They're currently working on a new storefront. I would be really surprised if they are doing that while planning a G9 rollout.

Also, PA and PC sales are coming and they're probably keeping part of the new content they have in stock for those sales.
@vwrangler - yep I bought as much as I could. But would love some that is dForce and more offerings from their culture.
This is just an idea where we look at a rich culture and explore it in a realistic manner. There are so many in our world that we have little knowledge unless we are lucky to live, travel, or study them. Yet they could be great sources of inspiration. So much more interesting than another 'pretty white girl' and American Dystopian 'Now' environments. Examples: Peru, Brazil (away from the beaches & tourists), Central America, Africa's varied cultures, etc...
Daz has been doing a great job of expanding their lineup, the supporting characters are looking a lot more like real people all the time. (I have nothing against fairies and elves, buy them as well.)
I've got so much unused Genesis 8 content that I'm simply not ready for a generation 9 yet...
...but DAZ has been including official Gen8 characters in substantial sales recently - almost like a fire sale - which I've loved because it means I have characters I would never have bought if they remained at the normal prices.
So I'll be a bit miffed if it's all aboard the Gen9 train too soon - but what will DAZ do if they don't introduce a new line in next couple of years?
I cannot imagine what improvements could be made to Gen8... maybe a soft skin system that can react to being poked, prodded or wearing tight clothes cutting into the flesh? And/or a bending system built into figure so that there are skin folds and natural muscle movement - that would surpass anything I know of being in development anywhere in the digital industry (so I don't actually expect it).
Whatever we get, I'm sure DAZ will find a way of staying in front of my Bank manager, LOL

MEC4D did some Chinese Shaolin clothes for male characters, which were very detailed and striking. The items I was thinking of were by 3D-GHDesign, the Mongolian Beauty clothes and characters.
I still haven't seen anything compelling in Studio to justify a genesis 9. At most they may be building up to using dforce to handle soft body dynamics for breasts, butts, and other places but so far the methods I've seen for that have been a little complicated for a base figure.
Right now I'm holding onto store credit waiting for Holt 8 to go with Honni...
I don't see G9 being rolled out anytime soon. With Bundle quality diminishing, and random items and unrelated figures included in the latest releases, it doesn't fill me with confidence about genesis 9.
That said, still would like more male figures and characters, but not a fan of the ubiquitous dforce hair and clothing which fills the latest bundles . The hair is often just sort of meh, when dforced on men, and the clothing lacks detail and tends to be more trouble than it is worth.
I still would like to see a superhero bundle.
Also an actual military bundle. If DAZ store is going into the video game market, learning to do combat gear beyond corsets, thigh-highs and exposed panties, is really what they should be tackling.
I also think DAZ store is killing pro bundles as we know it. The new bundles standards are different now... And not in a positive way. If this keeps up, I may only be buying base figures from now on. Quality drops, and lack of QA is becoming an issue. How many items go to bug tracker only to never be heard from agan? If it is a male item, chances are the store won't fix it. This does not make me feel that they would handle G9 release at all well.
I wonder a bit if the QA issue is one of the constant demand for new, new, new stuff has lead to pushing out stuff at a pace I know was not the case a few years back and QA just can't keep up. And when fixes rely on the PA they end up with the PA in the position of fixing an old project while trying to get their new project ready to sell in time for whatever theme is next.
As for the change in bundles, I think Honni 8 is the first I've seen of an old item being put into a pro bundle and that was clearly a last minute change. Tara is more like Underbelly so her being bundled differently from core figures is not surprising.
And yeah, male hair styles are usually short enough that dforce seems unnecessary, probably why they keep reaching for longer styles. Would love a bundle with more of the short styles in it.
Agreed, when they're putting old stuff that people already have into a new bundle, defeats the purpose of buying a bundle. Now, what might be interesting, and I don't know how they'd do it, is they come out with a new base character, have some vendors or products available and you create your own bundle. So let's say Holt 8 comes out, you get your choice of 2 hair, 3 outfits, some poses (you get to choose which ones) but you have to buy them to get the bundle price

Please, dear heaven, let them not be considering releasing a new major bundle THIS week of all weeks. I think the new server would just weep and fall over dead.
Not a problem if a female character is released but the shop must become stable for the male counterpart.
If they do bring out a G9, I hope the spine has more bones. You ever try to do a properly looking belly roll (bellydance style) on any version of Genesis. Of course if not bones, then definitely muscle movement, without having to buy a specialized morph pack to be able to do it, should be included with the standard body morphs you buy.
Whenever the G9 comes out, it better be impressive or else I'm not spending a dime on that generation.
Genesis 8 is good as it is, dont need to upgrade.
A lot of that seems to be muscle moves, which would be ebst handled with morphs anyway I suspect.
I made one with Genesis 3 (Raiya's Sapphire skin) years ago.
That probably means Millawa 8 will get here at Daz midnight or thereabout.
And they actually released a new major bundle this week.

Looks like there may be a Topsy 8 coming down the line. She's mentioned as a required product in Choya for Genesis 8 Female.

It looks like that reference has been removed from the public web page, if that's where you saw it.
When I put Choya in the cart I got a popup with this info. It seemed to be in error. FWIW, Topsy 8 looked like a little person. Perhaps she's still in development as the image was grey clay textured. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
