Oh, boy, now I'm nervous. My copies aren't supposed to arrive until Monday, so you'll get to see the printed version before I do!

Okay, I found the very first version of my book cover. This one is very purple. I'm surprised, it's not as horrifying as I expected it to be. :gulp:

I still like that cover! LOL. That's the one that is on the epub version of your earlier draft in my iPad. :D

    IT'S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It arrived this morning, and I just got it (and 4 other books I ordered) from my doorman a few minutes ago.

You will be very pleased with it. It looks gorgeous!!!! Can't wait to start reading it.

It is a relief to hear that the cover is showing up in good condition and print quality. I still won't lay eyes on my copy until tomorrow, and I've been quite anxious about it.

Of course, the more important issue is does the content meet your expectations. I hope it does. Fisty's comments give me a lot of hope.

I'm sure it will. I'm leaving shortly, and won't be home this evening, so hope to start reading it tomorrow.

The printing is damn near perfect, and the paper is very heavy, like 3 times as thick as a common paperback, I kept thinking I was turning 2 pages by accident at first. The color is good on the cover too, I know printing is often too dark compared to the screen so either you lightened it before sending them the graphic or the printer did.. either way it's spot on. Only physical thing I can complain about is the fault of Amazon or the post office, or both.. the back cover of mine got kinda crunched in shipping.

Well I'm on chapter 11 and I got barely any work done yesterday when I should have...... LOL And I love your gallery picture here with the painting on the wall fixed to be the right version of the story. Your story telling style is much like RA Salvatore who is in my top 2 favorites (other being Neil Gaiman.) The pacing is perfect, I haven't run into any spots that seemed to be dragged out too long or gone too fast for enough detail. It's so far been scary, disgusting, romantic, playful, horrifying, and saddening.. it really runs the gambit of emotions, but it does elicit strong emotions so I would definitely say it qualifies as art.. good art.

I finally got to see a copy of the final version of the book. One of the guys at work had a copy and he allowed me to paw it. Extremely happy that it isn't overly dark. I did lighten the image quite a bit before I sent it in, and I'm glad I did. As for the heaviness of the paper, they had the option of going with white or cream. A friend had warned me that the white was pretty light weight and cheap, so I went with the cream.

Sorry to hear about the munching of the back cover. You'd think with all the fancy packaging and such we have these days they could avoid that.

Heheheh, glad you liked the image. I'd forgotten I'd uploaded that here. I guess I could dig out some of my other old pictures that relate the story and post them. I'm kinda curious myself at this point how far back things go. I may be pretty horrified to find out how long I've been obsessed with this story.

Wow, that's pretty illustrious company to compare me too. I hope my neck can support my rapidly swelling head. P Thank you!

I'll be interested in how you find the ending. One of my friends wanted to hurl the book at me, but fortunately, she was a beta reader with an electronic version, so I survived her virtual assault. :bug:

    Oh, dear!

I was going to ask you to go write a review at Amazon (and Goodreads if you have an account there), but now I'm not sure that's a good idea! ;-)

I am so pleased it left you wanting more.

I recommend a bowl of something chocolate. But then I recommend a bowl of something chocolate regardless of the circumstances. :)

Indeed.. get chocolate and comfortable and don't expect it to let you sleep until you finish it.. and probably not even then for a while 'cause you won't be able to get your head out of the story..

Oh I loved it, best book I've read in years.. just a doozy of an ending. Our Amazon account is under my hubby's email so I have to figure out how to log in as him to leave a review.

Thank you for the lovely novel to read, it's been the only bright spot in an otherwise dreadful week. I desperately needed something to take my mind off work and it was perfect.

Does Redbubble count? If not, I can look into some other places. Here it is at Redbubble.

Awesome cover! I am an avid reader of fantasy so you have not only shown me some nice cover art but have given me a new fantasy series to start reading. The cover did say "The Chronicles of Shadow Book I" right? That means that there is more to come... right??? Hehe they say never judge a book by its cover but I am wanting to read the sequels and they haven't even been written yet. ;)

Wow, just in case people were unaware, reviews really do make a difference. After Fisty posted her review, three people clicked on the button that said the feedback was useful to them. Three people then bought my book. Fisty, if we're ever in the same neck of the woods, I owe you a dinner.

Well, a little over 3 hours and 6 chapters later, and I can tell you this is one very very good book!!! I would highly recommend it, and before you prompt me to do so, I plan on leaving a review as well.

Not quite 1/2 way through the book, and I'm already looking forward to book #2. ~gets in line next to Fisty to wait~
