to buy the licenses immediately so you can afford to wait and see what they can do).
My thoughts Exactly! I'm super happy they offered this but if I had to go thru my whole library of purchased products to individually add a license, it would be impossible to get them all. I don't think that's a fair thing to do to the customers. I hope Daz will find a way to do it automatically since most of us are in the same boat.
So is this " https://www.daz3d.com/commercial-print-license " an old link? and not connected to the new 3D Prints Daz is so generously giving away?
how can i filter my product library to just see daz originals?
Just so I know what I'm talking about, I spent several hours yesterday and today grabbing printing licenses. I have just over 10,700 DOs in my product library, and, though I'm not entirely sure, I think I covered between 2,000 to 4,000 of them by spending most of my time doing the bundles, and maybe (maybe!) another 1,000 products for which I did not have a bundle.
I just completed to work down the list (ordered by release date) to the time G8.1F was released, which is 1,987 items, including bundles, bundle components, and items for which I do not have a bundle.
I probably still have some bundles ahead of me, from bundles that didn't show up in my earlier searches, but most of what's left is seperate items. It's definitely time consuming, lol.
Something else I noticed: nested bundles! When you have a product in a bundle which in turn is part of another bundle, getting the printing license for the top hierarchy bundle does not always carry over to the items that are nested 2 or more layers below. It only carries over if those items are also listed directly under the bundle at the top of the hierarchy, meaning, they are also only 1 level lower. And with those split-outfit bundles we've seen recently, this means that the seperate components of those outfits only inherit a license if they're also listed as part of the bundle that the whole outfit is in.
what does licensing 3D Printing License for Daz Studio 4.x Pro give you?
At the current time. There was originally no restriction, then one was added, and now it's been removed... but given the history DAZ has now established of having their EULAs subject to retroactive changes, and that they seem to believe that continued purchasing of new products is sufficient grounds to stand as acknowledgment and consent to the changes for all prior purchases, there's really no reason to be assured that they won't come back and put something similar back in place yet again.
It isn't the first time or the last, that the text on the promotional/introductional pages is incorrect and misleading.
The EULA is the only one that matters https://www.daz3d.com/eula
Clearly not old, since it refers to the commercial print license, but not in agreement with the actual EULA. I will ask about this - than you for the link, it wasn't clear where the twenty item limit was coming from.
You can sell the items you have 3D printed.
Excellent! If true, that opens up a huge world of possibilities!
I'll hold off on launching a new business until the details are solidified, though.

That's concerning since I "filled in" quite a few bundles where I already had all or all but one or two items in the most recent set of promotions. I've only had time to file licenses for a few hundred items and have already found a few items that haven't worked, and in retrospect at least two of those may be due to exactly what you've noted. Trust in DAZ to have their left hand doing something that directly counters whatever their right is trying acheive... :( One can only wonder if their NFT operation is run as sloppily as the rest of the store, given that NFT buyers tend to be investors rather than hobbyists, and are therefore inclined to resort to more severe measures than simply filing a problem ticket or complaining on a forum.
