I am getting a constant log out loop when I come in from an e-mail. But it is not every email. I an get in just fine if I come to the store first.

I got an email from Daz Forums detailing a message I'd received from someone. I'd like to reply to this message but on the forum itself there is nothing there when I click on messages. Any ideas?

Click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner, then right below your name is your Inbox link.  Click on it...that will take you to your Inbox and the message should be there.

Ah, so it was. I made the mistake of clicking on the blue person icon, which has "messages" under it, but doesn't seem to lead to them.

Those are "in store messages" - mainly personalised offers from DAZ, or coupon codes for doing something like filling in a survey. Theye aren't linked to the forum message system.

Whenever I sign in, I always get an error that my password is invalid. But my password is cached and second attempt does work.

    Cookie issue?

I get the same thing. I've given up worrying about it.

Why has the blue guy on top right a check mark even if the system logged me out? The check mark ought to disappear.

Well, no luck on the "keep me logged in" checkbox.  It seemed like it was working for a while, but this morning I when I visited I got stuck in the repeating sign-out loop for a minute and had to sign back in again

  • macleanmaclean Posts: 2,438

Yep. It's back for me too. Tried everything.

Which browser seems to be the main 'log out' looper?

It could be cookie related...but I'm not sure if it's on the site end or local settings in the browser.

Firefox here, running NoScript which could easily still be goofing things up even though I'm allowing daz3d.com, although I was able to run for a short while without having that happen, it isn't every time.  If I remember, tomorrow morning before I connect I'll try temporarily disabling it to see if the loop still happens.

Chrome keeps me logged in for a while but after a few hours not accessing i get logged out when I come back.

  • macleanmaclean Posts: 2,438

Firefox too. No Script is currently blocking the following

    adroll

    nr-data.net

    mediaforge.com

    google-analytics.com

I use Opera and have been logged in since the new forum was put up with no log-outs or looping. Opera has been shut down and restarted a few times too but when I start it up again I am still logged into the shop and the forum.

I use Waterfox, the 64bit version of Firefox and I don't have No Script installed, yet I keep getting logged out of here even when I click 'Keep Me Logged In'. I guess we'll just have to live with it for now.

    CHEERS!

Is anyone else getting as annoyed as I am at the way the forum apparently can't put the top of a post at the top of the browser window, or have you all just given up all hope of seeing it fixed? I've never seen anything quite like this before — whether it's clicking a thread link from a Recent Discussions listing, or from an e-mail notification, the top of the linked post is always scrolled a bit up off the top of the browser.

    no

The links in my e-mail are broken again , and I got 2 time log in loop with Chrome , so I had to close the browser and log in again from the store to avoid loop in the forum

Along with a Spell check that is so bad I'd rather not use it, and a broken Copy-n-past for text that prevents me frrom checking my spelling elsewhere. This forum realy is on the verge of, Usless, for so many...

Oh, and some Avatars are still missing. zev0, flipmode, etc.

It isn't that. What is happening is that the page is being written to the browser window but when it was being set up they haven't allowed for the pixels of the banner with bread crumb menu on it. The rest of the banner disappears but the top of the page is hidden behind the menu  sad

The links in my E-mail are not broken. Tho yes, I'm was getting that strang log-in thing as well. The login thing I had here may have been something else, as Metrocast had a major melt-down this morning.

I did notice a lack of notices about mid morning, so perhaps more server work going on at daz.

I see it now, I think. The forum pages jump and scroll about so much all by themselves, I hadn't noticed.

And we need more and better smilies, as well.  no

The file is fine on my HDD, upload it to the post, and instant-no-animation??? Is the servers doing something to the images?

Mine is from a site that supplies animated smileys, with links to use them in various formats,  forum code, html code and simple URL.   I used the url and added it using the image tool from the built in tools above the type pane

I wunder if that is why Flipmode and Zev0's avatars are still broken?

I occasionally like to post an animated gif also.
