I was watching a movie which starts out in 1995 I think, but there was an anachronism.  A girl had a Twilight Sparkle plushie.  Twilight Sparkle was a generation 3 pony but not a pony in the first generation during 1995.  Very confusing.

edit correction; Twilight was gen 4 not gen 3.  Still out of place for taking place in 1995 when gen 1 was only ponies around.

Well... I learned something today... not that I didn't think that was a thing, I just never pondered the mechanics of that... which I have now... still not clear, but hopefully it doesn't involve half a dead horse and a lot of duct tape... or a pantomime centaur.... unless they are a reverse centaur which is a horse head on a human body... quite possible because the avatar looks like a yearbook photo... and since a reverse centaur is not really a centaur, I can see where they'd be roll-playing a regular centaur.

Its kind of a shame that society treats reverse centaurs so badly that they have to roll play being a regular centaur... but they are a bunch of filthy horse headed weirdos, so what can you do?

Sorry, I was in love with a Satyr once, but she cheated on me and now I'm very biased toward ancient Greek half human nature spirits.

The movie started in 1995?... that's a twenty six year long movie... I thought the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League was long.

I hate when people mess up My Little Pony chronology... the education system in this country is appalling... it's no wonder kids these days can't name all three Stooges or tell She-Ra from He-Man.

...in the Missions series for the Shadowrun Cyberpunk Role Play game I am involved with, one author wrote a tongue in cheek April Fools mission where My Little Pony meets the Shadowrun universe.

It was hilarious and a lot of fun.

I know what you are talking about, but I haven't the foggiest idea... probably erased that information to remember how to reassemble my lawnmower's carburetor or something... But thanks for putting this in my head... now I have another thing running in the background of my brain.
I can't even picture the cartoon... Was it a Hanna & Barbera show?

Edit... It's not this thing is it?... Chu-Chu from The Amazing Chan and the Chan Clan.

He imitated sounds and made lots of noises...

I feel like it was from a show with a ghost though... or maybe something like Penelope Pitstop (but not Muttley)...

Wait... was Muttley from there?... if not was it Muttley?

There was also Mumbly, who was a rip-off of Muttley, but was a detective...

Egh... I can't picture the show, or the character, only the begging sound and the happy sound.

Re-Edit... How about this dude... Goober from Goober and the Ghost Catchers...

That guy was a mess, a Scooby-Doo knock-off on a Scooby-Doo knock-off show... I feel like this dude is the most likely candidate since Scooby had his Scooby Snacks and they probably made him have some equivalent.

When you remember you have to let me know... I'll use my superior ability of forgetting to put this out of my mind until then... actually, it'll still be running in the background, my brain has sooooo many windows open at once...

By the way, when the dog got his treat, he'd hug himself and float down making yum-yum sounds... or something like that, right?

Yup... Geez, totally not what I was thinking of... Well, at least I remembered the part about the hugging himself and floating down... I think I was overlaying the sheepdog from looney toons with this guy... but that's definitely him.

Never thought it was from Quick Draw McGraw... at least that a Hana Barbera production.

Well, now I can close out that window and free up six whole neurons for other stuff... every single neuron counts.

    Thanks!

Speaking of TV cartoons, ... Anybody old enough to remember "Colonel Bleep"?  And can you name his home island?

Nope... I looked it up... I may have seen it somewhere, because it's vaguely familiar, but not enough that I'd actually know anything about it.

Well, I would have been 17 when it premiered; but I don't recall ever having seen it. And since I looked it up he came from planet Futura.

    I'm nervous about moving soon.

I have a confession.  I did something stupid the other day after I heard about moving.  I took my doll Nemo and took his head off his body and somehow damaged one of his eyes.  I'm trying to upload a photo of him before I deheaded him.  Good news for Nemo is that he can go to doll hospital and get his head put back on.

I need to learn stop doing stupid things when frustrated.

