Do you want to give a few more details on this? I've been playing around with a similar idea for a while, so may be able to put something together.

I'd like to be able to use dim or something similar to 'tag' files by type and generation. I'd also like to tag content that is only for 3delight such as shaders and light sets. Primarily because I don't use those anymore. But the file names of content rarely tells me whether it works for Iray or whether an item is for 3dl . Then I'd want the Iray lights in the Iray light section the 3delight lights in their section and perhaps hdri and emissive shaders in a specific area.

once I can tag items I want all items of a specific type to go a specific place. I want to be able to back up this categorization so,that If my machine crashes I can restore the content to the correct locations

For legacy poser stuff I want all content properly sorted as well. Not stuff in fifteen different places.

I also want to be able to strip out the vanity folders as well and designate one location for documentation. I'd like to also be able to correct typos from daz installers

I want content properly organized so I can find it.

I take it you want this without using CMS?

A female warrior that looks like someone who works at her profession and has more muscle and less fatty (read boobs) tissue. Someone who knows better than to go into battle with her gut bare, her boobs hanging out and in high heels. It would also help if she understood the mechanical kinetics making it impossible to wielding a huge sword and living two seconds, also knows the proper way to shoot an arrow and expect it to cast more than two feet.

I know we live in a fantasy world but historically there real reasons except in fantasy there were no woman warriors. So if we are going to be fanciful lets at least try to understand why the warrior covered the first places stabbed and the physics behind wielding a weapon.

Bah physics. The weapons are magic, of course.

  • A full realistic costume of the new Dr Strange from the 2016 film would be nice

Magazines and an open book. I see spell books, but an actual book. Singular with morphs for the pages

-Magazine rolled up (separate prop, if need be)

    - book open/closed

    - maybe just starting book.

    - halfway through book

    - at the very end.

Poses would help for the hands to be holding the book/magazine in common positions.

    - thumbing the pages

-reading on a train and the newspaper is unfolded (the classic blocking your face, I-spy one), magazine on the lap...

    -reading up against a tree

    -sprawled across the bed

(The library sets should cover most sitting scenarios)

-holding the book closed (double armed, tucked to chest)

    - under arm pit

    - as a stack of books

    -hand grips etc....

I would like to see a plugin (or script, magic wand, etc) that will hunt down and remove "orphan" files from any runtime.

DIM does a reasonable job of removing files it installs, but most of my content (thousands, if not tens of thousands of products) in five runtime folders, was installed manually. So if I remove something, it can leave bits behind as "orphans".

Smooshy squishy bodyparts for both genders. So When a character sits or presses into something the body conforms realistically.

Better hairstyles for men with proper hairlines. Tired of the female and unisex hair being sold as men's styles.

Men's eyebrows that are straighter not arched and plucked looking.

New fish both ocean and fresh.

    Sexy guy aliens.

Men's singlet and better underwear with realistic waistbands.

    Men's rucksack.

Men's military garb with proper insignias.

Sci-fi armor which looks like body armor and is not from a game property.

Coiling vines, cables and plugs for sci-fi. Coiled wires to attach to plugs

    cybernetic bodyparts for both genders

small birds and objects for the sky for distance work like planes spaceships etc.

    wakes for boats and ships

a wave so I can finally use the surf products.

cat burglar outfit and street thug clothing.

    pilot outfit.

    ww1 and 2 uniforms

I would like see a proper sarong/ the kind worn by males in Asian countries sometimes now and traditionally. And with that the head band or waist-band created from the  multipurpose-towel used in farming. maybe I should learn how to make clothes and do it myself, but my skills are rather far away from being able to do that as of now.

That would cool.  Like creating skins in ZBrush from start to finish.  I'd buy that in an instant.  One for the Polypaint and the other for the Spotlight tool!

It would be great to have complete fantasy cities (elven, orcan, etc.) in the Daz Store, with presets to load everything in place. There is Shantara City which looks pretty cool, and we have great sci-fi sets such as Greebles and a number of cool medieval sets, but not much of a selection of fantasy cities.

I was directed to meshbox.com which has older Poser sets (.pp2 and .cr2), but with all the incredible content artists that sell in the Daz Store, I am surprised by the limited selections.

One product I would like is a product that would let me choose the height of my character and so they might be consistently sized. I'd love to be able to designate Gianni 7 as 6'5" (or whatever), and Leo as 6'6" and then have them appropriately sized comparatively.

Measure metrics should work for that, sort of anyway.  You can use height, character morphs and scaling to get the height where you want it using Measure Metrics to tell you what that is without having to constantly re-measure and re-calculate.

Or do you mean designate the default of Gianni 7 as 6'5" and the default of Leo 7 at 6'6"  so they load in at those sizes?

I find some things in studio alter character scaling in ways I don't want. I'd like a way to designate that Gianni, or a character I design and save is a specific height. So I don't contstantly have to go back and redo it when the character is scaled inappropriately again.

Thing is, real people have different proportions at the same height.  I have a friend who is several inches shorter than I, but whose torso is about the same length, so we are the same 'height' when sitting in identical chairs.  So you can get a character to a desired height by scaling (perhaps rescaling the head, feet, and/or hands), or lengthening the legs and/or torso, etc., etc.   I am not at all sure that a one-morph-fits-all solution where you just plug in the desired height would really be satisfactory in the long run.

  • Serene NightSerene Night Posts: 17,675

I'm not sure. I try to match my characters stylistically so I don't render toons and more realistic figures together so jarring gaps in bodyshape really aren't there.

I think it is a fair expectation that characters be able to conform to realworld heights. Especially as we move closer to realism. There are body scaling products and morphs which scale for height already- I just get tired of having to resize people. Would like to lock that down so I can have characters look consistent.

That sounds vaguely like saving a character preset; I mean if you're going to re-use a character multiple times with the samer changes, that's totally the way to go.

I don't know if someone already done this or mentioned it. But Morphs for "unclean" skin. I'm not talking about dirt. I'm talking about, freckles, moles, little scars from shaving or zit removing, stretching stripes from former pregnancy, cellulite etc. All the little things, the human skin never forgets and just appear over time, in a human life.
