rant of the day: went to a certain online forum to ask about people's opinion about a certain electronic product. One guy gave a snippy remark which I didn't understand. Had to read the his next post to see this person was being sarcastic. Why are some people mean or useless when clueless newbies ask for advice?? Get off your high horse!

More info: There was a sale of portable music players where the players cost less than $100. I asked which one I should get. Person should've said that the all of them are poor quality. Instead, the poster said that "they are cheap for a reason". I'm like, yeah, what is the reason?? Are they popular or something?

Now I know why I stay on the Daz forums; people are so much nicer here.

sorry, had to get that off my chest.

edit: can't think straight because of headache.

Fiancée has an all day meeting, so no lunch with him today. Have a meeting at City Hall at 1:30 this afternoon. The work order tracking software needs to update their map and needs info on how my street layer works. Fun times

Even now I can still see our French mistress at school, short grey hair, unfashionably long tweed skirt, twinset (and a Miss at that) getting really annoyed because we kept getting things like that wrong. She was Miss Drinkwater but evreyone referred to her as Guz (short for guzzle), but not to her face of course. lol

today might be the day for a sugar free vanilla syrup Vanilla Frappacino. instead of using the vanilla bean powder, they use the sugar free vanilla syrup. not too bad. but everything sugar free is an acquired taste.

Drinkwater is actually and old British surname of Anglo-Saxon origin. I know that because she used to tell us quite often, as she knew that people thought her name was a funny one.

Of course now we can all find out the origins of where names come from, due to the interweb we can see that originally it was possible more of a nickname and given to a miser, meaning one who was so cheap that he drank water rather than small beer which most people drank because water was not very safe to drink way back when

One very good reason not to pet an armadillo. No matter how cute they are.

    ...losing contest entry drop.

This was for the Miss Renderosity contest. Thought cute might b able trump boobs & bums but guess I was wrong.

The contest is being done in three tiers ,Swimsuit (#1) evening gown (#2) and talent (#3). Feel like Tiger Woods not even making the first cut which of 95 from 300 entries.

Wish the quality of the work that went into the images mattered more as I saw some that made the second round which looked like Vicky was just dropped in with with the old Cyclorama beach background (that one which is too dark) and rendered without even a concern for the lighting.

Getting the water to look right alone took about a week. This used four instances of teh Rolling Plains prop to create the beach, sand underneath the water, the landscape across the water and it's beach. There was also a tonne of "mapbashing".

That's a real nice pic, good job! :cheese:

It's tough.. SOMETIMES cute can trump boobs, but it's a rare occurrence. :long: Regardless, *I* like your pic and think you did a kick butt job! :cheese:

under boob trumps over boob or straight on boob

I have noticed this. but I have no explanation WHY it seems to be true. :blank: It doesn't make biological sense, therefore it must be social/cultural in nature... :-S

I think it's all about the tease.

(the job applying is not tiring but not having much sleep last night was the cause of my exhaustion.

DAZ3D has a limited number of 50's clothing items, for Genesis, in the PC. I haven't seen much anywhere, really, with the exception of a poodle dress I got a while back at Renderosity, I think, and a 50's ponytail hair style for V4.

I thought I saw a fifty style outfit somewhere. Trying to remember where. But it was for V4 not Genesis 1 or 2.

    Tuesday complaints!

    - Lighting is a pain in the neck
    - A diner looks weird just sitting alone on a plane, nee3ds surroundings
    - Coffee is cold
    - Outdoors is hot
    - Out of beer :ahhh:
    - Need to install city blocks to use as surroundings for the diner
    - Need the giant armadillo to attack the diner

    Non-complaints:

    -Woke up :blank:

I'd like to see giant armadillo attack the diner, along with alien space fishies

I grabbed the armadillo from DAZ in my last shopping spree, so we're good to go there. Creating the SPACE TUNA is going to be more difficult as bolting spaceship wings on a tuna isn't the easiest, or prettiest,thing... :bug:

    More coffffffffffffffffffffffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :blank:

ps. had this GREAT beer last night called "Dead Armadillo" - I kid you not. Strong and tasty, but didn't taste anything like I thought an armadillo would... :smirk:

I didn't even know DAZ had an armadillo. Thanks to you, it's wishlisted. As a Texan I have it. It's our state mammal, you know. How does "Dead Armadillo" compare to the Shiners?

Yeah, being an ex-Texan an armadillo is a nice reminder of past days at Ginnys Little Longhorn Saloon, listening to Dale Watson.

Dead Armadillo isn't as smoothly drinkable as a Shiner, though both are amber beers. The Dead Armadillo is a high alcohol-per-volume beer.. 6.9 as opposed to 4-something for Shiner, so it has a more bitter alcohol aftertaste, and it's very hoppy. 2-3 is my limit before I have t change to Shiner, Heineken, or the like. But after 3, you'll be pretty happy (heh)! :bug:

I'll watch for Dead Armadillo around here. My kids took me to Opal Divine's Sunday evening.

MOST of the DAZ forums are nice. I got turned off by the snippy comments in Hexagon early on and never went back. There is no excuse for rudeness.

From the Center for Disease Control (2013): "While it’s possible for you to get the disease from an armadillo, the risk is low. Most people who come into contact with armadillos are unlikely to get Hansen’s disease."

It felt really odd going to one of our usual lunch haunts and cutting my order in half.

When we go to Whataburger, we order the same meals: the grilled chicken fajita tacos. In fact, the manager there knows us so well that she tells the staff to start making those tacos before we even reach the register. And the cashier asked where was fiancé today. That level of service is so nice

..but now I want a nap.. urgh..

Spent my last $15 on a set of bone-filled catacombs and some cookware (thanks Exnem!) for Vicky's Diner. Now Vicky can chase Mike and Aiko with a frying pan!!! DDDDIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!! :ahhh: :ahhh:
