After you put the category names in the comments, go down to the bottom of the page, and click the big blue "Update wishlist labels" button (just above the page numbers). Do this on every page (or just list all your wishlist items on one single page, and do it once there). When you make changes, remember to click this button again.

When this is done, reload the wishlist page, and you'll see the new filter:
I may have mentioned this before but it would be really great to be able to sort the items already owned by purchase date or otherwise identify those items now on sale that were purchased within the last 30 days.
So now i have successfully created an account and made some settings and saved them, but there are a few things i do not understand fully:
This may be questions others have already posted, but i can't read 57 sites here. I am not a born english speaker anyway.
- how can this tool load and show my wishlist? There is no connect between the tool and the daz-site i think
- what are hidden items and why should i hide items and how?
- i did the configuration on my browser at work. What have i to do on my browser at home? I think installing the plugin and calling the site link of the configuration?
Thanks
That data is only in your product library, which is very painful to get one-by-one for the sorting order. The product library itself could theoretically display the sale price, but you still have no way of knowing how much you actually paid for, that's only in your confirmation email. The online version of the order does not contain the actual price you paid.
It doesn't show your wishlist. That is still shown in your Daz account, like before. You continue to use the same wishlist as before, but you'll have the extra features there. (And on the other Daz pages.)
Hidden items are items you don't want to see, and don't want to get notifications for. Items you are sure you will never buy. For example, if you buy the pro bundle of a character, then it's certain that you will not want to later buy the starter bundle of the same character. You can hide that so you don't accidentally purchase it, and then have to write to customer support to get your money back.
You should probably use the same settings, except for the "hide items" feature, which is per browser, and will be different on your two computers. Tick the "This is my main browser" only on the browser that you will be using the most, and will be hiding the majority of items on. Definitely use the same email/passcode pair. No need to sign up again. (If you signed up for the notifications, which I recommend. You can use the addon without signing up, but then you lose a lot of extra functionality.)
I think you may have misunderstood. I'm not looking for the price. Just when I have a lot of items shown by checking the "Items I already own" box it would be very helpful to know which of those items I purchased in the last 30 days so I know which ones to look up in my product library and confirmation emails. Or did you mean that identifying the purchase dates may not be readily feasible?
I can't imagine this as an "always-on" feature. Maybe as an extra button that you click on the sales page, that then looks up the purchase date of the shown items. So, for example, you go to the sales page, click "Show what I own," and then click another button that will then start to gather the purchase dates of all shown items, and display them as the data come back. You could then see, say, a number on each item, showing you how many days ago you purchased them. Would something like that do the trick?
Yes, it sure would work great. Or a 'Sort by Purchase date - Recent to earliest' button would also work
That wouldn't work. Looking up the purchase dates of all of your items on the fly would put an insane load on the Daz servers, and you probably wouldn't have the patience to wait for it to finish.
Just to easily find things that are at as low a price as they're likely to be anytime soon.
...Because I'm an addict?
(Slightly) More seriously, there are so many products and artists out there that I'm not in any way shape or form familiar with them all yet. There are also a lot of items I want to buy so I can see how they're made, what they do, and learn how to make something conceptually similar. Also, there are boatloads of things I'm kind of on the fence about, but just knowing they're at a better price than they've been in (a very long time - 6mos-1yr) can be enough to push me over from "I shouldn't really." to "Ah, what the heck. Maybe someday I'll actually have time to make that image this inspired."
Also, the individual notifications code might not be working (Or I might be doing it incorrectly, or my browser might have an issue?)
There are a coule products I want to get for a specific project, but it's not urgent, so, on the product page, I click:
Click to set individual notification
Then it changes to:
Enable Wishlist notifications in the Daz-Deals extension, and sign up to be able to set an individual notification for this item. Click here.
I click that, it goes to the wishlist page, and there was the sign up for notifications link - I click that, it goes to the settings, my notification settings are there, but there's nothing under specific notifications list (which is tabbed with the "hide" list, right?)
So, maybe it's set, but there's not a list I can see? Or maybe they're not setting properly. Or maybe it takes a while to show up because it has to sync with the servers or something?
There are notifications for that already. The "Best prices" notifications are just that. You get an email of the items that are at their best prices in, say a year. Or half a year. In your wishlist notification, the email also indicates that the item is at its lowest price in X months (if it is).
What would you like to do that these notifications do not accomplish?
