Wow! Congratulations on the publication of your book! And WOW, again, it sounds really exciting! I can't imagine the feelings you must be experiencing. The cover art is definitely fantastic! I'll have to decide which version to get.

Thanks a bunch - I'm mostly happy with the cover. You know how it is though, it's hard not to keep picking at your own art.

If it helps at all, you can buy the paperback version and acquire the Kindle version as a MatchBook item for .99.

Thanks! It's actually the third cover I did. Jaki had to suffer through all of my angst and doubt as I made one, and then a few months later I'd tell her how I hated the last one and now had done another one. Rinse repeat.
~ROFL~ But what are friends for, if not to suffer along with you.

    Exactly!! :D

    and oh, how i've suffered....*grin*

I remember one of the first covers, the purple-ish one. I really liked that one. In truth, all the covers Lee has done have been brilliant, but I REALLY like the final one. :D

Thanks so much, Mardook. It was exhausting at times, but also supremely satisfying. It's fun to be able to point at something so involved and strut a little over your accomplishment. )

Hmmm, let me see if I can find those earlier covers, Jaki. I'll post them here for fun. No one's allowed to point and laugh though. :-P

Oh, boy, now I'm nervous. My copies aren't supposed to arrive until Monday, so you'll get to see the printed version before I do!

Okay, I found the very first version of my book cover. This one is very purple. I'm surprised, it's not as horrifying as I expected it to be. :gulp:

Thanks, RAM. That is one of my favorite fonts. It's Trajan.

The font I used on the final cover is called Salamanca. I went with it because of its extensive library of fancy glyphs (another reason why I had to learn InDesign since Photoshop and Word can't access glyphs).

I like Salamanca, but it's a $30.00 tag so I'll have to hold off but it's nice that I have a copy of the Trajan! Looks nice!

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention that I got Salamanca during a sale at Might Deals. It still cost me $24, but I got seven other fonts along with it. Keep an eye on Might Deals because they do repeat offers. The also have a few freebies that you may find useful (grunge backgrounds and the like).

In fact, I just noticed that the same font bundle is currently on sale at Mighty Deals again. If you go to "All Deals" it's on page 4.

Now that is the WORST thing you could tell a fontaholic. Just what I need is more fonts to add to my 1,000+ font collection. Sheesh, woman!!!

Just kidding, of course. I really like Salamanca, and Moonface is pretty nice too. I'm assuming I'd have to reinstall Illustrator (didn't when I got this laptop 2 1/2 years ago) to use the .otf version, but I could use the .ttf files in Photoshop. Is that correct?

Geeze, I never should've gone to that site. I just found 3 other items on sale I like. ~shakes head~

P.S. The font package is on page 5 now.

Oh, my! I seem to have brought chocolate chip cookies to a Weight Watchers meeting. I don't know whether to say "you're welcome" or "I'm so sorry"!

I hope you guys enjoy all your goodies!

And yes, TTF should work fine in Photoshop.

Congratulations on your book! It's something to celebrate!

I don't spend money on fonts by themselves, though there's a few I might consider in bulk (Blambot fonts, for instance): my current font go-to is FontSpace, where I've posted a few of my own under the handle RedruthBelow.

Thank you, Kevin. I'm still riding high on a wave of giddiness. My order of bookmarks just arrived yesterday, so now I'm plotting to foist them on people.

Eustace, I found a Redruth's Basement Software - I'm assuming that's you. I'm impressed with anyone who can construct their own fonts. I especially like Black Sam's Gold and Carpal Tunnel. Carpal Tunnel would make a great font for a thriller novel.

    IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It arrived this morning, and I just got it (and 4 other books I ordered) from my doorman a few minutes ago.

You will be very pleased with it. It looks gorgeous!!!! Can't wait to start reading it.

I read the first 3 chapters last night winding down from work.. I had to force myself to put it down, I could have easily stayed up all night reading it cover to cover. So far LOVING it,

Yeah, that's me. "Redruth," from a bit-character in Treasuer Island, was my first AOL handle in high school and the basement was actually my folks'. Black Sam's is from a map in the National Geographic showing where a pirate ship sank, Carpal Tunnel was scanned from my dad's old typewriter and Fountain Pen Frenzy still somewhat resembles my own handwriting. Making fonts requires specialized software and is rather a tedious PITA, kind of like 3D art.

I'm glad you like the looks of 'em. Feel free to make what use you will.

Oh wonderful, another font site to add to my large set of font bookmarks. I've not seen this site before, and things look verrrrrrry interesting.

I also like your Carpal Tunnel font. As for Fountain Pen Frenzy, when I first looked at it, I thought it said Fountain Pen Therapy. It wasn't until I looked at the typed font name, that I realized the last word was Frenzy.
