Dave Savage : very nice work on the skin.
Dan Whiteside : wonderful image.
Slepalex : good idea.
Dan - Thank you. In The Eye Of The Beholder: just great and the title fits perfectly.
Slepalex - interesting idea. Bump is difficult, it depends on the angle the light falls on the mirror.
Horo, Bump it's easy! Yes, the angle of incidence of light affects, but not in this case. Here is another example. The mirror is in the shadow completely. The scene is the same, the lighting is the same: IBL + TA 36 rpp. Only the texture is different.
This image was supposed to be an entry fro the challenge "reflection" but was not finished in time. Everything modeled with wings3d except for the crane that was a freebie.
Title : Urban reflection.
Cool renders by Dave and Dan Whiteside, nice lighting in both renders.
Slepalex - Yes the cracks do need a bit more work, nonetheless nice starting point..
The skin looks okay, Dave, but you know it needs more 'bump' (as with, Dan's too).
Nice experiments with the 'cracked mirror' effect, Slepalex - continue on.
AdBc...it is truly a wonderful work, but the water effect is simply super (to stroll along such a promenade, and board an owned yacht...heaven).
Jay
Wow Adbc beautiful render, it's sad it didn't make the challenge.
Slepalex - missed this page, interesting results.
adbc - great modeling in Wings3D. Great urban scene.
Jamahoney, mermaid010, Horo : thank you for your kind comments.
Another triple stacked terrain render.
Wow Horo absolutely beautiful landscape.
Horo : Superb landscape, awesome terrain material.
ADBC: Great modelling of those biuldings... Nice render.
Horo: As always super terrain work and stacked materials, so much detail.
I've been looking at a lot Art Deco posters recently and decided to try a Deco render of a train.
I cheated a little bit by adding the dot pattern in Photoshop when I put the book cover together so I'll also post the raw untouched render.
mermaid - thank you.
adbc - thank you.
Dave - thank you. Excellent Art Deco poster. A dot pattern could be done in Bryce but I doubt with such a professional looking quality on the final poster.
Yes indeed, it can be done. A couple of years ago I did this render of a Hot Rod purely in Bryce with no post work. Dots would have worked the same as the lines I used here.
Dave : Outstanding art deco poster. The Hot Rod render is really nice as well.
Thank you for your comment.
Thanks adbc.
The train was a freebie from Archive3D.net. The models on there sometimes take a lot of work once in Bryce and this was no exception. Here's a quick colour render I did of it once I'd sorted the materials out. Then of course I stripped them all off for the Deco poster version.
And spurred on by Horo's stacked terrain, I've been doing a few versions of this Bryce generated terrain, the first one uses a terrain material from the High Res terrains set and the second is from one of my own (Though I most likely used one of David's materials as a base to work from). These aren't stacked, it's just one planetary resolution terrain.
Dave- awesome Art Deco posters, beautiful landscape renders the lighting is top notch too.
Another landscape from me, using the 3D cloud and Hdri for the lighting from https://www.bryce-tutorials.info/shop/bryce-7-1-pro-object-clouds-2d-3d/ the terrain is from the https://www.bryce-tutorials.info/shop/bryce-7-1-pro-terrain-stacking/ and the material from the Pro Materials slightly modified.
Dave - ah yes, I think I've seen the Hot Rod before. It looks fantastic. Nice train scene and great material on the train. The terrain and water looks good, I like the rusty ship wreck.
mermaid - very nicely clouded sky and the shadows from the clouds on the ground look good.
Dave : great image with the train. Very realistic landscapes, the water and terrain textures are really good, I also like the ship wreck.
mermaid : nice sky, great clouds and shadows on the terrain.
Thanks Horo and Adbc
Inspired by Hansmar I tried some Nik Collection filters and another Anaglyph, using a previous render. The original render is an inset in the 1st image.
mermaid - nice landscape, interesting colours. I haven't got the Nik Collection filters yet, too expensive. The anaglyph looks great.
I'm currently lost in translation (out of touch), and while I can only say of previous renders as excellent, that anaglyph Mermaid, is super - the main peak mountains in the middle bring the scene to centre-of-scene. Also, thanks for the link.
Jay
mermaid : very nice experiment with the filters.
Horo : I downloaded those filters for free, the version is not the latest (2018)but the 1.2.11 the link : https://nik-collection.en.uptodown.com/windows/download. For the moment not much time to experiment with them but in the future I certainly will.
adbc - thank you very much for the link. I downloaded, installed and tested them. They work, though how to use them will take some experimenting.
Thanks Horo, Jay and Adbc for the nice comments.
Horo I also have the free version which I downloaded a few years ago, I don't have all the filters Hansmar mentioned. The cool thing is that it works on my very old version of Photoshop.
Dave Savage: quite a good job on the skin. Wonderful rough eyebrows too.
Dan Whiteside: Great render. Wonderful cracked mirror. Postwork is just one of the tools you can use. For me, there is no reason tob e puristic about Bryce. However, you can create a cracked mirror rather simply in Bryce by using a positive mirrorface (cube) with cracks (negative) made from latices and grouping the face and grouping those. You can use a little white diffuse colour for the cracks to lighten them up the compared to the face and make the stand out a bit more. I added an example. It does take some fiddling to get them reasonable. For example, one of my cracks has too round corners. I used a little erosion on the latices, but could have used some more. And other improvements are possible too. But the principle works very well.
Slepalex: Your method is also very nice! The second one looks quite good.
Adbc: very nice futuristic cityscape.
Horo and Dave Savage: Good landscaping. Dave, the version with the stranded ships makes for a more interesting story.
Mermaid: Nice clouds. Keep experimenting. And nice that you have been inspired by my filtering. Good idea to show the original as inset!
A beautiful city landscape! Great models!
You can add more trees.
