Yea, unfortunately I'm broke. I wish I had gotten Ninive 6 Pro Pack, instead of the three G3F pro packs I did get. I'ts just to new, with to much grief to work with. G3F launched the month I was going to get Ninive 6, the rest has been endless torture and grief.

in the mean time, the obstructed text is... just encase.

    It's doing it again...

It is a layout problem. The .wrapper is set to height=100% taking that out and it drops to the bottom of the page. Leaving it in and the .wrapper defaults on my screen to 397 pixels which the footer thinks is the bottom of the page.

yea, that's a glitch with the bar set to a location, based on page width or something. I've seen it before on other 'fledgling' java/flash based sites.

A better solution, would to be to set up a 'table' at 100% width of the page with 1 box width, and two boxes height. place the stuff for the bar in the lower one (cell), and set a 'frame' in the upper one (cell) for the product stuff. Or something akin to that. It's basic simple HTML, and it works. Sometimes KISS is far better then the flashy new scripts for everything that dose not need it at all.

    (EDIT)

Oh, and you can set the "border width", and 'padding' for the table and cells to zero, making it an incredibly powerful invisible tool for making page layouts. Especially for static stuff at the bottom of a page.

Honestly, I haven't a clue about raw HTML code, I've just fussed with something called "Nvu", lol.

I haven't used tables and frames for a website in years, it is all divs now smiley I know what you mean though, get an image or div set to even 1 pixel out and it wont layout properly especially using 'relative' as relative can end up being the header and not the wrapper. Had loads of trouble on my website when I changed it over sad Every browser on the planet seemed to read the code differently and just laid it out hew it felt like it, especially IE surprise

  • Fishtales, I missed your former post by a few minutes, oops, lol.

I fussed with that odd scripted stuff about fifteen years ago, and found the humble 'table' to be far better for my needs. I have no need for Java, Perl, flash (not even animated gifs, lol) on my site. Of course, there is no store, or forum there. Different types of sites do have different needs.

LOL ! That was a really bad example - the post in question just happened to be the first post on page 5 (the last page) of that thread, which is where any old-style link of that format, to any post in that thread, now ends up  - try these:

Previous forum style link (doesn't work - goes to top of page 5) - http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/23706/P105/#657602

New forum style link (works - goes to 7Aug14 post) - http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/657602/#Comment_657602

Regarding ZarconDeeGrissom's example links the old style one's take me to the top's of pages 3/4 respectively, while the new-style ones take me to the correct posts on pages 3/4 respectively.

    (I'm using Firefox 40.0.2)

    A beter example would be the thread for my test chamber. I had links that lead directly to the post with the maps in it, now they don't work. For example;

    The "Tile01002spec1" Specular Map [ CC0 (Public Domain) ].
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/685452/
The "Hematite2" diffuse map floor tile [ CC0 (Public Domain) ].
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewreply/685503/

Hmmm. The actual posts are near the bottom of the page, somewhere, lol.

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/685452/#Comment_685452

    and the 'Hematite2'

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/685503/#Comment_685503

So yea, it's been rather discuraging to consider how to fix that entire texture map thread mess, lol.

Those links work for me just fine.  I don't understand your comment.  Am I the only one?

    Dana

As well as Firefox 40.0.2 I just tried in IE9  - same result as with FF, old-style links go to the tops of pages 3/4, new ones go to the correct posts on pages 3/4

(also tried with IE11 on a different computer.Exactly the same)

Exactly, the top of the page, is not "the exact post", lol. My maps thread is a good example, as I think I have at least four versions of the floor tiles, possibly more (I don't remember, lol).

At the very least, the old links no longer just give a 404, lol.

Firefox 40.0.2 whatever it is for win7 64bit. Also Firefox "40.0" ??? on Ubuntu Mate 15.04 (Raspberry Pi2). Same exact results, tho I'm not that surprised (it's firefox on both). oh, and I'm not exactly thrilled by the lack of performance of the Pi2, it's just a toy (incapable is an understatement, lol).

I didn't mind  having to relog in once a week, but now it's just went twice a day.

it was just a few days ago it started where I needed to sign in due to the Sigh out happening when I come here for the first time in the day. I read other's having this issue, but it really wasn't that bad for me to lately,

from what I can tell, if I close my browser, and turn off my machine,  The next time I turn on my machine and open browser I get the signing out.  This does not happen that way every time, it's just one of the things I have noticed, coincidence only ? maybe

The 'Messages' option from the drop-down at the very very top-right (i.e only when you're scrolled to the very top of the page) of every page has an 'Inbox' that is completely empty.

The 'Inbox' from the little-coggy drop-down at the top-right of every forum page (it's in the fixed header so it doesn't matter where you're scrolled to) isn't empty. It contains all the PMs I've received.

    Two questions:

    1) What is the purpose of the first Inbox - the one you get to via the 'Messages' option from the drop-down at the very very top-right of every page ?

    2) Where are the PMs I've sent stored ?

The Messages from the store side are messagies from DAZ 3D.

The Inbox from the forum side are threaded conversations, including both the ones you sent and the ones you received.

    Got it, thanks.

So sent PMs are in my INBOX now ?

Makes as much sense as anything else nowadays I guess...

Turning off your machine doesn't trigger it.  My machine remains running for days due to a long render, but the "keep me logged in" still doesn't work and I must log in over and over.

Agree that this new white and blue theme for the forums and store is soo hard on the eyes! Where is the dark theme? Please bring it back DAZ!

The shop's just the same. It looks awful. As for having to squint at yellow text on a pale background, that and trying to make out what tiny thumbnail images are showing... whatever's driving the recent forum makeover, it sure isn't concern for the user.

GAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm blind, and does anyone else think the new logo looks like it was designed in the 70s by a hippie on an acid trip?

Scale = 150% on that guy...then maybe we can find him.

I agree with RAMWolff and others - please restore the gray colour scheme option! So much easier on my tired old eyes

The blue is not that bad, but all that white really hurts the eyes :(

I thought I had done something to change it too. I prefer to work with a dark background as it helps with colour perception when working on images. Getting white thrown at you changes that.
