How do I view my old posts?

click on the name below your Avatar, that takes you to your profile.   There is a gear icon, click that and you get a drop down list of the things that you can do there.

How do I view my old posts?

Click the gear icon in the upper right corner of the forums, then select "Recent Discussions" or maybe "My Discussions".

Sorry Sean, that one  "Recent Discussions" is for New posts to all the forums, and "My Discussions" is only for threads that the person actually started.

Oops, sorry, thanks for the correction.

Select the gear and select your name. On that page select the gear again and select Your Posts

  • AFAIK, if you change your sig it changes on all your posts, not just on posts made after you change it.

I'll re-explain.  Some forums (and maybe the old one, I think?) allowed a checkbox (when typing a post) to show signature.  Sig would not show unless you check the box when making a post, and then would only show for that specific post and not for all posts.

I want this feature back because I think signatures can be cluttery.  I have never felt comfortable putting some banner at the bottom of every post of mine or somebody else's famous quote or some unattributable but usually obvious witticism in a signature because it feels like I'm beating the person reading my thread over the head with Edmund Burke, Della Reese, Shakespear, or Albert Einstein when the probably already know the quotes (I don't consider my fellow forumers to be uneducated), and/or might not care or agree with those people.

So I keep to my hardware list only and maybe a comment in red for DAZ to fix Carrara's UI (but now with Shade 3D I think it doesn't matter anymore).  Even so, I don't want to force people to re-read my hardware list everytime they see a post from me.  So I just want to keep hardware information in my signature and check the box when we have a thread where I need to share information about my hardware, like if somebody is helping me, or if I am helping somebody else, or we are arguing about OpenGL vs. OpenCL vs. CUDA cores, or if we are lamenting the death of Bryce or Hex...

Am I wrong...did we never have the signature checkbox feature?

I honestly cannot remember ever having a feature like that on these forums,

I've been her for 10 years or a bit less - and I don't remember a checkbox. Showing my age a bit, but I'd almost like to go back to pre-hysteric times (BBS days) and only show a tag line if it comes in with the post - and keep it as part of that post only. The ability to add a tag line appropriate (or massively inappropriate) to a particular post made for interesting reading back in the day.

It would appear that the forced logout loop thingy is in some way tied to a PC, rather than to the DAZ account itself:  I was logged in on one PC using the forums, then tried going to the forums on a second PC which then triggered the logout loop.  However, the first PC never lost the connection and remained logged in, and I could still go to other forums, even though the same account on the 2nd PC indicated I was logged out and I had to log in again there, being logged out did not actually log my user out of the other PC, it only affected that one PC.

So far so good for couple of days it keep me in , I tried on 3 devices without problem.. it have to do with the codes and not an account , it may not read the cookies correctly sometimes and log you off or in , in a loop

Hmm.  Ok, so I followed one email link to the forums, which worked. I purchased some freebies, probably took a minute.  I then followed the next email link, which took me instead to my account page.  I then went to my Commons bookmark, and got the "signing in" message at that point.  No signout loop this time, no overnight, no new session.

  • MEC4DMEC4D Posts: 5,249

I am getting sign in message everyday .. but not loop like before no matter from the store or from e-mail link so I guess something got fixed .. the sign in loops before was really anoying you can't even navigate the browser after unless you close everything ..  thumbs up for the improvements !

Is it worth our time bothering to put in support tickets any more?

There's been no change to the overall appearance of the store and forums, apart from a handful of minor tweaks.

There's been no meaningful feedback on the support tickets; since the original ridiculous, unhelpful, and frankly, insulting reply, I've had two brief notes that my concerns were passed on to the web developers. This was all on the first day I opened the ticket. Four days a week ago.

Who else has opened support tickets? Have you had any better luck getting any sort of answers — or, even better, action?

I'm getting fed up with all this.

    OK,

I go to look at the Galleries.  First time with the new site, this is what I get.

I guess you are using IE.   This has been reported, now that it has been  seen to be a glitch that apparently only affects IE users..

It looks like the spy glass ping isn't being parsed right or resized properly.

I got the same kind of answer, "sorry for the inconvenience, we'll pass the feedback to the dev team". But honestly I'd be quite surprised if they did anything about it...

Didn't you get the "with the new logo design, it was best to leave the website design on the white background" gibberish? That's what has be so becroggled — every instance of the logo I've seen so far on the entire DAZ website, it's been on a dark background.

Two "knock, knock, anyone there?" notes on my support ticket unreplied to so far. Extremely dischuffed, here.  angry

The forums started doing the loopy "signing out - signing in" thing again when going between threads... Seems very random.

  • RogerbeeRogerbee Posts: 4,460

Yeah, just got caught with that, I so hope someone is working on it!

    CHEERS!

  • srieschsriesch Posts: 4,241

So after I visit a forum and I get signed out, then sign in again, and the email link doens't work until you visit a bookmarked forum... sometimes the "signing in" that appears when visiting the bookmarked forum doesn't happen, and I have to click the bookmarked forum again before the previous sign-in gets recognized, printed to the display, then allows you to start using your email links again.  I'm not sure if it just didn't take the first time, or if after visiting a bookmark you have to wait a few seconds for it to start working before leaving the page again?

I saw something else odd just now too.  I went to a thread I had posted in, and noticed that my attached image was completely missing.  (not the broken link icon, there simply wasn't any attachment being displayed).  So I edited the post, where I saw my attachment sitting there along with my text, then attached it and updated the post, which then gave me two images.  (deleted one again.)  so it seems the attached image was somewhere in the system... just not visible to me when viewing the forum.

Oh, yes, I got a "with the new logo the dev team thought it was better with the white background" too.

Ooh, I just noticed a neat feature.  I had both PCs running, and was halfway through typing up a post before realizing I was going to attach a screenshot that was on the other PC.  I went to the other PC to locate the file and send it to the first PC so I could attach it, then realized that my half-typed post had autosaved and was now visible on the 2nd PC!  Attach, finish, post, no need to transfer files between PCs.  Not that that's really a big deal, but it was pretty handy.

Sometimes attached pictures show up, sometimes they are invisible.  Saw this before on my own thread and thought it was an editing thing at first, but now I see it in somebody elses.  But the very interesting part is the picture visiblity is dependent on whether you visit the forum via email link ,or visit a different way.

.  If you view the first post from this link (from within the forums), you can see the attached pictures: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/62153/a-question-about-sav-hair#latest

.  If you view the same thread via this link (from the email subscription) instead and scroll up to the 1st post, the pictures in post 1 are invisible: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/898546#Comment_898546

    why would this be?

    why would this be?

Those appear to be two different threads...and neither one that I landed on had images other than the avatrs and signatures.  ???

What threads do those links take you to?  Both take me to different places within the same thread entitled "A question about SAV Hair..".  (remember to scroll up.)  One link should be for a specific comment within the thread, the other link should be for the latest link within the same thread.

Oh, I see it now.  It's been a bad week, lots of stress.  It is odd that they display differently.  I had to scroll all the way up to see the post you were referencing...both time.

Hope I didn't miss this info somewhere, but why would an attached image thumbnail not have a link to the original image to click on? There's no way to view the image. What makes this happen? I haven't attached an image in a long time so I'm sure I must be missing some subtlety somehow?

if you have a URL to the image then use the add image icon and paste the url to it. If you don't have one then post the image as an attachment. You can then click on that attachment and view it and get the url from there
