Yes, although people who are not vaccinated are at greater risk. Also it will probably be less severe if you are vaccinated.

thank you!  I was vaccinated but I feel awful right now.

Yes, you can still contract it, but usually the symptoms are far less severe.
You can still get the regular flu too, even if you are vaccinated... I probably got it last month (flu) because I was feeling pretty crappy for a week or so, but if you are healthy, vaccinated and contract a strain of Covid 19, you still might feel a little sick... just not as sick as you would have been if you were unvaccinated... if one has underlying health issues like asthma, diabetes, chronic liver diseases, lycanthropy, sickle cell anemia and health issues caused by substance abuse (even formerly) or smoking and or vaping, the chances of one still getting ill despite being vaccinated are increased... but once again, it still should not be as bad as being unvaccinated.

If you suspect you may have Covid you should get tested... for the most part testing is far more available now than it was earlier, but I can't speak for your area, as many parts of the country are experiencing different levels of infection rates and therefore testing availability may be hampered by that...

There are also home testing kits available at most drugstore chains like CVS and Walgreens. They run about $30 and I've used them a couple of times and are fairly easy to use if you follow the instructions.

    Good luck and feel better.

Most local Rite-Aids do the drive thru testing, you'll just need to go online and look and see the closest location to get tested and make an appointment. I've had it done once cause we found out someone wasn't vaccinated around us and I ended up sick. I just had my booster last month so I'm good to go, theoretically. I have COPD from 20+ years of smoking and now vaping since 2012, I suffer from oxygen deprivation, have diabetes and overweight. To many strikes for my liking to trust in anything else. Dr didn't even really give me a choice he said "You're getting the vaccine, because if you get it you will end up on a ventilator and possibly die due to the oxygen deprivation". Granted I could've still said no but I wanted it anyway because of my health. We just don't allow unvaccinated people around us or in our house, even family. We just aren't taking any chances. But if you start getting the tell tale symptoms go immediately to the hospital. You should at least make an appointment with your doctor to see what's going on and to get their opinion.

Staff got upset at me because I texted the QP to see if I can get to the pet store.

I got two snails today.  I put them in my aquarium about half an hour ago.  I need to hurry up and learn patience because I'm worried why I haven't seen them move much.  They are probably resting after their big move!

edit trying to add a blurry picture of my new snails.

Yes, but the evidence suggests that even if you get a covid type infection, that having been vaccinated already, greatly improves your chances of having no or just minor reaction.  And lessens the chance of a severe reaction.

If you are not feeling well you shouldn't be going anywhere except to the doctor to get tested.

True!  I agree.  I tried asking the staff to go see my doctor.

    FYI:

The common cold is a covid type virus.

The flu is not. There is a yearly shot available for the flu. I always get the shot.

I'm fully vaxxed  and boosted for covid-19.

I do this not out of fear, but because it is sensible.

When you dealing with the possibility of a serious illness like COVID or the flu Monday is a long way off. If at all possible you should go before then, preferably TODAY.

Yeah, go ASAP, or you will just get worse!

Try an urgent care facility, they usually are quicker than any doctor visits, and can tell you if it's something serious.

Complaint.... The forums and the store are garbage on an iPhone..  you'd think with so many iPhones out there that might be a consideration by now. Gah.

With so many sales being time and impulse based, there must be lots of people shopping on their iPhones.

You need to teach the snail some tricks or at least a song... also it's too shy... it needs to come out of its shell.

thank you!  I was vaccinated but I feel awful right now.

..had an appointment for the boster scheuled for today at a clinic two blocks away went down this afternoon only to discover that the vaccinations were actually being done a at another location a fiarly good walk away.  I mentioned I would never make it there in time as I am on foot and had to have it cancelled.

Just doesn't feel right going to a Safeway or other big name market to get a vaccination against a fairly serious virus particularly as there are side effects and when I got my first & second one I had to remain at the site for a half hour due to an allergy I have just in case there was a complication.  Going to check the local Health Sciences University clinic as I heard they are doing the booster immunisations and the street tram stops right in front .Unfortunately they won't be open until Monday because of the holiday.

Joints and bones aching seriously due to a bout of "real winter" on the way that includes frozen water from the sky  Highs will be below freezing for several days, a couple days only in the 20s with lows in the teens.

I know! They are closed in their shells when I go near the tank.  Maybe it is from the vibrations of me walking there scares them?

...that's why I left north central Wisconsin 41 years ago (and I was much younger then). I don't think I could ever handle several months of "real winter" at my age with my creaky bones and joints. .The snow may be pretty and all, but the thought of slipping on a patch of ice and breaking something or waiting for a bus in those temperatures with a Beaufort 3 - 4 wind isn't.

I left Wisconsin but not 41 years ago, but getting closer to that each year.  I think it is thirty three years ago?
