There is definitely an issue with transferring the eyes of Thorne characters from A3 to Genesis and G2 now, in the previous version of GenX I got exactly the same eyeshape altho I was transferring from Aiko 4 to Genesis. Could this be due to the fact that GenX2 has to create a A3 shape? If anyone can get a proper transfer including the distinct eyeshape of these particular characters could you please post how you did it? The Mulberry one worked for the most part but the eyes still aren't transferred properly, altho I did get a better transfer than in the beginning.
Edit to add Aiko4 Barliecorn to Genesis
So far, I’ve only tried to transfer Gen 3 morphs to Gen 4 using GenX2 and have encountered no problems (other than V3 to V4 eyebrows, but that’s a different issue).
However, when I try to transfer a Genesis character morph to G2F, I get lost.
I understand I have to list Genesis as the Source to begin with. When I do that, I get a whole long list of available morphs in GenX2 but when I expand the individual morphs, I notice they are not selected, so my first question is: Should I select the specific ones I want only (and if so, how do I know which ones I want among so many) or should I simply select them all to be on the safe side?
Second - I drag and drop the Head INJ file of the Genesis character Bernadette (for example) from my content library into the morph area, but there does not seem to be any resulting changes to the list of morphs - Bernadette is not listed anywhere. I've expanded each morph group to make sure she is not hiding somewhere.
As an alternative, I used the Apply Pose button and navigated to the Bernadette-INJ.dsf file to load it that way, and still Bernadette does not show up among the morphs.
You will notice that in the panel above the morph list there are some figures. In your case you have "M 4674 / V 27 / T 0". This means that there are 4,674 listed Morphs, of which 27 have non-zero Values and none of them are set for Transfer.
When you drag-and-drop a Genesis morph into the Transfer window the Value changes to a non-zero and this change is indicated by the "V" number in the panel. You can then click on the Select button and non-zero values can be checked for Transfer, and they will also be easier to see if you scroll down the morph list.
So in order to see Bernadette's morphs, first set all the values to zero using the Select button, then drag-and-drop Bernadette's morphs into the Transfer window and note the "V" number. Then set non-zero values to Transfer and you should be able to easily see the checks next to the morphs which are ready to transfer.

This so cool, Cayman. No wonder I couldn't find Bernadette. She's referred to as GodinBernadette. I'll remember this in the future that the names are not always the way you think.
I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much!
In general, it's better to transfer morphs from the original source, not to transfer a morph that was already transferred. Each transfer causes some loss in quality. Also, for A4, it should be easy to select the head morphs only for transfer. Just select the morphs in head actor only.
Hi D3D,
I am such a ninny, I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong. I've installed Daz 4.6 and purchased GenX2 (btw, 66% was so generous). Anyhoo, I can see in Daz that is installed, but it says I need to register it to use it. i did not get issued a new serial # for Gen X2, but I have serial numbers for the initial GenX and the upgrade to GenX. Please help, what am I doing wrong. It won't accept the other two serial numbers.
Indi.
Thanks for the suggested solution, but... I have first another problem! When I start GenX2, no figures can be loaded and, in the "Warnings" tabs, it says:"No source figure definitions found" and "No Target figure definitions found"!!!! In which folder I have to look to fix this, please????
I have a few Gen4 favorites...so I decide to began testing transferring some of these few favorites (just the heads) and all occurred normally without problems. Just like the previous genx. =) yay!
Now I will try to transfer some expressions and then Genesis to G2F and G2M that is what interests me. =)
Thanks for the tips I read about transfer expressions and Genesis to Genesis 2! :)
I hope it is as simple as transferring v4 and m4.
Can anyone answer this for me
In GenX when you transfer, their is the Resolution choice for the morphs
What does it do?
From the manual:
Transfer Resolution
The transfer resolution is the density when mapping the morphs from the source to the target figure.
You may imagine the points of the source mesh as a set of small magnets that draw on the points of
the target mesh when they are morphed. The transfer resolution in the options determines the
density of these magnets. Lower values preserve more details, but too low values may cause errors
because some points are not transferred at all. (You will get a warning in that case.) Larger values
give smoother results but may cause a loss of detail. The effect of this option also depends on the
mesh density where the morph is applied. If you are not sure, simply use the default value 50. The
possible range is from 1 to 100.

Check the original character morph. Are the eyes scaled via general parameters rather than morphs? If so, just change G2's dials to match.
thanks for the reply
Never once read the manual, seemed pretty straight forward
I don't have the updated version, but I"m sure the resolution applies the same way as the older version
Hmm well...I forgot about Vladimir.
So I tried to trasfer, but I failed...=(
I dragged M4, ++ morphs injection and then the Vladimir INJ using “single morph” in the “Transfer” panel. Smooth and transfer on for non-zero. It creates a single moprh, but doesn´t work. Nothing happens.
I wonder if there is any way to transfer expressions without having to transfer them one by one? Because it was the only way I could transfer.
And the same question is for morphs eg: "Natural breast movement". In the previous genx, I managed to transfer everything at once and each appeared with its separate control. (although I do not remember how I did it)
And then I wonder how will I transfer my favorites morphs from genesis to genesis 2? Selecting one by one?
Sorry my english .. is not my first language and it's almost 2 am ... lol
Morpheus awaits me ...
Good night people!!
EDIT: Before going to sleep, I tried again to transfer some morphs (i13 Real Breast Morphs for V4) to genesis and I failed....again. This time i chosen 3 morphs to transfer separately just to see if would work ... but it did not work and my ideas are exhausted. Please, if anyone can answer these questions ..... help me! :(
Tomorrow I try again.
