Thanks a lot for the comments and the tips, tsroemi.
Another creation with Face Transfer 2 and with various morphs, I have available for Genesis 9
to improve shape around mouth and chin.
So it's creating normal / heught / and various shine / oil / translucency maps? That character is quite good!
Thanks, nonesuch00.
I like this character very much and makes me want to continue exploring more of Face Transfer 2 creations.
I really like Face Transfer 2 but as you can see if any shadows on lips, eyebrows you can get this. HD photos with neutral face a must (even lighting)
Face Transfer 2 shape and FT2 Base/Diffuse.
This is one strictly for the lulz ... also does illustrate the use of morphs and a fairly extreme expression. This is Face Transfer 2 (from a source image of an older male) + varying amounts of multiple "elder" shapes and Cliff for Thimor. On top of that is a couple of JW Exaggerated Expressions. It's using the base/diffuse created by FT2.
Nice creations, please keep'em coming.
Another creation made with the Face Transfer 2.
Then the look from the different angle.
Just wonder, have you change the body morphs on the characters created with Face Transfer 2?
Sure. Just that last one alone ("Angry Santa") had differing amounts of Zack 9 Elder, Julius 9 Elder, Nikolai 9 and Cliff Head and Cliff Body. Aside from one-off test renders, I don't use commercial characters in whole - I buy character bundles for the other stuff in them, and for the shapes, skins and other features (eyes, facial hair) that come with characters.
"Angry Santa" - side view, minus Zack Elder. (As a sidenote - completely unrelated to Face Transfer 2 or 4.22, as I confirmed the behavior on Zack 9 HD in my production 4.21 Daz - there's a bug with the Zack elder shape that makes itself obvious in this side view.)
The original FT2 character with only Base Masculine shaping added:
Ok, thanks for the tips.
Will need to find out, if there exist some corellation between head shape
and shape of the rest of the body, or can I mix them freely.
Mix away. It's just a normal G9 figure with the FT face/head shape.
This is the dark-haired girl from above, aged down to tweens or early teens. This one uses Time Machine, and the Shaping includes only that, Base Feminine and the Face Transfer 2 shape, and a little bit of initial twiddling with her ear. FT2 seems to slightly deform some ears - haven't run into that before so I don't have a slick 'n quick process for fixing that yet.
I really like when details on the face created with Face Transfer 2 just pop up.
Another face with great details, here with Biker hair converted to Genesis 9.
care to share what morph did you use and what product(morph product) to get a more realistic lips and chin as you said?
Also guys any guide on installing face transfer 2? I purchased face transfer 2 but I am not sure how to install it. I have daz 4.22 installed via dim. Been using daz for very long. I searched in DIM for face transfer but nothing in there. When I use face transfer in daz using a picture, it uses genesis 8. I want to use it on genesis 9. Any help appreciated
It is included with the current Public Build (Beta) (4.22.0.9), not the General Release (4.22.0.1) - if you have purchased it all you need to do is enter the serial number in Help>About Installed Plugins and then restart Daz Studio to get the unlimited version.
Another one ... had a go at trying my story series' main character. Just FT2 and Base Feminine here, and I've used both the diffuse and SSS mat files supplied by FT2.
(Added source file, from Artbreeder)
thank you, i managed to get it working, in the public build beta like you suggested. However I am getting this error "Failed to load genesis figure. Could not locate a male genesis file:data/Daz 3D/Genesis 9 Starter Essentials/Utilities/Genesis 9 Male With Basic Wear .duf , everytime using face transfer 2 on genesis 9, both female and male, it works on gensis 8 but not on 9. I already have genesis 9 starters 1 and 2 essentials installed.
Ian McShane?
@PerttiA: The reference image was just a random portrait generated by AI.
I have used https://www.daz3d.com/face-transfer-shapes-for-genesis-8
and applied them to Genesis 8 Female and Genesis 8 Male.
Then transferred the morphs to Genesis 9 using https://www.daz3d.com/figure-converter-for-genesis-9
The disadvantage of this method is that it produce a gap between eye and eye socket,
so one need to use some workarounds, for example like described in:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/642546/released-manfriday-s-figure-converter-for-genesis-9-commercial/p5
There are some addiitional files needed, as there is not yet an official release they are here - extract them outside your content directory and select the folder you extract to (or the folder with the zip name, depending on your extraction tool - you want the folder that contains the data folder) as a new daz Studio Format cotnent directory. When the main Genesis 9 Starter Essentials gets updated you can sdimply remove that extra content directory from the list.
Really like, how wrinkles are coming out on the creations made with Face Transfer 2.
Here with the converted hair to Genesis 9:

@Artini - you are doing a great job of demoing its capabilities!
Mine don't seem to look that good. I've been doing mine on Genesis 9. The head seems to get squished down vertically. The ears get misshapen. And the top of the head has a slight egghead point to it. And under the chin is practically non-existent. My current fix is to flatten the top of the head and I've transferred the FTS long face morph to Genesis 9 to stretch the face out. And I've also used morphs for under the jaw line to tight it up some. I'd be curious to see what your procedure is to get yours to look so good. I did notice the interface now has a selection of Automatic, Genesis 9, and Genesis 8. I chose Genesis 9, because that was the figure I had in the scene. Should I have done Automatic instead?
Thanks a lot for the comments.
Face Transfer 2 is my go to place in Daz Studio, whenever I have a free time.
@GRFK DSGN Unlimited:
My procedure is just testing a lot of reference images
and choosing the ones, that gives satisfactory results in my eyes.
What I post here, there are a small collection of the trials, I have tested.
All my recent posts are made without any Genesis figure in the scene,
so Face Transfer 2 creates Genesis 9 automatically.
I only choose Female or Male.
I have noticed, that there is some update to Daz Studio Beta in DIM.
I am a bit afraid, if that update does not make something worse with Face Transfer 2.
Probably curiosity will make me push to install it anyway.
