....but there is a recipe application she sometimes uses that is DOS and just won't run on Windows 8.1. At least I don't think it will. I'm not even sure if we still have the installer for it. It's old. It's called MealMaster.

Woul;d it run under DOSBox? That's, I think, a well maintained application so there's a good chance it will run under Windows 8.

I've heard of that, I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion!

what does this wifi error mean?

Without seeing a message, how can we know? There is an "i" icon there. Is it clickable? If so, click it. "i" is for information.

I don't see one of those in that image. I see a question mark and an "i" icon.

ETA: Oh, I see a yellow triangle there. But still, there's no message, so there's no way to tell what it means. It could be many things. All we can say for sure is that something is wrong.

A yellow triangle on top of the wi-fi bars (like this one) usually means there is wifi present, but something is keeping you from connecting to the internet. Which doesn't explain how Kulay uploaded the image.

Not sure about MiG15 liveries, best I can find is from the 64th Fighter Aviation Corps someone gave me as a reference but can't find the numbering system, pretty sure it was red/ 3 digits
A quick google shows a definite trend for 3 red digits on the nose, with the middle digit being around vertically underneath the front edge of the canopy.

Hey thanks, I'm just gonna have to go back to the person that wanted it, embarrassing cos is weeks late oh well. Think the red number is ROK but the red nose is Soviet, if I get it wrong I'll have to do it again the military folks are quite pedantic about getting the country/unit right

...I know, from my scale modelling days.

Sadly nobody seems to care as much about authenticity when it comes to civilian aircraft. About the only properly detailed airliner out there is the Boeing 737-800 by 2nd World available at Rendo. Vanishing Point comes close with a few models but control surfaces, fuselage details (particularly the wing root area) and windows are often incorrect. The VIckers VC-10 (which I need for my story) looks more like a bizjet than the sleek majestic intercontinental airliner that was BOAC Icon as the windows are far too large and the wrong shape.

    1. VP VC-10

    2. The "Real" Thing:

The BOAC colours are very distinctive - is that Royal Blue ? Cos there are two distinct shades of Azure that may or may not be "Royal", the darker one is more purply/red :)

Hey speaking of aircraft that was a coincidence
...it's not so much the markings, those are easy to create, it's the fact the windows, doors and proportions of the model are incorrect. There is a Super VC-10 over at TS but it is expensive, only in .3ds format, and is the RAF tanker version instead of the commercial airliner.

    ...losing contest entry drop.

This was for the Miss Renderosity contest. Thought cute might b able trump boobs & bums but guess I was wrong.

The contest is being done in three tiers ,Swimsuit (#1) evening gown (#2) and talent (#3). Feel like Tiger Woods not even making the first cut which of 95 from 300 entries.

Wish the quality of the work that went into the images mattered more as I saw some that made the second round which looked like Vicky was just dropped in with with the old Cyclorama beach background (that one which is too dark) and rendered without even a concern for the lighting.

Getting the water to look right alone took about a week. This used four instances of teh Rolling Plains prop to create the beach, sand underneath the water, the landscape across the water and it's beach. There was also a tonne of "mapbashing".

That is an excellent render, KK! Amazing kit-bashing. Some people wouldn't know quality if it bit them...well, on the "bum". :)

I think that's an awesome image. Love the water and the footsteps in the sand.

Yes thanks throat is still a bit raw but seem to be generally a little livelier now. Starting to get cabin fever from being inside so much but my family is threatening intervention if I take on any more production work this winter so I guess I'll have to live with it, is a bit of a gilded cage here so not so bad

I'm guessing but in the song Casey Jones sat on top of the railway locomotive so he could spot trouble coming :)
