I can get the autodots to be red and blue, and the cursor changes to a hand, but I can't drag the dots. How do I get this to work? Mainly need to adjust nose tips.

Not sure, but try to adjust screen resolution. If you have a 4K screen, it may be the issue.

A point of interest from previous installations that haven't worked, I've deleted all the files and folders I can find for headshop, but when I reinstall and add a picture, it automatically navigates to the folder where my photo is stored. Something is obviously still there from the first installation but I can't find where. I have a sneaky suspicion that wherever this file is, it's holding some data that is being transferred onto each new install and preventing it from working.

I was excited to see the product in the store.....then I read the responses here.

It appears that if you do not have a default install of DS, it will not work correctly.  If the only way to make it work is to move your DS install to where the plugin expects to find it, the plugin needs to be fixed.

It appears that if you use a UHD (4k) monitor, you have to alter your screen resolution or it won't display correctly.  This needs to be fixed.

Requiring your customers to re-arrange their installations and change their display settings to fit your product, is backwards.

I will NOT be picking this up now, as I both run on a 4k monitor, and have my install on a different drive than the default.  MANY PCs are now using a SSD as a boot/OS drive, and programs/data are on other drives.  And 1440p and 2160p monitors are becoming the norm.  Expecting your customers to just 'do it your way' is not the way to get their business.

IF (or when) this is updated to handle non-default installation paths and dynamically build the dialogs to work with higher-resolution displays, THEN I will consider picking it up.  But not before.

I can assure you that the installer is not rocket science. To make a flat-out statement that only DAZ installers work is wrong and there are a huge number of customers that have installed it correctly. I agree that it would be better to have a DAZ installer, but it is up to DAZ to create one, which they could not do this time around. Good luck.

I'm certain that it's true, the installer is not rocket science, but only if certain conditions are met, such as Daz being installed on drive C, but these conditions are not made clear, and once its failed to install, it seems nigh on impossible to fully delete and install correctly.

The offer of one to one Skype support is great, however I don't have a webcam, nor a microphone, and I'm certainly not purchasing either to fix an issue that shouldn't be an issue.

I had high hopes for this product, but so far I'm just bitterly disappointed.

I am sorry to hear. FYI: we can do skype support without camera or microphone, as long as I can see your screen I can type instructions.

Question: how well does One Click do with kid's faces? My six year old loves to watch me make people in Daz and often offers suggestions (he's got a great artistic eye at a very young age.) He's asked if I can make him in there. Would love to try this with a picture, but haven't seen any examples with kids. It would be fun to put together a story book for him with him in it.

Thanks, that looks very good! I have an older version of Head Shop that I struggled with, but I was a very new DAZ user at the time. Looks like the One Click is definitely worth trying. My son will be very excited!

Just noticed as I was going to buy it: Headshop One Click is listed as being 30% for Cyber Monday sale, but it is not. I started a ticket to let support know.

    Hello,

I'm facing the same problem. Will this be fixed soon? I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks a lot.

Hmmm, try refreshing your browser window but the listing is even missing the 30% off so maybe it's not on sale anymore. You should still see 15% extra listed off the 30% off or the full price in either way.

I bought this today and installed it. But I seem to have a problem with the configuration. The Program is installed in C drive in the default location, but my content is on G drive. The program starts just fine, but then can't save the settings, nor find anything else (see attached images), and goes off into the land of oblivion...

Is there any way to teach the program that my content is on a different drive?

Trying to save the surface settings...

Continuing with just "Accept", loading the photo, hitting the "Applyt" button.

Then a "No Zero" error message, if I click on OK it gives me this:

BeeMKay I have the same set up as you with the program on C - Content is 3 others drive (none on C Drive) - I always get the unable to write error but never get the Daz Model Not Found so everything works without having content on C Drive.

I do not use Connect all my content is Dim or Manually Installed

For me, I also have the program on C and the content on 2 other drives (none C)... and I have the same error as BeeMKay...and don't know how to solve it...

I was thinking reinstalling the program on the default locations, but seing the comments, I'm not sure it will solve the problem...

  • I attach screenshots of where mine is installed so you can maybe check & see if yours is any different.

I have a similar config. The only difference is that, on drive C, DAZ Studio is not installed in its default location (not in program files). I hope that's the issue... I will try it this week-end...

OneClick assumes that DAZ Studio and its Runtime folders are installed at the default location.

    DAZ Studio is at c:/Program Files/DAZ 3D.

Runtime is at C; User/Public/My DAZ Library

To see where the particular files should be please read pages 6-7 in this manual:

    Hi,

thank you for the information. So let me confirm:

"Runtime is at C; User/Public/My DAZ Library"

So if my Runtime is at G:/My DAZ Library, there is no way to make the program understand the different location?

I would be forced to move my Runtime to C-Drive?

Seems that way. Please try to move the entire folder (My DAZ Library) to maintain the path please and let us know...

I am sorry, but that is not possible. My C drive is an SSD that doesn't have enough space to hold my content.

unfortunately, because the program can only work with the default runtime location, I will sadly have to apply for a refund.

What you can do if you care to search for it is use something called an 'NT Junction' to make a link from your current DAZ Studio location the the default DAZ Studio location. This should be a workaround for the OneClick bug only and you should not add the location of this 'NT Junction' to your list of DAZ Studio content library locations.

Summary of what an NT Junction is:

This is a freebie UI intended to make creating an NT Juntion more intuitive because the listing of the arguments seems sort of backwards:

Sorry, to me, it doesn't sound like a 'bug', but instead it is 'works as designed'. I see no mentionening anywhere, also not in the documentation, that there is any intention of fixing this problem, which is something that should apply to a good number of users.

Having to mess around with my system like that is not my idea of a one click solution program.

Nice, one of the better, recognizable examples in this thread.

  • This program works for me & I do not have any content on c drive so its not always the case that it does not work with content elsewhere so I am not sure why some have problems :(

Even if you do need c drive for some reason then you should be able to just install the G2 & G3 starter essentials (just base models) there rather than all your content library as those are the only thing Headshop needs

I tried as you suggested, downloaded G2 Starter Essentials to the Documents public. The error still remains, so simply moving the files clearly isn't the solution. I also tried this with the 4.9 Beta I have installed, and even addedthe new "default path" to the content Library manager there, but as before, no luck.

So, outside of me having to bend over backwards to get this program running properly, without result, and wasting an entire evening on this, I still don't see a solution to the problem.

The program seems to look in the D drive for things, which is neither the default content drive, nor the C-drive where the program is installed.

When I installed DS many moons ago I also adjusted in its settings where the database and runtimes are installed which is D and E

I have no problems running this program.. except for when I maximise the window and the dots go walkabout.. but that's just bad programming.

  • Its really strange that some of us can run it without problem in our custom set ups & I wish I knew the answer for everyone that is having problems as its a fun plugin to use but I know that noone wants to spend hours trying to figure out how to get it to work sad
