A duck goes into a drug store and asks for some Chapstick™. Druggist asks, "Will that be cash or charge? The duck says, "Just put it on my bill."

I worked so hard to get home in time. I crossed a busy street just to catch the bus to get home just in time. That intersection has no crosswalks and is extremely busy especially during rush hour traffic.

    ...I hear you on that.

Where I live there is a very busy street (even though it is primarily a residential neighbourhood) posted at 35 mph (most of course drive faster than that) with no crosswalks except at an intersection several blocks east and one several blocks west which have traffic lights. These lights are also poorly timed so as not to allow for a total break in traffic for those crossing between the two intersections (to get to/from shops and a market). There are no "safety islands", so one either has to stand in a traffic lane and wait for the other traffic to clear (hoping not to be hit in the meantime), run across the street (not easy for older people like myself), or as I end up doing, waiting anywhere from five to even ten minutes for there to be a decent break in the traffic going both ways before crossing.

The sad thing it usually takes someone being hit and killed for any action to be taken.

A pity that cities have become more car, rather than people "friendly".
Yeah, I hope I am not one of the person hit and killed for that intersection to get help. It is not my fault that is the only area the number 8 and 54L meet. Other than going down town, I do not know of any other way to go from the YMCA to home.

...so has Misty (I miss the dog nose).

    ...agh! Complaint!

The hotspot must be having serious bandwidth issues today. Getting a lot of seemingly endless "Connecting" loops in FF on a number of sites including ShareCG and Rendo. Even clearing the cache doesn't seem to help.

...I miss having a high sped connection from home.

I am thinking of changing my avatar to a Lilith one once I get her to smile right or something like that.

...still using my old V4/S4/A4 version of "the Kid". Do have both a Genesis/A5 and G2F version which I might change to someday.

That's just me. It appears to be impossible to look natural in a "selfie". :)

    I really despise squealers.

Fiance's mother has a giant old mesquite tree in her front yard and it's been slowly growing over the sidewalk. Periodically, Fiance and I will go and trim the branches that are blocking the sidewalk. Yesterday, someone came by to offer to cut the tree and she said he looked drunk. She told him no, she didn't have the money to pay for that and he warned that she'll get a fine from the city.

Two hours later, a code enforcer came by and gave her a week's notice to get the limbs seven feet above the sidewalk. The timing is too much to be coincidence, so we're sure the guy reported it, probably with the intent of returning. Unfortunately, those branches are too big for our tools to cut, so we'll be hiring a real tree service to cut the tree. It's going to look pretty bare at first, but it will grow upwards instead of sideways now.

Morning. A few fat pigeons outside my window looking confused by another big fog making it hard to tell where the ground ends and the sky starts :)

We got the opposite problem where we get told off if we cut foliage from our trees because the ringtail possums that live in the riverbank parks won't be able to hide from neighbourhood cats if they accidentally wander into our garden
