OMG... I loaded my wish list with a bunch of buildings and today my Advent calendar had https://www.daz3d.com/the-skull-castle for $2.99!!!!  WOW... I'm a happy camper :)  Thanks everyone for your advice earlier this week!

The last two days of DAILY HOLIDAZ DEALS have not been my fave... even for $2.99!  I'm saving my money.

Who else is getting good stuff?

I have mixed feelings about how many plants I apparently have on my wishlist (what were you even planning to do with these, Nine??) but despite all the plants, I've been able to pick up some older G8 outfits I was never quite willing to pull the trigger on before, these two nice Mely3D environments, and this incredibly lovely jewelry that I also don't have a specific plan for. I'll figure something out. Maybe one of the plants can wear it.

That doesn't happen to me - I bought all the plants already. laugh But seriously, this promotion has been great for finally picking up a bunch of things that have found their way into my cart multiple times in the last few months but just kept getting set aside at the last minute during final cart considerations.

You're so wise. :D  There have been enough "well, I guess I'll grab the free plant instead of the $2.99 thing it turns out I don't actually want that much" days that I think I'm setting myself up to adopt the paulawp strategy of already having bought all the plants for next year, if they do a similar sale then.

I'm very happily scooping up the MartinJFrost plants that were still missing in my library, too, and don't feel the least bit bad about it ;-) There're all just so lovely, and when you need a specific plant, it's hard to just replace it with something else. So for me, this is plant fest, basically laugh

ha... My garden has more plants in it than bugzzzzzzz...lol.  My weakness has been shaders... but with the 2.99 choice being a building... the shader got put by the wayside and deleted off my wishlist cause I guess I really didn't want it after all.  LOL

Even adding items to my wish list didn't work. I am still getting old, old Generation 3, 4 items that I have combed over years ago. It is almost too much bother to download an Advent Calendar item due to the amount of work I have to put into it (metadata, thumbnails, ...). Now I adore the Christmas gifts which have been absolutely lovely and fun. I am starting to wishlist the new items. Budgets.

Now, if DAZ wants to have a gift card sale for 25% off tomorrow, I sure could use it.

Re Martin J Frost, I think the only things left in his store are non-DAZ items. I think. Pretty sure during the past few big sales I checked every item out to make sure if it was compatible with DAZ. Zilch. When a PA is on my list for immediate buy, it is hard to find something when there is a sale. I am getting there with a number of others as well. On the positive side, with my new computer I can now pick-up items I had to ignore because my older systems would scream if they tried them. Just have to get it ready.

oops... I guess it's my fault...got so excited about the advent calendar working for me I got sidetracked... saweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Back on track... I have not bought much new stuff... almost bought the Troll set... cleared my cart.  Only things new that have gone into my cart are the weekly freebies and a few weekly deals.

Sorry from me also, got carried away blush No interesting new release for me today - again -  but the freebie Zen outfit sure is lovely!

Edit: No, wrong, I really like the new Madame blue outfit that is in DAZ+, it's very pretty. It's supposed to be somewhat Asian, no? But useful for a lot of different settings i feel.

Well the description says it's Japanese-inspired, so yes definitely somewhat Asian wink

And it jumped into my cart immediately.

DForce Madame Bleu Outfit has exactly what some of us have been asking for: an option to cover up plunging neckline. I love it.

The calendar is a lot of fun! We're discussing it over here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/647701/there-s-always-another-sale-thread-discussions-only-pt-2

Thank you... I wondered where everyone was talking about the advent calendar... I'll shoot on over there.  ;)

  • Got to say I'm loving the characters KOO is putting out. Joshua wishlisted! Love that KOO does so many male characters too. Genesis 9 would be so much poorer without them.

Look at this promo image. I don't like the way the skirt part gapes open and the bodice sags and the sleeve cuffs are way too loose and the shoes look like leprechaun shoes.

I can put leggings under the rest doesn't bother me too much. It's not the most sophisticated dress but for $2.72 I buy it for the shirt alone.

Ha.. I kinda like the shoes... they are very different.. and I can honestly say... I don't have anything like them in my runtime ;)  lol.  The saggy dress is more realistic for me.  I love that it has folds.  Weird how we all like/dislike different things :)

Well I'd be interested .....so if you did a morph and we ran it through transfer utility ,would that work? If it's too much of a hassel .....I understand not doing it .

After thinking about it, this seemed to be the best solution.

The autofit window unfortunately doesn't work for the centaurs, so you've got to set the transfer up yourself through the Transfer Utility, but I've made up a set of clones that will allow Horse 2 and 3 assets to be fitted to the Genesis 8 Centaurs.

I may have some tweaks in mind and might extend it to the G7 Centaurs as well, but this will theoretically allow basic support as is.

Alas, autofit does destroy existing rigging, so things like stirrups on saddles will probably stop working properly, but the transfers that preserve that are too complicated to be automated quite like this.

The XI Post Apocalyptic Camper Van is a hoot. Not only do they have working satellites, but they have easy enough access to ammunition to be able to feed several gattling guns. After a collapse of civilisation I'd expect satellites to be the first things to give up through lack of ground station staff and orbit maintenance, and ammunition would be very precious as there are a lot of industrial processes needed to make it, any scarcity in any process & the supply stops.

Does any one here know how to make cordite? Or the nitric and sulphuric acids needed for cordite? Or how to mine copper & zinc to make brass? Or turn the cartridge cases? Or mine lead (though alternative supplies may be available)? Have to confess I feel engineers should, otherwise I'm not sure too many people do. Which is why the camper seems so unlikely and so much ridiculous fun.

    Regards,

    Richard

They buy their all bullets at the Gun Runners kiosk. Hard to miss, the place is outside of the New Vegas.

I agree with you about the shoes and the open dress. It's normal for the top to sag if you have flat breasts, and I actually really like the wider cuffs. I find tight cuffs on puffy sleeves a bit stuffy. Except for the shoes, I like Madame Bleu Outfit very much. The shoes can be improved with shaders or used as historical men's shoes.

If you need shoes/loafers for the early 70s, they will work. They remind me of a pair I had. They weren't so bad. Considering they were from the 70s...

That's right! I also had shoes like these, but not with this design. They were comfortable... Weren't knee socks and hot pants worn with them? Lol

*sigh* The Powertool Saws which is today's doorbuster is DAZ Connect only.

I've not picked up many of the doorbusters so I don't know if this is a growing thing or not. But I've asked for a refund. Not dealing with DAZ Connect.
