Monday morning.. sipping coffee and eating a tamale and chicken wings for breakfast. HOT HOT HOTTTTTTTT~ :bug:

Supposed to hit 78F today, then 50F on Wednesday, the back to 68F on Friday. :blank: Rain comig, too! Cool raim, though, no temps below 40F all week! :)

Windows 10 soon, I guess. Can't.... wait... :smirk: :blank:

    *gnaw gnaw gnaw*

We have Windows 8.1 on the laptop. The laptop replaced both Diane's desktop and our old laptop, both of which had XP and I didn't want to risk them being hacked or otherwise compromised. It came with 8.0, but then we got the update to 8.1. It's really not bad if you use it in desktop mode. That add-on, StartMenuX, really helps, too. I'd go batty trying to use it if it only had the tiles mode.

I actually have a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard for my Win8.1 system, it's meant as an emergency laptop replacement in case Something Very Bad(tm) happens to my laptop. :bug: I'm hoping Win10 takes care of a few flakinesses on my main machine... bt it might be bad enough to have to reformat/re-install or just flat-out replace the thing. I'm saving up to replace it at this point...

I just updated my desktop to Windows 7 Pro last year (and added 4 Gigs to bring it up to 8 Gigs of RAM). I'm not sure I want to do the upgrade to Windows 10 or not. It's running pretty nice right now. I'll have to see how things go with Windows 10, let the dust settle, before I consider it. It will be free for a year after release, so that should be enough time to hear if it's good or not.

..price for the 24 GB tri channel memory kit I am looking at just dropped to under 220$ (DDR31333Mhz which is compatible with my MB). Still need Win 7 pro though to use it all and that ain't coming down in price..

My wife (Diane) just called. Her best friend Anita passed away today. She's pretty shaken up. She's been in the hospital for over a week, pneumonia. I was actually afraid this might happen, but hoped for the best. Diane has had enough on her mind lately.

    That's my complaint.

    Dana

...oy. condolences, and hugz for her .

...ugh seem to becoming down with a bug again (not the computer kind). Sore throat and congestion me awake a good part of the night., didn't roll out of bed until 11:00 this morning. Big bowl of hot rolled oats helped a bit, soup for lunch .maybe a spicy teryaki for dinner.

Made my one big MM purchase for the year. Since Stefan didn't release Urban Sprawl 3 opted for Dogz's Old Railway set (The Old Railway, The Old Railway Station, The Old Railway Thumper) . After applying the remainder of the store credit I had and the 6$ PC PA coupon got all three for only 16$ + change. Perfect for the UK portion of the story.

Watched some vids on You Tube to see why the train is called a "thumper". Actually pretty cool. Even though the last ones went out of service about ten years ago I'll still have them in the story.

just saw the bus on the other side of the road.

nothing to do other than wait for it to come back. listening to music while waiting. my phone does not have the storage space to download music so streaming it. the online playlist is set too small in my opinion. doing shuffle on all my music and hoping not to get the white noise sleepyville songs.

Well, it seems the birds think it's Spring, anyway. The Common Grackles, Brown-Headed Cowbirds, and Red-Winged Blackbirds have returned.

the flutterby cookie is softer in the middle, and the icing is thick and softer than it looks, teeth sinks in it
the magic of spring in every bite.

I have to wait until I know for sure I won't be checked on in order to eat it. I do not want to be caught eating the cookie in my room specially when I only have one cookie and not another to use as a bribe.

edit: here are photos of the cookie to prove I have not eaten it yet.
