I keep hoping to see Dynamics Cloth (that users can make - I may break down and get VWD, then of course DAZ would release a new GPU accelerated integrated plugin the next day). Dynamic hair, and full physics (including fluids, smoke, and fire, collisions, etc.).

Of course a Blender bridge, or native support for duf files in blender would be awesome too!

Program to move G2 body morphs to G3. I know there's that GenX, but to make it work, I'd have to buy tons of plugins and stuff that I have zero need, so I was always hoping that one day somebody would make a simple program to trasfer morphs just between G2 and G3. Now that G8 is out, I suppose I'm out of luck. Also not so much as never, since there's been some products, but I really could use more every day poses sets. Like wearing/removing clothes, doing house chores and stuff like that. Most of the pose sets are more like pin up poses, or characters just stand/lie/whatever there flailing their hands in the air, and I just don't get it what they are supposed to be doing.

I second that! Daz/Iray should have a Particle rendering System just like Octane! The volumetric smoke and fire is just so amazing

I'd be happy if all the females I've bought for G8 even had gens mats.    Case in point: Elizabeth, Kiara, Liliana, Rebekah, so far all with NO gen mats.  And countless G3F with no gens mats.  That's just the females.  I can't even think about the guys.  Too depressing.  So yeah, I'd wish for genital mats as a mandatory requirement for ALL make and female characters released here,.

It's too easy to go to the other store to get them, or the naughty store and get them cuz they have a script that will match the skin of your character to the gens.  So Daz needs to catch up to the times, Utah or not.  That's an ongoing 'excuse' for me.  Move to another state like Nevada!

I don't think any store requires vendors to provide them; they do if they want to. Make it mandatory and you risk the vendor leaving if they have no interest in doing them. I know I wouldn't like it, and besides, that also may limit the availability of child characters, which are rare enough as it is.

I agree with Sapat, it should be mandatory as it is an important part of the product, regardless if the vendor/customer uses it or not. IMO if you are an adult character creator and have a problem with reproducing any part of the human body, then you should move on to another form of creating. That is like being a character vendor and having a problem with nude promos, really absurd.

it's a whole new topic but nudity and sex are not the same thing

our new world is an alien one in history

people adult and child were depicted nude throughout the ages in 2D and sculpture without any sexual connotations

it was just the human form

animals too were distinguishable as male or female

sadly society dictates certain mores one must adhere to

if the risk being jailed for depicting nude minors is bad consider the torturous  punishment for things in eras past such as blasphemy etc

we have it pretty free by comparison

so adhering to the accepted conventions of a time  is not a bad thing

it is to be recommended for one's self preservation

I do have the alien dogs... they were strange.  I'm not sure why an alien would have a dog rather than a cat or something truly alien. Even other species on our own planet don't have pets.

Actually, I watched a documentary about groups of primates that would steal pups from packs of wild dogs, then they would care for them and keep them as pets :)

    Very true!

It would be so nice to apply a wind force the blow both hair and cloths. Maybe some day. Unfortunately I worry that these types of features may be seen as too difficult for the average user to learn, and not worth developing because it would make DS too "complex" (like Carrara).

HW3D is working on a dog, the default will be a Golden Retriever, but they've got a Chi morph made already (as well as a Boxer I believe), just needs textures and to be rigged.

Chris always adds heaps of dials so you can get much different looks to the models than just the promo pix. Someone did an alien cat from just dial spins and changing the texture up (and added wings, it was pretty cute).

Hasn't that been in the works for a while now? I' seem to recall seeing the Chi morph last year. I'm hopeful, but I've heard of several pa's making dog.... And I haven't seen one hit the market yet.

Someone has undoubtedly already answered this, but chiming in; the base model for the HW3D dog is not a Golden retriever. It is a Labrador. It, the Boxer morph and the Chihuahua are modeled. Have been for some time. But the rigging expert hasn't got to them yet. And their lead texture expert is already booked solid, so they are looking or another. With a larger staff, they would have already been out.

Agreed, but it's getting old catering to average or less than users becaue they don't want to put in the work. At what point do we put the brakes on for everything being plug and play. I would hate it if features were not considered for DS because DAZ felt it was a bit too complicated for the plug and play crowd. Every app has it's learning curve.

    I don't expect it but:

    Males with attached gens

Not going to happen; the other Utah based 3D content site's male base figure doesn't have them at all when you get him. Mot saying it can't be done, just won't be either of theses stores that do it.

Hair which can be used for different styles, from short,  wet, to growing longer, to ponytail- all essentially the same hair, but with morphs for everyday.

Can be done. Will someone actually do it? Maybe.

Have to disagree there with the male genitals.  I've built my own model before, Pan to be exact, with all his equipment built into the mesh, I then, in ZBrush, carefully smoothed it all out into a "Male bulge" morph afterwards, it can be done.  You end up with allot more geometry in that area but then again you would need that to dial the genitals back when needed for nudes.

Paul is so busy with rigging and they have yet to find a really good texture artist to do the maps for the doggies so not sure when the base will be released. I hope SOMEONE with some made texturing skills comes along soon.  I think Laurie has her plate full with the Hivewire Horse and her support for doing Dusk skins here and there.

Unfortunately I think that is exactly what happened to Carrara. It wasn't nearly as popular as DS, because it has a real leaning curve, so fewer people were interested in it (and of course DAZ didn't help by making their own content work as well as in DS, and providing good staring turorials), and therefore it wasn't as profitable as DS, and has fallen by the wayside. Hopefully, what was mentioned else where in the forums by a DAZ rep about some great things coming to DS in the second half of the year (or something simalr - too lazy to find the actual statement) will be the integration of Nvidia's PhysX, or dynamic hair/cloth and bullet physics. Of course better animation tools/features are needed to (or maybe an upgrade for Carrara to include the capabilty to use the latest content, and a few improvements ...... yep, I have some crazy ideas).

I totally hear you, and understand it is a WIP. But- Unfortunately, I'm getting a bit... Skeptical, so while the pictures are cute, and I hope it gets made, I'm not sure it will ever get done since two pa's have promised dogs and yet none have surfaced.

It concerns me that by the time the animals are made- if they are made, they will look a bit long in the tooth. Hivewire House cat already looks pretty dated to me given the realism of Iray, and I don't use Harry or big cats.

Domestic cat and dog are pretty high on my want list.

Agreed! I wish they would put out word to vendors to solicit for a particular era (Victorian England, Medieval Japan,  Colonial America, etc)  or theme (Superhero, Post apocalyptic, etc)  like 4 times per Year and each time pick a  different theme. Once the theme was chosen, they would have at least three different outfits for each sex (perhaps for different social classes), two settings, and at least three time appropriate props. Additional things like era relevant hair and characters would be awesome but popular eras could be repeated adding additional possibilities for those seeking era relavant content. If it was popular enough, then it would be repeated a few years down the way.

Vendors would benefit from completists wanting the set and interest in something that may not sell well by itself, but with a groupo, the addede value would be great! :)

    Just an idea. :)

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why a smart vendor doesn't capitalize on making one hair with multple bangs to choose from, multiple style for temple, scalp and back with classifications for different style for roughly the same length hair (for character continuity) and sell it. It would be more expensive of course but so worth it!

I've thought about it, but most of the functionality is DirectX only, if I remember correctly.

I apologize for my ignorance, how would that hinder things?
