I thought I had done something to change it too. I prefer to work with a dark background as it helps with colour perception when working on images. Getting white thrown at you changes that.

The dark theme appears to have departed this computery world, alas. There's no choice to change it anywhere that I could find.

And, of course, they didn't tell anyone that this was coming.

The new logo is definitely ... different. Yes. Quite.

  • The color of the font on the forum pages is not exactly black, until you hover over the topic. I am totally straining my eyes here.

The new look seems fine to me.  Maybe I'm just different.  Although I wonder why looks keep changing.

Sigh............ I'm glad it wasn't just me then.  I had to exit and try the place on the new browser for Windows (Edge) same thing.  Not sure what happened.  It was instantaeous though, I was pissed because a thread I was subscribed to was showing 17 new posts and I realized I had once again been kinda sorta unsubscribed (even though the star was ON indicating was subscribed but not getting any notifications) so I was like going to page three of the new posts and BAM, glaring white.  I thought "OMG what happened?" and yea, went to the store, same thing... Edge, same thing... this is pretty yukky.  I really hope they get that dark theme plugged back in.

I do agree too, that new logo is kinda funny. Like I need to eat a magic brownie to truly enjoy it's brilliance!  cheeky

here's what I'm seeing, it's just a narrow bar here.  Something isn't working right for you it appears.

  • may be a script on the server that sends out different HTML to different browsers.

Firefox 40.0.2 here, and it's a thin bar.

They are obviously doing some work on the website then if all the browsers are showing the site weirdly.  I do notice on my drop down options menu (upper right, where the blue man used to be, which is now on the upper column and smaller) there are more options showing too.  I guess give them time... I really miss my dark theme though!  crying

To get a dark theme, couldnt we use that recolor thing? I recall using that before? Or won't that work now? Has anyone tried it? Was a plugin on Firefox or something wasnt it? I just vaguely recall using it before LOL

Like forcing fonts, it dose it to all websites. so not a good option for some that only need that done to a single site.

Woo, freaky colours and smaller text! I'll get used to it! LOL!

    CHEERS!

Just got an email from DAZ.. they have a "New Face" and have released the muscle morphs and a few other goodies for V7...... so it's DAZ's New Face.... frown

Agreed, the text size is much better. now I just need to be able to copy and past text in firefox, the forum's spell check truly is lacking.

To be honest, why should we? This is a hideously bad design choice for anyone who was using (or who needed, for medical reasons, to use) the old dark theme. Every other forum I use on the entire internet has colour choices built in — why can DAZ never get this right?

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,249

Oh, well that's a nice surprise, they allow copy paste here on the forums again!  YAY!

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,249

Ooops, guess now... I guess I was just copying from the posted text, that's allowed.  So it's back to ctrl x, c and v again.  It's OK... I'm kinda used to it..

I didn't clock the new logo. Now that all the G3F morphs are 50% off I'll go and stock up. I quite like the new look actually.

    CHEERS!

Sorry, was just a thought. I understand the "need" for a dark scheme though in general lots of larger sites don't have them (not even on their forums) I have a lazy eye which causes my good eye to allow in too much light which means for me "bright white" is actually blinding and painful so I do understand. That said doing every site change times two may be an issue for DAZ so I was just trying to think if there was a way to alleviate the issue and someone do a dark recolor and share it as I think that was what we did before when there was only one color scheme (which looking there seems to be now)

There is an addon for firefox called stylish that lets you change the look of websites on just your PC.It even has a couple older presets for daz sites :)

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/stylish/

    maybe this can help

Maybe it was Color That Site?

    JINX!!! hehehe

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,249

Yea, it's called "Color That Site"  I did a bunch of work recoloring the last site, which Richard H was kind enough to post my links to the themes I had uploaded but now that's gotta be redone for this site.  Not sure how much time that's going to take as each site has a different template.  It is a very good script as it is site independent so you don't have to worry about your color options bleeding over to Amazon or where ever...

  • DAZ_ann0314DAZ_ann0314 Posts: 2,861

I knew I recalled someone sharing one last time or maybe a couple people even. Maybe someone else will do one this time for everyone :) I can't use them sadly as I need to see the site as it is but for others that were using the dark theme it'd be a huge help :)

It's been updated quite a bit so I'll check it out when I get a minute.  I'm still busy trying to get my product for Dawn finished up so busy with making mats and promo renders.. fun fun fun....

  • I don't suppose there is any way to make the forum text larger? I'm extremely nearsighted and even with my glasses I'm having to sit closer to the screen than normal. Also this white is too damn bright. But i'll live with that if I can make the text bigger.

Most browsers have an independent zoom function.  If your using Firefox or one of it's counterparts like Cyberfox or Waterfox there is a zoom option under the side menu to the right.  Usually I keep it at about 130%, which is good for my eyes!  If your using IE or Edge I think 150% is about right.