Hmm. Playing with StudioArtVartanium's VOLG set and ran into something I haven't seen before. The transfer looks great until you start bending the arms too much (square image,) and then it looks like the fold of the inside of the elbow isn't in exactly the right place. I'm guessing this could be fixed by adjusting the skeleton (though it's not something I've done before.) The obvious quick solution would be just to use the head moprh and full textures set with a hand spun body, but has anyone else run into this?
Check the original character morph. Are the eyes scaled via general parameters rather than morphs? If so, just change G2's dials to match.
Will try that today, I did try loading A3 with the morphs and then using get values from character but that didn't select any of the morphs of Mila for A3 when I tried it, and she has the eye fix morph but it was worse than Mulberry's after transfer. I will be disappointed if it's not possible to transfer these characters properly as I purchased a bunch of them in anticipation of using GenX2 to tranfer.
Genesis G2Male using several transferred morphs and raw Roark texture.
That is tooooo cute! LOL
Indigone: I don't know if you get a new serial number if you upgrade. I think you should. But the old one will also still work with GenX2, so simply enter your serial number for the initial GenX.
MCMXC: This is probably an installation problem. Or you are using the public beta instead of the official release.
In any case, look in the user data folders and search for a folder "GenX2". This should be in users//AppData/DAZ 3D/Studio4 (or the according path on Mac), but it is installed for a different user (usually the default user) sometimes.
Alfinin: To transfer morphs as individual morphs, use the "selected morphs" mode. This will give you a separate dial for each transferred morph.
There is not much difference between transferring morphs from a Poser figure or from a Genesis figure. If your character is a real morph (not dialed from several morphs), you can select all morphs to transfer and transfer the individual morphs at once with the "selected morphs" mode.
For expressions, you can use the "Presets" tab to convert the expression poses into presets that set the values for the morphs. Because the presets only set the dial values, you need to transfer all required morphs with the "selected morphs" mode before (or after, the "Presets" tab will show a warning for each missing morph).
When you inject Vladimir, it will only add the morphs, it will not activate the morphs. If you use "Transfer On for non-zero values", you transfer nothing but the cornea bulge morphs that are active in M4 by default. Search for Vladimir in the file list and either transfer the morphs with "Selected morphs" or edit the values manually to set them to one. Always have a short look on the numbers above the morph list. It shows how many morphs are listed, how many morphs have a non-zero value, and how many morphs are selected for transfer.
Cybersox13: The weight maps are optimized for the default shape. The more extreme a morph is, the more likely it becomes that the weight maps are no longer optimal for that shape. That's why the major figure packs like V6, M6 etc. contain hidden correction morphs to improve bending. I think things like this might happen for morphs made for Genesis as well, not only transferred morphs.
Kharma: As long as the morph itself transfers well, you should not be too disappointed. Fixing the eyes by scaling and moving is really no big effort, and you can save the fix as a preset once it fits.
Hi, I'm using the latest version of DAZ, the 4.6.12.118
I have checked the path, and I found the GenX2 folder in C:/Users/MCMXC/AppData/Roaming/Daz3D/Studio4 full of the various DSF, GXT and GXM files.
I have checked the genx.ini too to check for the correct path, and it's set...
... but it's still saying to me that it is unable to find source and target figure definitions!:(
[EDIT]
MAYBE IS SOLVED! For unknown reasons, he wanted the files to be put in "Studio4 Public Build" instead of "Studio4"!!!!!
That's strange. The official release should use the folder "Studio 4" and only the public beta should use "Studio 4 Public Build". Maybe something is odd in the registry.
I've definitely tried both serial numbers from before (one from the original from Rendo, the other from the upgrade from here). Neither is accepted.
I'll submit a ticket.
Indi.
Yeah... well, anyway I have one last question: regarding the fact that I want to transfer just the head morph to Gen2, how should I save the head morphs from my old characters? Using File->Save As->Shaping Presets and selecting only the head? And to load it in GenX I have to use the Drag and Drop feature to move the DUF file in the morph section?
Thanks in advance.
Those of you who are having problems with GenX finding the needed files please refer to,the thread here.
I have the new Gen X waiting to purchase would have done so before but had to choose between it and getting the new Stephy 6 Pro Bundle. Hope to get it in a fortnights time as have so many V4 figures I want to port to G2F..
@Dimension3D, thank you!
I´ll try again today. *fingers crossed* ^_^
Edit: Forgot to say, my characters (genesis) are a mixture of dialed morphs. I imagine i have to first transfer the morphs used. I'll try.
For GenX2 was there an update to the Version 3 shapes for Genesis? I don't recall updating them recently... how would I know if there is a newer version for GenX2?
Edit: Never mind, I know I purchased the GenX add ons, just thought maybe that's why I was having issues with the eyes on A3 characters.
ummm I think there was an update on the Gen3 shapes....if you already purchased them go check in your library ......
There are newer files for the Generation 3 character shapes.
Ok checked and yes I have the GenX2 files installed for V3 shapes, now here is my conversion for Mila for A3 to G2, the eyes aren't bad but definitely not like A3 Mila, and if you look in the sof the eye, how can I possibly fix that, I have tried every adjustment possible I think
Mila actually has an eye fix pose, did you try throwing that into the transfer window as well before transferring? I don't actually have the character, I just happened to see it listed in the what's included section.
Also, right click the transfer window > Show in List and set checks for:
All Controlled Morphs
Pose Controllers
Joint Controlled Morphs
Hidden Morphs/Controllers
