For now, we have had -6C to -16C, but the forecast for the next two weeks is predicting colder at the end of next week and into the January.

COMPLAINT: I know damn well that any form of precipitation and cold weather hurt my body severally, but WTH is this crap? No snow and 55F on Christmas day! This is the only day of the year I don't mind being in horrific pain. I wanna wake up to snow on the ground and cold weather. This does not feel like Christmas.

I have told you before, that you are living too far south.

We had just some color on the groud, but yesterday and today it has been snowing and it's a bit more than ankle deep now, which is about as much as I can stand.

Siri told me it is currently 72 and clear. However my weather app says 70.

...my weather service says 39° and snow later this evening.into tomorrow as temperatures drop below freezing. .  So we will have a snowy Boxing Day.

Of course, my creaky joints and bones wouldn't mind 70° one bit.

...hmm, two interceptions in a row, very unsuual for the Geen Bay defense which I usually liken to having the all the toughness of warm Wisconsin butter.

...and then the defense turned back into melted butter again letting a deplteated Cleveland team (due to covid) run right though them for a touchdown.

After that, three and out, and had to punt.

Seems their coach needs to channel the great Vince Lombardi again at halftime

Did you know that it's not actually the rain/snow/humidity that hurts?  Think about it...our bodies are mostly water.   A little bit outside of our bodies wouldn't make a difference.  It is actually the atmospheric pressure that does it.  When such weather approaches, it comes with a Low.  The pressure is lower than normal, and this slight difference actually causes things in our bodies to slightly expand (basically - inflamation), so there's more contact with bones on other bones and cartilage and such, which causes irritation and pain.  the chief meteorologist on the channel I watch for the weather forecast talked about this a couple of years ago.  I thought, "That makes perfect sense!  Why didn't I think of that before?"

I've always thought that maple syrup would be a great substitute material to train people who have to work with contaminates or in situations where cross contamination is an issue...

Somehow maple syrup will manage to escape containment no matter what... if you are ready to handle Mrs. Butterworth, you are ready for Ebola or Uranium.

  • Hello and a happy post-Christmas to all!  I see there's a big DAZ sale going on.

Been away for awhile so I could focus on work.  Been on vacation for a week now, and have another week free.  Yeah, there's that work thing, lol.  In 2022 I plan to take more time off.  Can't keep going like this without a break, and the company sure isn't giving out extra credit.

But in all that time, I got myself an M1 iPad and have an M1 MacBookPro on order.  So it's good to hear about DAZ Studio supporting M1 Mac.  Although I probably will keep using Windows 10 for the foreseeable future anyway.

Back in the 1st half of 2021, I got a new washer and dryer.  The washer actually allows for a prewash cycle and also lets me select added rinse cycles.  So it could take 2.5 hours to wash a really dirty load, but I know it's clean, sanitized, fully flushed of all soap, and nearly dry from the high speed spin cycles.

Well, it's 80 F outside.  Maybe I'll go mow the lawn while the laundry sloshes about.  Either that or get a few more loads ready for washing. angel

It's 15F (-9.5C) here and even if one wanted to mow the lawn, one would have to use the shovel to find the mower first... I'm envious.

...yeah, Packers have a very sorry defence when it comes to the ground game  Most of the big plays for the Browns were rushing plays.

Glad it didn't happen as we need that off week to get the defense all on the same page to do their job and Rodgers' toe to heal (it was stepped on twice during the game).  Given the consensus that this very well may be his last season at Green Bay, we need to make it to and win the big game as afterwards we'll be lucky to make the playoffs for a long time as it will be a repeat of the old "Packers 70s Show".

Even though Cleveland is my team I'm not that upset cause Green Bay is my second. I'm really hoping they make it to the Superbowl this year.

..yeah the Browns used to be in the old NFL before the two leagues finally merged operations in 1970. I still remember those games when Cleveland played Green Bay (one year for the NFL Championship and which the Brows won) and got to see the legendary Jim Brown.

Back when Carolina and Jacksonville were brought into the league, there was an unofficial  poll on the topic of "how would you re-align the divisions" circulating around.  My selection was to put Green Bay, Chicago, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh (which also was in the original NFL) in the same division as we all played outdoors, and give the two dome teams (Minnesota and Detroit) to the AFC.  It would have been like old times again.

My pick for the Superbowl:  Kansas City and Green Bay (who met in the first ever NFL - AFL World Championship. that became known as Superbowl I.

  • frank0314frank0314 Posts: 14,264

That would be a kick butt division and super competitive
