For me the credits for Honni 8 took two days, though I suspect some of that may be caused by timezone differences. Haven't looked at the time in Utah yet, but have they actually changed day yet, or are they still at yesterday so to say?

As far as I know, DAZ midnight is switchover time, so it's today there now.

    One more with Eli.

(No "dingalings" were involved in the creation of this image. So if you "see" a dingaling, you're probably looking WAY too hard.)

Great work on both! But a question:

Did you shade his legs that color (because the water is hot)? Or use the Holt skin? Or is it a trick of the lighting?

I was leaning toward buying the bundle due to the extra discount today, but if Eli has bizarrely red knees like Holt, then I might be skipping it after all. Eli's skin looks normal in the promos... ?

These didn’t make it into the store promos but I wanted to show you guys the amazing detail Emrys put into his sculpting!

He put a TON of HD details into Eli

Been undecided about the bundles but having a character with great Normal Maps out of the box made this an easy purchase.

Thank you for sharing the details :)

  • Holt 8 had eyebrows listed as 'facial hair' and 10 eyebrow color options. I haven't been able to find them. I suspect those are the missing files that cause it to show in 'Lost and Found'.

Lost and Found has nothing to do with missing files - it's for items that are not otherwise categorised

If that is the case Richard, why do I have new and old files stuck in that tab, when everything is categorized?

The only Surface setting that I changed was the Glossy Layered Weight (removal of the map to make everything more glossy).

I can set up another shot to show off the legs without modificiation.

(EDIT: The higher reflectivity and the red wallpaper in the room could be doing it...)

Are you sure those files are categorised? If you are looking at the Products tab of Smart Content then a product will appear in every category that one of its files is in - so just one uncategorised file will drop an entry for the product into Lost and Found.

    For scientific purposes... Eli (again).

The legs do get gradually darker, but that's probably a photo resource thing? I think it looks natural, but that's my opinon.

Another bites thexdust. Bought both bundles. With the gc used, getting 10 and 20% discount, it made the pricing very attractive. I'm not into yee haw stuff, but, these bundles look really good. The characters have character, especially in the weird bundle. Big plus, male. I have way too many female characters

@daveso I received a purple banner for extra 10% on a gc... did yours work on the bundles too? Unless your banner was a different one.

My banner "GC Discount for the Bundle Buyer" doesn't work on the bundles, sadly - there's no promo code to enter but it just knocks off another 10% off a gc purchase with no effect on the bundles in the cart. Oh well, "there's always another sale" :)

I just spent an hour and got the thumbnails to appear for the files that were missing them. All had 0kb on their .jpgs. Richard, I also took the dForce Sunset outfit and textures into Content DB Editor and looked at each file individually. All appeared to have the correct categories and and Type selected as well as compatibilities. I simply can't see a reason for these files to be in Lost and Found. Unless there was another set of textures or another clothing item that is missing?

Sometimes a link to the PA's store will show up later and be an issue, but that is generally easy to fix. There are exceptions.

Edit, I think I found the problem on the clothing, none of the 3DL materials are included. Nope there they are.

My Holt 8 character has 99 files in Lost and Found (if I counted them correctly), none that I recognise - e.g. pjcm_holt8_thighfwd_57_l.dsf.  I assume they are supposed to be hidden files?  They appear to be doing no harm, but my Lost and Found is cluttered enough as it is.

That's the name of a technical morph file. No idea why it appears there, "data" files shouldn't be visible.

I just finished my render of Holt 8 and the dForce Sunset Rider Outfit and Textures. He is standing in the Hacienda Hermosa. I must say, the outfit is wonderful to work iwth and when the render started to form, the dirt came visible. I wasn't expecting it and was so pleased. I played with all the textures and just mixed them up. The hair has a 'hat hair' option so RedzStudio, my thanks to you.

I like him a lot. Whoever sculpted him and did his textures, thank you.

That looks great! Although I'd have to substitute some other chaps for those thin, flat ones. May I suggest the superb Stoneworks shader series to pump some Iray life into the Hacienda? They will make it look fabulous, once you play with the tiling and turn on the displacement. Thanks for posting.

Many Daz customers have come to expect that products (especially Core Figure bundles) will have issues upon release. And if it's male wear, some of those issues will never be fixed. It seems to have become "the culture."

I think so. I returned the whole Scar 8 Pro bundle and all the freebies I got with it, because none of the help requests I submitted about content problems were fixed. I just gave up. I haven't purchased Holt. It sounds too frustrating. Maybe if the problems get resolved, I 'll take another look. I'm sad that my purchasing at the Daz store dries up to almost nothing, because of all the problems and the fact that every help request goes into the bottomless pit of the "bug tracker", never to be heard of again. sadI have a lot of store credit. I'd like to find something worth spending it on.

I'm sorry to hear that. I was disappointed in Scar's skin, but I'm comparing them all to Dain, Dasan, Vladimir, & Nix. To me, Kwan, Ashan, Valentino, & Jonathan were pretty good, but Scar's skin looked flat, like the spec map was not done well. Daz can keep selling me Core Figures, but if they keep mucking up the Bundles, they're going to... nope---it doesn't make sense to buy a new Core Figure for ten to twenty dollars less than a bundle.

Thank you for the compliment and the suggestion. I went back this morning and used those shaders and others to work on the Hacienda portions in the scene and updated them. The only thing I had to use a basic Uber shader on was the Saltillo Tile, all the great tile shaders and none for those wonderful tiles we still use in the southwest. The difference is noticeable. As a note on the Hacienda, I am amazed at the work Faveral put into it. The building show a difference in materials and styles that would happen over time as new structures were added gradually. I need to use it more often.

I need to catch up on my Gen 8 figures next sale, I need Tara 8, Celani 8, and Kwan 8.   I got slightly confused with Tara and Kwan as they weren't the normal Pro Bundles.

On another note, which has nothing to do with troubles.. atleast not for me ^^ My first render with Eli, here he is mixed up with a couple of others as well. THe mix in question is Eli 80%, Callan 19%, Christian for g8m 15%, John for g8m 20%, Dain 8 15% & Griff 10%. The texture is Eli... enjoy ^^

He leaned back against the wall and glared at the broken shower wall. The ones that had decided to take their fight into HIS bathroom and ultimately break it was going to regret that, there would be hell to pay when he got hold of them.

Thank you! Eli's legs look normal enough in that shot. I suppose that I was a bit paranoid after seeing Holt's knees (in particular the seventh and eighth shots in the bar under the main Holt promo image). Much appreciated.

The price after credit for both bundles and the HD add-on will be $33.20, which is around a 90% discount. Purchased, mostly due to Eli (which requires Holt) and Nathan Fade Haircut - those would total $45.02 at their current 51% discount. Sawyer, Seven, Harold, and Banker's Outfit are also interesting/appealing to various degrees, and I didn't have the horse (which will be useful after some future sale that includes the upgrades), so it's not a bad deal.

But I do wish Daz would focus more on quality rather than quick releases with blowout pricing - I feel like a lot the outfits in Daz bundles lately could have been great with a bit more time in the oven, if the PAs were given some advice on how to thicken the appearance of edges (which is definitely possible) and make dForce clothes/pants wrinkle a bit and settle like real clothing. They're not terrible - they just missed the mark and needed some TLC applied to the details (perhaps because they were rushed to meet deadlines).
  • Would any kind soul who purchased Seven be willing to post some renders of him in a pair of briefs from diffeant angle and with the default not sci-fi/scarred skins? I'm curious to buying him for his skin textures, but since he's completely covered up in the promo images, it hard to tell how he looks :/

    Thanks!
