    Also, what the hell happened to a good 100+ number of my posts? I used to be over 2050 posts before the change, now I'm back to the 1900's... O_o

    At least you didn't lose over FOUR HUNDRED posts. It's not the number so much, it's if the information in the posts is gone. I put a lot of work into some of the posts so hope the ones that poofed were only a couple lines long!  EDIT: It looks like some, or all, of them may have been restored- it first had me down in the 8,000's. So hopefully some of yours will come back as they continue to work on the forum.

    People's avatars are disappearing. SereneNight lost hers yesterday and it came back, and now on the Iray Tips threads, I noticed several people's avatars have gone off to play somewhere.

    I asked on my Art Studio thread a minute ago- can we somehow get the number of posts to show- is it still 1500 posts/50 pages? When we get to the end of our threads, do we seriously have to count the posts to 30 to know when it's going to close? These "improvements" just keep coming, don't they?!!! wink

    I am now seeing a Debug Trace at the bottom of every forum page. Shouldn't this be something for developers' eyes only? Not having a Preview button is a REAL problem. It also looks like the old smileys are broken.

    same idea here, with the debug messaging. Just means they are tinkering I would imagine. I always forget Daz doesn't have a test/QA environment and they just work on the live site *chuckles*

    Well, they did/do have sandbox/qa environments, but the load/use patterns on the 'live' site are completely different, and...sadly, that apparently makes a lot of difference.

    I've noticed the debug messages popping up also, I don't mind...I figure it means they're working on it, which is never a bad thing. :)

    The important phrase to remember right now is, This Too Shall Pass!

    one thing I do miss seeing, is the view count, now I won't know how many times I've been view except once every 100 views

     the view count kinda  lets me know if many are liking  what I posted, if there are many  after I add a render then I know  I did something right, but if not many, then either not many are looking due to not so good work, or a lot of people are not on the forums looking

    also the view count helped if I had a question, I could see how many at least looked if they could help, or if many are not looking/reading at all

    it's just a little thing, I know, but it had meaning for me

    Testing environments should be pretty much identical to production environments. Sure some of the systems are tied into different backends(hopefully all on the same version..) but there should be no surprises.

    If they have test environments they don't seem to use them, they certainly didn't do any test migrations with them. *chuckles* We really shouldn't see the amount of issues on production if they are QA this stuff before hand. I haven't been that active here for a while but I know at one point they were regularly launching promotions that didn't work :) Glitch sales...ah those days.

    They are certainly working on production right now. I got a full page Fatal Error in PHP.parse_ini_file();

    The view count is vastly inflated because if someone looks and then turns a page to view other posts, that is 2 or more added, each time you visit is counted, each time a mod visits, to make sure you are not uploading naughty pics, that counts. It's not really a reliable way of telling how many people are visiting your thread. Probably half the figure that shows on your view count or maybe even less than that

    What's this "Dismiss" menu option under the gear icon?

    It only appears on two of the stickied threads in the Commons.

    I don't want to try it if it makes those threads vanish.

    I suspect it stops them from appearing at the top of Recent Discussions. Let me take my life in my hands and try it.

    Well, it seems to have dropped the Image Attachments thread to an ordinary post position for me in the Commons, though it's still set as an announcement. The option does, however, appear only on posts that are set to be announcements in Recent Discussions as well as their own forum (the nearest we could get to the Announcement in all forums option on the older forums).

    So you're saying that it un-stickies the thread for the individual user?
    Is it a one way operation or can you re-sticky it if accidentally dismissed?

    Why would a user want to use this option? An un-stickied announcement would soon vanish into the bowels of the thread list, and would be difficult to locate again.

    I'm getting just a bit fed up with the way the nice shiny new forum displays a thread when you click on a link, whether from a Recent Discussions listing or from a notification e-mail (also can happen after adding a reply).

    • The page comes up blank white with no proper formatting or stylesheet applied, and looks a mess,
    • The stylesheet finally loads after several seconds, and in a few staggered stages gets applied to the page, making everything jump around for several more seconds,
    • Finally everything settles down and... where's the post? It missed — all I can see is half of the post, the rest is scrolled up off the screen.

    Please don't tell me this (as well as way too many other annoyances) ought to be happening...   no

    Yup use a direct link is how to get GIFS to work.. I used 60% instead of 800pixals.  it seems to allow for view fulls screen that way

    I just tried it, it just unstickies from the Recent Discussion  , the stickies are still in there stuck locations, you just will no longer see them if you go to Recent Discussion,

    I like this, because I usually just go to Recent Discussion, rather then go to a Parent Forum/section first, so no reason for me to keep seeing the same already Sticky. Unless I am just going to one topic, normally and about 98% of the time I just go to Art Studio, no where else, it's just recently I have been active other then Art Studio

    I'm sure any new Announcement/Sticky will still show up still in the Recent Discussion until Dismissed

    Sticky's won't move down the thread and be lost (Vanish)

    I found it interesting that the link in the bottom left of my computer that shows the "waiting on.." after I post something,  is p.rifhub.com so I checked and that is in Houston. Hosted by ThePlanet.com  I couldn't find much info on p.rifhub.com though.

    I'm trying to find the thread on the "Painter's Lights" product - there is something in there that I remembered reading and now need to find again. 

    I tried "daz3d.com/forum/search" and got a bazillion posts iwth the word "lights" in it. 

    I looked in My Notifications.....went back a heap of pages and nothing. Looked in My Bookmarked - nothing (i was reading it before the changeover so even tho i was subscribed at the time by posting in it, i'm not now) My Discussions are only threads I've started. 

    HOW DO I FIND THE THREAD AGAIN??? 

    Gah, i Hate this.

    Quite possibly, yes -- one of the problems with the old forum was that it allowed people to have the same name.

    I've been getting the automatic logout the first time I visit every morning, but yesterday I tried changing the store account to keep me signed in, and this morning for the first time it did not log me out, so possibly that will fix it, unless it's just coincidence.
