A friend from Canada just linked this to me: https://www.reddit.com/r/CoronavirusUK/comments/fkbsbk/cambridge_university_press_just_made_all_its/
and on that other universities are apparently opening up their libraries. Since this is free and may help others pass the time, and learn, and give them ideas... I hope this is okay with the moderators.

  • by having a DAZzling time!

Just followed this through to the CUP site to find that 'Due to performance issues caused by unprecedented demand and reported misuse, we have had to temporarily remove the free access to textbooks. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are working to address these concerns to reinstate free access as soon as possible.'.

    Shame.

    Apparently not...

    Textbooks

For st patty's day i decided to make some egg bread and risen nut bread. I love my bread machine only take a couple of hours to make about any type of fresh bread even pizza dough. much easier than having to hand need the bread dough for sure.

My Mom taught me to cook when I was in my teens, almost 50 years ago, and I loved cooking. She tried to teach me to make bread but I never got the hang of it, though I can make great tea buns and cakes.... I make a great carrot cake. Mom made fantastic bread, white and whole bread, and I still love the crunchy crust from toast. My brother is fantastic at making bread, and often treats me to a loaf.

Here a lot of food is imported, though like most places we were completely self-sufficent in food in the before time.  I strongly suspect that this will awaken many people to again start growing their own food.

I learned to bake bread when I was sixteen. We (ex) and I moved to from St. John's to St. Lawrence for a year and my landlord taught me how to cook. We'd make toutons served with molasses while we waited for the bread to bake.

Yes but they said they will be back once they tighten up the controls to avoid the misuse. And there is a list of other universities to look at.

My friend also linked me to https://www.177milkstreet.com/school/classes/online-classes which is free through 30 April 2020. So cooking classes.

NY State governor has just declared that only 50% of business employees can leave home.  Only 25% can be at the office.  Does not apply to vital services like supermarkets, gas stations, utilities, etc.

Grain of salt:  I couldn't re-find the article I read, perhaps too new for Google to find it?  So, can not confirm.

I also self taught making french stick bread and other breads depending on avaialble ingredients. Always good to be prepared.

They said it was enough to wear a face mask and gloves should you need to go buy basic groceries. Yeah, right. I felt like a fool in the shop, because everyone else had trousers and a shirt too.

I think you mean you are waiting for a different species of apes to take over. We are one of the four existing species of apes.

Already had a one year supply of soap(bar&liquid) Toilet rolls and deodorant sticks as part of my standard practice. ....... Sort of sucks having to use furniture etc and my own body weight to create resistance to get in my morning workout.(onsite fitness center shuttered) ..... Totally migrated my content creation from C4D to blender 2.8 so keeping very busy.

Something that was relayed to me today . People that still need basic supplies might try looking in places like walgreens and rite aid  other drug stores. I was told by one of our preepper friends this afternoon  that they have bread and milk and other simple food items  they were in a walgreens and they were full stocked with the those basic items tha its why I am writing this to advise people should check those stores as well. in these times try to think outside the box.  you may pay more but chances are those drug stores have not been cleaned out because people are avoiding them for fear of being around sick people getting their prescriptions.. Just some friendly advice that was relayed to me today through the our network.

    Stay safe

Rite Aid is a HUGE store with just the pharmacy in back and was actually the first store to run out of hand sanitizer in both stores near me. And many supermarkets like Ralph's also have a pharmacy so it doesn't really make a difference. And since there is no prescription for Coronavirus anyway, people are just getting their regular medications there... What I'm the most scared of is the checkout line and the Trader Joe's I go to has an elevator.

Also the virus stays on objects for 24 hours to 3 days. So don't use purchases right away or wash everything really well, including the packages, cans, etc... The virus lasts 24 hours on cardboard so don't touch any packaged products for that long if you can't wash it,

Ugh, just got another notification from my Citizens app that yet another pedestrian was struck by a vehicle within my 1 mile radius. This is something humans CAN control, yet they don't. Hospitals will have enough problems without overcrowding due to careless drivers and jaywalkers!

It was just a suggestion that was passed on to me. . if you live in a more populated area it make sense those places are wiped out. it rather rural here and most parts of the country.

I seen where they said it could live on packages up to 4 days  and 1 on cardboard. we been sticking the our mail in a box in the camper all accept for the electronic stuff we get that come rapped in plastic or come in plastic bubbled rapped protective packaging we just spray that with Lysol spray and wipe down the product good . we got some new upgraded hand radios to replaced the hand radios we use for when my husband up in the back of the property i can call him on it. he ran one over with the 4 wheeler a couple of days ago..lol

sorry for the edits my dyslexia is showing
