Ours isn't going anywhere soon. They just updated everything to digital. They were running a bunch of sales last year to help pay for the update. We try to go at least once a year. The kids and dog love it. We either take my truck and put down the tailgate and sit in the bed or we take lawn chairs and sit on them.

Wow, nice! That's totally cool!

...there's actually a "Moonlight" drive in Shawano WI.

Everyday Trash my friend. Paper to be in Gutters and Sidewalks, empty soda and beer cans, coffee cups of all kinds from Styrofoam with stained insides up to StarLucks, Fast food containers open, closed and empty and with leftovers in them. Pizza boxes that morph, food cans (the soda and beer ones too) that morph and have extra textures, Newspapers closed, folded, opened out, spread open all with textures, waded up versions of all the above. Cigarette butts, gum wrappers. All those everyday little detail things that add the lived in but not a warzone things I need.

erm... at the bottom of the "What's Included" list... "DAZ Studio MATs (.DSA)" ? ... although for trash, you're not likely to do a 6000x9000 closeup render of a bubblegum wrapper, are you? ;-)

(what I'm trying to say... is that you basically really only need diffuse and perhaps a little bump... no need for fancy SSS or spec maps or custom shaders on a crushed soft drink can, is there? ... unlike what you might want for the skin of a character in a portrait render, anyway... v(^_^)v).

    BEGIN WHINE SESSION

I woke up today with the most annoying urge to create music, after four months of being dead to it. And 2 weeks ago I deleted all my music software to make room for more 3D stuff. :blank: So, I plugged in my MIDI keyboard and after 3 minutes of dinking around, my hand cramped and that brought things to a dead standstill.

But I want to create music anyway, dang this lame body!!

So, you know.. I'm re-installing Acid Music Studio 8 and all my Acid loops. Even if I can't actually perform anything any more, I can compose with loops!

This time, I keep it simple - just loops, my best audio effects, and that's it. No virtual instruments, no fancy software emulations, just loops, some effects, and me!

One of my known problems is making my hobbies too complex - so this is a conscious effort to go all minimal. An approach that would serve me well in 3D and writing, I imagine. :-S

I'd love to play guitar again, but if a few minutes on the keys kills me, there's no way I could jam the jams like I want to. Le sigh.

    END WHINE SESSION

    Looking forward to that :)

ICFPL, WIP #3 - not happy with the fog effect at all, or it's impact on render times. I might post the fog in, or try shading a deformed primitive with a 3D texture to simulate the fog planes. Because, this takes WAY too much time to render.

hehe a haunted drive in, very cool

Don't forget the used disposable diapers. Pretty common around Austin. Also candy wrappers.

...OK this is interesting, Been running a render which I knew would take a bit of time as I'm using Nerd3D's Fog tool. So looked up to check the progress a few minutes ago and the elapsed time was 24hrs 40min.???

Now unless I fell asleep for a full night and day, that cannot be right.

If you do have acid reflux disease, regular antacids will not help. Don't believe those commercials. The things may work fast for regular indigestion, but Prilosec (or the generic omeprazole) is designed for acid reflux. They really deceive when they say "that one takes 24 hours to take effect...but Tums works right away!" The thing is, with the prescription, you take it every day, and you never get the acid in the first place. Don't ignore this condition, see your doctor. It can damage your throat if it happens repeatedly.

I took some ranitidine (yes, I know about the potential side effects) afterward, which helped to settle it. Thing is, I'm stressed up to my gills, as days trundle onwards to 30th. On 30th, I have to head to regional hospital with my mom, and docs will poke and prod and see what's up with her brainmeats, and depending on what they find... well. That's when things may go interesting. :/ So I'm anxious and stressed and generally being anything but my cheery avatar.

Post the link to local transit company and suggest it. Tell them that it works GREAT in Finland and is a major tourist attraction, as it goes through the most pictoresque route possible.

You know those styrofoam packaging thingies for monitors etc?

Cardboard boxes, open and closed, with different dimensions.

Sheets of bubblewrap, bubblewrap packaging, plastic air bubble thingies used in mailing.

Heck, bubblewrap SHADER would be awesome. That way I could make some interesting pictures with interesting clothing options for people with interesting interests... errr...

If you know what I mean.

...OK this started earlier this evening as an experiment to demonstrate making coloured & glowing fog. At the time I wrote my response I was working on developing Leela's Daughter Annika, with Zev0's Growing up morphs for G2F. I figured throw a patch of low lying fog under her ground to test the theory to make sure it works.

    ...well...

...as seems usual for me these days one thing leads to another and another, a couple of Jack's sets, A zombie, some glowflies, atmospheric camera etc... well you get the idea.

This was the "24hr+" render (actually was more like 2hours and 15 min).

Really like this idea for a scene filler pack!! Preferably textures will use fictional brands/logos and won't have painted on specular in the diffuse. I noticed similar ideas like this on renderosity which regrettably had burnt in specular - gloss or used scanned real product labels or very very similar logos to existing rw logos with identical graphics on the packaging.

At least with unique and creative labels such props could be used in various genre of renders. Might I add spray paint cans and permanent markers for alleyways. (Permanent markers are an increasingly common graffiti here in Aus, spray paint by law is now locked behind a mesh door on store shelves, much harder to get for kids/thieves so we now see allot of large permanent markers used instead )

Love the box/ bubble wrap idea ski too haha.
