I'm using the beta that came out on 12/8. I haven't seen one later than that.
I am still using the beta, that I have installed 3rd of December,
so yours is the newer one, that I see in DIM.
Yes, it corrected some of the issues I was having from the 12/3 version. I haven't tried it on Genesis 8 yet. For me the 12/3 version had asymmetrical issues for the left and right sides of the face. The left side seemed to rotate on the Z axis no matter what face I was doing. The 12/8 version fixed that. Now we just need to fix the head scrunching, the ears, and under the jaw. I may have to go back to Genesis 8 and then transfer to Genesis 9.
A minor character from my story series:
Vastly improved from FT1 but still some Photoshop work to be done with side-of-face stretches and stains:
ETA: Oops - just spotting it now. The shadow around his nose is caused by a lighting choice I made here. I should've fixed this or picked a better lighting situation.
Is this Genesis 8 or Genesis 9?
Everything I've posted in this thread is FT2/G9.
Apologies. I'm playing catch up in this thread and haven't scrolled back thru all of the pages yet. Yours still looks better than mine.
Very nice character, PaulaWP.
Thanks for the explanation. Now I am even more tempted to upgrade Daz Studio beta on my computer.
Just one more render from my current version of Daz Studio,
less wrinkles this time.
It was also a good opportunity to use different hairs from my library,
like this one converted to Genesis 9:

I have updated Daz Studio beta on my computer and now it crashes every time
I want to save Face Transfer 2 character, so bye bye to new characters.
Have fun, I am out, until maybe next version will fix the crashes.
How are people's eyelid textures looking?
ing?
I've always had to clean them up, no matter what program I use to get the face shape. Shame that you can't find images where people have their eyes closed. LOL
On launch, or at a later point? Any errors or crash reports? Anything in the log?
The Auto, Genesis 8, and Genesis 9 settings are discussed here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/8484761/#Comment_8484761 (and in the change log)
Back up the isntallers, but if you don't try the new beta you won't be able to find any issues thata ffect you - and that others might miss.
Thanks, Richard, for great tips.
I have updated the Nvidia drivers in hope that it can help,
but still got Daz Studio beta crash if I attempt to save Face Transfer 2 characters.
Have uninstalled this new version and go back to 4.22.0.7.
Ok, I am back. I am glad that I have saved the previous version of Daz Studio beta.
Below is a render of Genesis 9 character created with Face Transfer 2.
I really like this plugin and I would miss it a lot, if I could not use it on my computer.
and no error messages or other information?
Question: When you guys do the transfer, is it on the Genesis 9 main version (eyes, mouth, eyelashes, etc) or on the Developer Kit version? I was playing around with the developer kit version and added the eyes after a transfer. I wasn't planning on keeping the transfer so I zeroed everything out and used a different image. Turned out better. Not as much wonkiness as before. Maybe I'm missing something here?
Out of habit, I load the stock figure (not the Dev load one), select it and apply FT to it - that's what I've been doing all this time to use FT1 with G8.1 instead of G8. For this last one I posted earlier today, I just let FT2 create a figure. (On initial glance, it appears that the main difference is that FT2 politely puts clothes on the figure when it adds a figure itself.) All that said, I had never tried applying a FT shape to the dev figure so I gave that a try. It appears that you get the shape and textures on a figure with no eyes, mouth, etc. What wonkiness are you seeing?
One I haven't tried before:
Hi Richard,
I got 3 crash reports and also saved error messages from the log,
that I have to analyze.
I was too tired yesterday and only want to confirm
that the previous version of Daz Studio beta still works on my computer.
Is there any thread in Daz 3D forums, that I can post my findings
about the crash of Daz Studio beta?
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/601796/daz-studio-pro-beta-version-4-22-0-10-updated#latest
The wonkiness that I was referring to was the issues I was having at the beginning about the face being scrunched, the pointed head and the weird ears. I tried loading a full figure and running the plugin. Looked great, but when it came to saving it, DAZ crashed. Probably because I had uninstalled and reinstalled the BETA. I was trying to get the downloaded zip so that I could install the BETA on a different machine and couldn't find the zip. There were probably some support files that I neglected to install. I may try on the office laptop later today and see if I have the same issues. I did get an error report from one of the crashes. I'll have to go thru it and see what it says. Maybe there will be something useful.
Thanks for the link, Richard.
Face Transfer 2 generates a face, but craches when trying to save.
It should also have included a side profile for greater accuracy, without having to rely on third-party morphs to correct the depth imperfection that this plugin cannot accurately reproduce.
It's still crashing on me. Tried it on my work laptop and still crashes. Wish I could roll back to .07 but I don't think I have the zip anymore. So I'm stuck til the next update. I may just have to save the morph and then move the texture folder to somewhere permanent in the meantime.
The crash issue has been identified and should be ffixed in a build to be released fairly soon.
