You've even got a PA posting in there now, so I think you're safe from The Club Of Doom™. :)

That tall one looks a little ripply, or maybe it's wobbling. :gulp:

This thread is just as real as any other...well, technically, anyway...it occupies space. :)
I agree that 16 does seem overly sticky though.
I wondered why my shoes seemed tacky and stuck to the floor as I wandered through here. ;-P

Yep, I'm pretty sure this is the first weekend for both college and pros. Could be wrong though, for me pro football season started back in August when my Spurs opened the season with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
...the skydomes. LDP always had beauitiful skydomes for both day and night. All are photograph based rather than CGI so they look more natural. The only night skydome I have is the Dystopia Blocks one.
I simply load LDP2 in 3.1Advanced, unparent the skydome, then delete all the lights and save the skydome as a .duf to my 4.6 Library. As I mentioned it doesn't rescale itself to the scene (probably because some instruction in the null that gets deleted), but that can be handled manually. Were LDP2 a just a light set with a skydome (like Cloud9), it would probably work fine in 4.6.
hmmm, thought about what you said and just saved a LDP2 Setting as a .duf ran a test render, and it does work, to a point. Unfortunately only the main (Sun) light seems to transfer over as the shadows are completely black,showing no effect of the Ambient and sky lights. I tested the same setup in 3.1A and the effect of the Ambient/Skylights is visible in cast shadows

...Arsenal got them back last weekend though, despite a big push in the second half and stoppage.
Here in the States it is the second week for college. The NFL starts tomorrow.
so i spent the past few days downloading some zip files from the Daz Product Library. The zip files for the elite skins contain .mc6 scripts instead of .dsa scripts. now i need to download the .exe setup files. :D
7378_10_dpc_V4EliteTextureMaya.exe
7378_15_V4EliteTextureMaya.exe
7378_18_ds_V4EliteTextureMaya_18.exe

back from my hike. feets sore. energy is all tapped out.
pa sale finally got me with the kibaretto stuff. oscar mike gulf.
got the A-deck and shuttlestar. :) :lol: :)
ran out of gil, forgoing ironstar and the skyjet. had to forgo the breaking waves.
too tired to install t'nite. need to soak my feet, oww oww. no understands how my feet can feel numb yet be hurty at the same time.
i luv how this Thomas promo is lit. how'd they do that?
That doesn't seem right. I thought they had all the older stuff converted over to zip files by now. there are three zip files that match the DIM option, one says Studio CF. That didn't have the right files in it?
I'd complain. To them, not just in here.

...nuts, opened the scene I've been working on and the sections of the front grille of the car that I turned off to create the gunports are back. I guess any changes made with the polygon editor are not preserved when saving. Now I have to go back in and remove them all again.
I really wish I could just do this in Hexagon, however, even with the bridge the materials/shaders are not preserved and I still end up with an untextured .obj. The front Grille not only is part of the car's entire bottom mesh, but also shares the same MAT zone as other parts of the trim so simply turning it off by reducing the opacity also affects other parts of he car.
...looks like a good dose of SSS for one.
Did you save them as a new Surface? (I've not seen any problems selecting arbitrary subsets of polygons using the Polygon Editor, creating a new surface with them and setting Opacity to 0%, then saving, and reloading... I _have_ seen the 'temporaryness' of the 'Hide Surface' setting though...).
...looks like a good dose of SSS for one.
It also reminds me of some of the promo images I saw for Reality or Oxygen.

Thought she at least liked me but you never know. Older woman with her baby boy.........
...unfortunately they are very difficult to group because I cannot get to the backside polys without hiding the front ones first, so if I do that there will still be the back face s of the grille bars when I reduce the opacity. Also the mesh for this section isn't perfectly clean in that it is partially buried in the mesh of the screen behind the grille.
In Hexagon it is much easier to see the complete mesh to select.
You can add to an existing surface... as well as select the obscuring surface(s) and hide them first, then get around inside and select the "other" ones and add them... which model is it btw?
Morning. Sunny, warm, too nice to stay indoors today :)
Night, dark, 78 F and humid, scary outside, I'll stay in here. :)
Wait, I'm supposed to download the StudioCF file too? oh... :red: I thought the Studio files were for the Poser DSON importer? V4 Elite V4EliteTextureMayaStudioCF.zip does have .ds files.
Well if you'll excuse me, I need to download a bunch of Studio CF files. Thank you so much!! I was wondering what the Studio CF files were for.
My brother thought my new avatar was Jack Elam, until he noticed my eyes don't point in different directions. :lol:

I know what happened. I misread StudioCF.zip as PoserCF.zip. I do not download the PoserCF.zip files Therefore, I did not download the StudioCF.zip files oy.
tjohn, that is a scary sky above. The fog is thick too.

:) Not a road I'd want to travel down.

...Spy Car- V12
Think I figured out what I did wrong. Originally I created a Group instead of a Surface. selected all the parts again then assigned them to a new surface named GunportL which I was then able to adjust the opacity to zero. Saved then closed the file, reloaded it to discover this time the sections were gone. Had to do this twice to get to the backside polys (doing what you suggested above) and now I have my gunports. Discovered a few other helpful tools as well like "grow selection" which cut down on the number of individual selections I needed to make. It also helped o change to Wireframe view as well.
Sounds like you've got it KK :).
Some other tricks that may be useful -
. Ctrl-* (or Right-click -> Polygon Selection -> Select all Connected) can be incredibly useful if the object hasn't been fully "welded" (ie all the surfaces join up). Case in point getting rid of the headlight cover (I notice it has two 'surfaces' there, an inner and an outer - trivial to remove so that you can get into the headlight itself). Even if it has been welded (ie you try it, and too many surfaces light up), you can select a "loop" of faces and hide just those (which I did with the rear of the light socket), then when you select one of the inner faces and use Ctrl-*, it will select only out to the (now hidden) loop, and not further;
. I find I use Right-click -> Polygon Visibility -> Invert Hidden quite a bit too... to show me the things I _have_ already hidden, and may want to re-"hide" again, which, when inverted back again, will show them up (perhaps too much was selected, or the wrong faces);
. if you're already building up your own "KK_gunport" surface and assigning faces to it, Right-click -> Polygon Selection -> Select -> Surfaces -> KK_gunport (or whatever), can be useful to show what you've already done (or the opposite, "... Deselect...");
This took about five minutes (including flailing about a bit in DIM to find where it was installed - Tree View didn't refresh properly X), as I was typing this out:
ETA: second image below shows the option for finding where things have gone - it gives you a set of hyperlinks to the files themselves, but you can usually work out where they'll appear in your Content tabs (all the stuff under 'libraries' appears in the Poser structure file-tree, and the 'characters' folder is mapped to 'Figures'...).

MAN that would be an awesomeness render! Beautiful image.

..here's the finished version. I have the guns coming out from the left and right part of the grille.