On the options page, click the "Email notifications" tab, and enter the email address you used to sign up for the notifications (if you have not signed up yet, there's also a link to it so you can do so now), and the passcode that you received. This is the passcode that the notification server sent you. This is NOT your Daz login data. Never give us your Daz login data!
Your email affiliate link doesn't work for me today. It says this site can't be found. But I can open daz3d.com and the store page fine from other links.
edit spelling.
Hmm, I just clicked on one of the items in today's top21 discounted items email, and it went to the item in question without a problem. I am using Google's DNS service (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4). Maybe a trouble with your DNS service provider?
I used the link to the newest sale in the "New DAZ promo" email. I don't know how to check what DNS provider I use.
Edit: other links in the same email work. Did Daz change the URL for the Massive or small as a bug sale?
Okay, I see what you mean. That one link is different from how Daz usually links pages. Probably a one-time glitch. If not, I'll adapt the emails.
View These Artists Together is now completely broken. The best way is to copy the URL of one PA and remove the hashtag part
For example
https://www.daz3d.com/clay-in-your-hands-artist-items#&filter_vendor=Colm Jackson&filtered=1 replaced by
https://www.daz3d.com/clay-in-your-hands-artist-items
The Snooze and reset option link in the emails, seems to work (it goes to a page), but when I check the item afterwards, there is no price set. I probably snooze around 75 items before I figured that out, which means, of course they are no longer on my notice now. I have Waterfox (Firefox 64 emulator).
Still no love for Edge?
Dana
Only from Microsoft... ;)
Convenience - going from the email is a lot more right clicking and doesnt go within a given sub-category, like things on sale by X, Y, or Z artist.
DAZ is very tricksey with discounts dn stacked discounts and urgency and all that, to try to get a quick click. "Hey, look! 60% off JoeBlow's selected items, Plus another 20% if you buy two Astounding Attrocities, but not 70&%, 50% plus 20% of the remaining 40%, also called 8%, but not as exciting as if you say "another 20%"!! Buy Now!!"
Then you have to look at each individual item to see if that's all really a good price for that item, or if it's fairly regularly on sale for 5% less than that...
Never mind. Not a big deal. Just an idea.
I'm not sure where we're going there - I already get email notifications, I have since I first installed the plugin and set them up. It's just the product specific notifications that aren't working - well, weren't. I havent tried one in the few intervening days. I thought those would be a specific email if that particular item went on sale (as opposed to the notifications of everything that's on sale, which can be too much to wade through if you're in a hurry.)
I just had one thing I had to buy for a client peice, and wanted to know if it went on sale. It has, and I have it now, I was just saying the notificatin link acted very strange and didn't result in a specific notification.
The sales notification is one thing. The wishlist/individual item notification is another. (And there are even more notifications.) If the price history tells you to enable wishlist notification, that means that your signup data is not entered in the options page of the addon, or not entered correctly. As such, you cannot request a notification for that particular item, since we have no idea where to send that notification. Once those are filled in correctly, you will be able to set notifications for individual items.
Nice find, thank you! This got lost when I recently added another layer of caching to speed things up. Should work fine again.
I wish it would be easier to search to confirm if this has been discussed or not, but has there been re-consideration of adding a Safari extension? I understand that Apple yet again swapped around their extension format. No idea if this makes it easier or harder, but it should be at least worth checking.
That does make sense - but, as I say, I get notifications every day.
You can sign up to a variety of notifications. You may be signed up to the new-sale notifications, but that does not mean that you get wishlist notifications, if your browser extension is not set up to handle that. Click on the addon icon, which takes you to the addon's options page. Click the email notifications tab in the top right part of the page. And make sure that the email address and the correct passcode is entered on this page. If it's not, you can sign up to get one here. If you already have one, you can get it resent to you from here, too.
No, man, I wouldn't lie about this, I swear. I get wishlist notifications... Every day. Really. :)
Unless passcodes expire and I need to replace it, but my email notifications (including wishlist) would still work, or there's a 4th opt-in my browser's not showing, I don't think that's it...
I see. Okay, we've had this issue before. The problem there was with the capitalization of the email address. It needs to be exactly the same as the one you registered with. If you used all lowercase when registering, then enter it as all lowercase on the options page.
Ah...! let me find out how Google considers to be the original format, and I'll fix it right up. Thank you :)