His home base here on Earth was "Zero Zero Island" at long-lat (0,0)  (under the western bulge of Africa)

I only saw it a few times at other people's houses where they could get that channel.  It was a stupid low quality cartoon, and once you saw one, there was no need to see others.  'Twas that memorable.indecision

    1st Episode

Note:  I've changed the link to the more probable 1st episode.  Also, the Wikipedia article about "Colonel Bleep" says it first appeared in 1957.  I was born in '48 and am now almost 72.  So, someone 17 at the time would now be 81.  So, is Charlie Judge really 82?  If so, I congratulate the admitted oldest geezer in the thread.devil

I'm nervous about moving.  Especially moving Summers and Loki.  They are goldfish so they need to stay in water.

Thats rather important... maybe transport them in appropriate plastic bags like they came in when you bought them... i have no idea how the tank will be moved, hopefully you prepared it in advance and hopefully it doesn't get cracked in transit.

Are you moving your stuff, or are movers involved?

If the tank is in your possession during transit, make sure to prevent crud from ending up in it and possibly contaminating it.

    Good luck.

I have a bucket I can use for the goldfish.  Both fish are too big for a bag or two.  Also Summers tail fin is too fragile to be put in a bag.

my cousin said she'd drive me to st cahterins hospital after she gets off work.  hopefully they can set me on the path to recovery.
i know they think i'm weird insisting i want a catholic hospital.  but i need some spiritual comfort, want to be surrounded by my faith.  i want nuns looking after me.

thinkin i need to re edit all my novels and put some spiritual messages in it. like forgiveness.

I had nuns looking after me... chasing after me too... they looked pretty mad... luckily I was fast enough and the wall wasn't too high that I couldn't leap over it... Apparently they are touchy about people in gorilla costumes borrowing their tomatoes... but that's neither here nor there...

I'm assuming you are referring to St. Catherine of Siena in Smithtown... I hear they are pretty good and are apparently sponsored by the Diocese of Rockville Centre, so I guess that means they are still an actual Catholic hospital... some hospitals with saintly sounding names are actually owned by corporations, so when that actually matters to someone it's always good to know who or what owns the hospital... Although the name "Saint Vanguard Health Systems of the Holy Investment Strategies" probably wasn't fooling anyone...

I've ended up in Good Samaritan a couple of times, which is also pretty good and part of the same Catholic Health Services system... I didn't chose it for religious purposes, it's a big hospital and has a decent reputation and was not too far away to drive to while bleeding profusely... well, I did wrap my hand up, but I still made a mess... There's a funny story attached to that... but most of my injuries have comical segues.
Good Sam was also where my friend who got a flesh eating bacterial infection was sent, and they did a good job saving his hand, which was pretty damn miraculous considering how bad it was... the infection, not the job they did.

I'm glad you found somewhere you'll feel comfortable with, and I think we are all hoping you start heading down that road to recovery.

And continuing down it and arriving at recovery and staying recovered...

Not just going down it a bit and veering off into the bushes, tipping over sideways and getting dragged off by squirrels... we'll have none of that now...

Seriously, get better and stay better.

That sounded like an order, but I've got nothing to effectively back that with other than to say we'll all be highly disappointed if you don't get better soon... I know you are probably like "Well, derrr, so will I"... But it's different when strangers (we're all pretty strange here) wish you well... it's the power of peer pressure, so you better start getting well or we won't think you are cool as we used to.

    I hope that worked.

    Well, good luck.

...even without fish or animals, I loathe moving.  Getting harder and harder to pack things up due to my creaky bones & joints..  Since I don't drive, I have to rely on others to help which means not only compensating them but paying for a U-Haul rental which is not as cheap as the adverts on the side of the van promote.

To empty my storage unit (about 3 - 4 hours total time) a couple years ago, it cost me over 70$ just for the rental and fuel alone.  A professional company would have charged me upwards of 500$. This is why in spite of how expensive it is here in Portland, this is where I am staying, I don't even want to think about the expense of moving across the country.
