Ah ok, didnt see the first part. (the update thing) But yes i also wonder why there wasnt a core cat (Cat 8). Besides the love i have for cats it makes sense. Almost every character got a counterpart. (victoria - michael, Alexandra - Edward etc) With a feline You open so much posibilities.
It just baffles me We get an aiko 2.0 nobody asked for (Kanade 8) and not a cat which has numerous treads of people begging for....
I hate to say it, but I own the bundle, so it must be something else that triggers the banner.
Just in case, I've put a message in the "There's always another sale" thread, and we'll see what happens later in the day...

Cats are difficult to draw or paint (you can check it on a lot of masterpieces of painting) and so also to model. And frankly this cat looks like made by people loving dogs only :D Head is too tight, teeth are too small, body is too round (like if it was a fat cat)... But that's just my opinion. We need a new really realistic cat, feline species deserves it !
Well the new Daz house cat looks kinda bad...The dForce hair for the cat doesn't look like the cat has been groomed. Maybe it is a good thing this isn't Cat 8?
I think, to be realistic, cat should be modeled from the shape of a nude cat, not from a hairy one, and after modeling hairs can be put around.
This is terribly dissapointing, IMO. I was hoping for a NEW cat, that had better bends and materials (but mostly bends). I guess I'm going to have to have a look at the Hivewire Cat after all. It is at least newer than this old model.
I like the look of the new cat, but I can't help but think that Daz have missed an opportunity here to have a big launch like they did for Dog 8.
No banner for me either, though I do have Millennium Cat, Millennium Cat Bundle and various other bits in my product library. Though it doesn't sound logical, I wonder if the banner is for people who bought several Dog 8 products on launch. Was there a bundle?
Anyway, I'll very likely buy the new cat just for the dForce hair, but it does seem like Daz missed out on this one.

new cat but it's the old cat, have a few of the mil cats/add ons so thought I'd look up how many what I had with the box hide what I have unchecked and well looks like all the mil cat has been deleted removed except for some poses, so those that don't have any of the old stuff your out of luck. Even though it doesn't mention who did this it looks like an update from TimTim aka Oso3D looks like his style, Daz doesn't always now include/add who created something when the buy out a product and several artists have fully sold a lot of their products to Daz now but like said looks like Oso3D judging by his based on his other animal coversions

Cat with iray, weightmapped and fur and the a selection of poses and textures already made? That's more than good enough to me! And I can gladly keep my coins here and pay for those items :)
Wow. I’m not really a cat person and have no need for cats in my work... but I legit feel bad that y’all didn’t get a Cat 8 with the Genesis morphing technology like the dog did. :/
tbh, the Hivewire House Cat is far, far better anyways.
Not going to bother. I expect DAZ to run their business in a professional, sleek manner. But the past year, I'm starting to have more and more doubts about this.
-Emails get sent out the door much later these days (I used to get them within an hour after a new sale went up, nowadays I get them at least three hours later)
-Constant mess ups with the store, coupons not showing, discounts not working, links directing to the wrong pages.
All this makes me strongly suspect that the website has been outsourced to some third party (cheapest bidder of the lot) that doesn't natively speak English and still didn't get a grip on all of its maintenance features.
More likely they have a lot more traffic and a lot more users than they used to, thus causing delays in emails (having to send out, for example, ten times more messages takes way more time), and hurting webpage response times.

The purple banner popped up for me, and it said 20% off entire cart. I've had Kanade 8 stuff in my cart for a few days now, waiting to see if there was a followup offer, and the 20% off coupon applied to the Kanade 8 stuff made it worth the buy.
I ALMOST bought the https://www.daz3d.com/3rfd-suit-for-genesis-8-female, but the high heels were a turnoff, so I grabbed the bandages instead. I didn't want the outfit that badly, but if it had a low heels option, it would have been an insta-buy for me. Ahh well...
Of course, in my haste, I FORGOT to grab the $70 in free stuff for Kanade 8. Oops... not sure I can work that one out with a ticket... guess I'll try.
Anywys, a few of you seem disapponted in the cat. I'll give it a spin to see if it was worth the $3-$4 I paid, but I was excited to see a new cat so hopefully it's worth it!
This is disappointing. Cat 8 is what many people have been asking for and expecting. Instead we get what amounts to an Iray conversion of an older product with d-force hair tacked on. Im not at all certain that this product can be used in the same scene as the current G8 figures without looking glaringly toonish. Would someone be kind enough to toss together a quick render in order to help me decide if I should purchase this?
Does the LAMH free player plug in even work with the latest iteration of DAZ Studio?

Okay, I know I often make derisive jokes about each pretty white Genesis 8 girl being "Malibu Stacy with a New Hat"... but, wow, this cat really does fit that description to a T: it's basically the Millennium Cat, with a few slight tweaks and dForce "fur".
still debating on it but here's renders of the mil cat and using the two classic cats add ons which they no longer sell here
Unpopular opinion coming through: I like the look of the LAMH fur much better than dFur. It just looks softer and fluffier. dForce fur looks bristly and coarse. I know it's a new technology, that it may improve in look with time, and LAMH was yesterday's thing, but still...
I still adore MillCat, so I'll be getting this guy all the same.
So many people sad that this new cat is an upgrade not Cat 8. Me? I have been wishing ever since I got Dog 8 that it came with lots of coat colors and breeds (like Mil Dog bundle) &/or could use all my Mil Dog stuff. Now I am now wondering when we get dForce Dog 8 coats or if LAMH has presets. :) Must be 1 of those Dog People aren't like Cat People things :)
I am also very happy I.can adopt this Housecat for under $5 and without nearly killing my husband (extreme cat allergy that shots barely help).
